"Can you keep a secret?"

"Huh?" Ian said, looking up from his book

"Can you keep a secret?" Annabella asked

"Depends,"

"Its a yes or no, Ian," Annabella said, annoyed

"Fine then. I'll be a good friend and say yes," Ian said, closing his book and setting it to the side, "So. What's the secret?"

"First, don't get mad at me because I had a good reason for what I did," Annabella said, anxious

"Well, you shouldn't have told me that because I'll get mad easier," Ian sighed, "Even what could you have done that would make me mad,"

"I played the Ouija board and I think i forgot to say goodbye, but I made sure to bring a cross and holy water with me," Annabella lifted her cross necklace and showed him the bottle of holy water

"Jesus, Annabella. What were you thinking!" Ian exclaimed, mad

"Hey, I told you not to get mad at me," Annabella whined

"Well, sorry if I'm mad that my best friend decided to play the Ouija board and could have a demon trying to get your soul or possess you," Ian explained, narrowing his eyes

"It was for a good reason," Annabella mumbled

"Then tell me the reason and I'll be the judge if it was a good reason to use the Ouija," Ian shifted his chair, leaning his arm on the desk

"Well, I wanted to see if I can communicate with Dylan-,"

"Annabella, please tell me your lying," Ian groan, covering his face

"Ian, please understand tha-,"

"Annabella, how can you expect me to understand. He was an asshole and doesn't deserve to have your life on the line because of his stupidity," Ian lashed out, pissed off

"Ian, stop being mean! Dylan didn't want to die so im just trying to communicate with him, so I can find his killers," Annabella yelled at him, crying

"For God sakes, Annabella! His test results came back with his drug levels high, so you expect me to let you do this," Ian scoffed

"He texted me that night and it didn't sound like him. He sounded so scared and he sent a picture of where he was at," Annabella explained

"What, why would he do that," Ian asked, "I thought you stopped talking to him after he pressured you into taking heroin," Crossing his arms

"Ian, please believe me and keep this a secret,"

"How can i keep this a secret? Do the police already know that Dylan contacted the night he disappeared?" Ian asked

"No, his phone was never found and even if I confessed to talking to him that night, I'll be a suspect,"

"Annabella," Ian sighed

"I can't just-," *Bang

Ian and Annabella looked at Ian's bedroom door, "What was that?" Ian got up and walked to the door

*Bang, Bang, Bang* Ian jumped back, stumbling into the chair

"Annabella, are you sure you didn't say goodbye," Ian closed his eyes, trying to calm his heartbeat

"I immediately stopped playing and threw it in the lake when the board spelled out murder," Annabella said, shaking her head

"The board said murder. What else did it say?" Ian looked at her

"Well I asked if anyone was in room and it said yes then i asked if it was Dylan then it replied with yes, so I continue to ask questions, but I couldn't believe what I saw," Annabella shuddered

"What? What happened?" Ian asked

"It spelled our names and then murder came right after. That's when I was done, I threw it in the lake and stayed home until now," Annabella explained

"Annabella, how could you not say goodbye? Now look what happened. There's a goddamn demon in my house," Ian exclaimed, pointing to his door

"Well, I just wanted to know what happened to Dylan!" Annabella cried, "Me and him were close and yes, I still talked to him after he pressured me. He wasn't himself and I knew that, so that's why i kept in contact with him,"

"Oh, so we're not close?" Ian scoffed, he grinned then laughed, "You really think the both of you were close? He was using you, Annabella! It was clear, but you couldn't see because he had you in his hand,"

"I don't know why i came here, I shouldn't have told you anything, but you have to keep this a secret," Annabella stood from his bed and walked to the door

She reached for the knob, but the lights flickered. Annabella stopped and looked at Ian, who didn't move an inch.

"You caused this, so your going to see what's happening?" Ian stated, glaring at her

Annabella gulped and looked back at the door and placed her hand on the knob, the lights flickering. She let out a breath and swing the door open, her eyes shut. When she didn't hear anything, she slowly opened her eyes. The hallway looking the same, nothing out of place. She looked back at Ian, who was staring at her. She walked out and walked down the hallway to the front door, but stopped when she saw candles lit around a Ouija board in the living room.

"Ian…," Annabella said, scared as she backed away slowly

"What is it- What the hell is this?" Ian froze as he saw the Ouija board

"I-I don't know, but I'm scared,"

"Well, you should be since your the one who put us in this situation,"

"Please stop, Ian," Annabella lowered her head

"The demon is probably taking us to talk to it and when we do, we are saying goodbye," Ian grabbed Annabella's hand and pulled her to the board

They sat down and put their fingers on the wooden indicator and it moved without them asking a question. It started to spell a word or sentence. Hello Ian and Annabella.

"What the hell!" Ian jumped back, but keeping his finger on the wooden indicator

"Who are you?" Annabella asked

The indicator moving, Dylan

"Thats bullshit," Ian said, "Dylan is dead and I know your a demon, who just wants to get closer to our souls,"

Liar. It spelled. Annabella looked at Ian, who was glaring at the board

"Demons really like to taunt people and make up lies," Ian dryly chuckled, "Goodbye, demon. Say goodbye, Annabella,"

"Goo-," Annabella stopped as the indicator moved

Murderer. Annabella let out a gasp and looked at Ian, "What does it mean, Ian?"

"I really dont know, but just say goodbye so we can get this over with,"

"Goodbye," The indicator didn't move, "I said goodbye," The indicator moved to No

"This is why you should never mess with an Ouija," Ian groan

The indicator began to move when Ian was talking and spelled Murderer multiple times. Ian and Annabella's fingers moving fast.

"Okay, this is freaking me out. What is it calling you a murderer, Ian?" Annabella asked, afraid, looking up at him

Ian face was dark as his eyes looked cold, "Can you keep a secret, Annabella?" He smirked, taunting her

I like this spooky story! I couldn't stop reading. However, some punctuations are missing.
