High School

Yllaya was an island girl who lived her whole life by the beach together with her mother. She was a very simple girl, but she got big dreams. Living in a far away island, unknown to the world has hindered her to do achieve those. How she wanted to live in the city, experience the city life, meet new friends other than the children around their neighborhood, see the bigger world and maybe, fall inlove?

One day, Yllaya went swimming because the weather was great. It was sunny but not hot. She was floating under the heat of the sun, a smiled plastered on her face when her mother called her. She went to where her mother was and asked what was it about. It was a scholarship. A scholarship which she has longed for. Two years of waiting, finally, after two years. Her mother hugged her tight and she hugged her back. Everything happened so fast, she just woke up one day and felt the cold breeze of the city. The city she was very curious about. It's gonna be a good day, she thought. She wandered around the unfamiliar place. The beauty is unexplainable, she couldn't find the best words to explain it. Oh how she love to live her forever. She was walking around, her eyes fixed on everything she sees, except the street. She bumped into something. No, someone. The man was tall, he was a moreno, he looked like he works out a lot because of his good body proportion. His eyes, his eyes were like...telling what his mouth can't. The guy apologized to her. He smelled so...addicting. She just smiled and nod at him, not knowing of what she'd do next. He introduced himself to her. Jake, Jake Princeton was his name. Even his name was so attractive, she had thought. As she was about to leave him there, he asked her which made he eyes widen in shock. She was asking her on a date! A date! Not sure of what she'd do, Jake gave her a card. A calling card. Yllaya went back to her dorm provided by the organization she got her scholarship from. How would she call him when she don't even know him in the first place? Well, she knows his name but... She was confused. It might make her look like she's kind of a desperate woman. Erasing her thought, she just decided to study for her upcoming test tomorrow.

Friday afternoon, after Yllaya took her last subject for the day, she went to a nearby cafe. She was drained and coffee was her go-to recharge drink. She sat on the table near the window, her usual spot in the cafe. She was looking outside when she heard someone cleared their throat, so she looked that way. She was shocked when he saw him, Jake! He took the seat opposite to her and sipped his coffee. She haven't recovered from the shock and kept staring at him which made him smiled. Oh God! The smile of a God! Everything about the man was perfect to her eyes. How she loved to be held by him, and those lips. Plump lips. It was...tempting. When it was too quite, Jake initiated the talk. She had fun talking to him. He was so gentle but has good sense of humor.

After that cafe incident, Yllaya couldn't get him out of her mind. Jake asked him for another date. She need to atleast look good! She went to her small closet and tried finding some "good" clothes. Then she found a yellow dress her mom bought her when she turned 18. It was a yellow floral flowy dress. This will do, she thought.

After that date, Jake asked her to be her boyfriend which she said yes to. She was ecstatic. How all of her dreams were slowly coming true! After months and months of dating, they found new things about each other. Yllaya found out that Jake was actually a businessman. She doubted herself when she first heard about it. She was a nobody. She was just a freshman and yet her boyfriend was already achieving so many things. Jake was five years older than her which is actually explains why but she felt so little. But Jake never made her feel that way, rather he would help her in her studies.

Four years later, Yllaya graduated with flying colors. She graduated, finally! Her mother was their and Jake, he was with her through all the bad and good times. She felt she has won a lottery. Who would've expect that a nobody from an unknown island would be able to achieve these things. Everything is really on the palm of your hand. You just really got to work hard for it.

Years later, Yllaya decided to live in the city for good. She had a hard time forcing her mother to live with her and Jake but after weeks, her mother said yes to it. Jake also had started his own business which she helps in managing. As of now, the business is growing and so is their family. Yllaya couldn't ask for more because everything she wants and needs are all by her side. They were expecting her first born! They weren't married yet because they want to save for THAT day. They also want their child to walk on the aisle and bear the ring to them. Sure that's so far from now, but they don't want to rush things either. They want everything, although not perfect, atleast the best. They couldn't wait for the things that had come and for the things to come in the future. Whatever that may be, they are going to embrace it whole heartedly. For now, they just want to cherish each moment that passes by.

For every other girls, being successful is a goal. Yllaya succeed in her life, she left the island where she was born and grew up to. She had a scholarship, went to school, and met Jake which is now the live of her life. She graduated and convinced her mother to live with them which she was so happy when her mother said yes to it. Some things happen unexpectedly, you just need to grab the opportunity when it is handed to you, no matter how big or small. Each little step leads to bigger results.

-End-
