The blizzard that revealed

“Being stuck at the workplace during a blizzard is no joke. Many things can occur; your children could go crazy being home alone and go through your things in your room and find your hidden stash of cannabis, they could find your adult toys that you have hidden in your closet in a shoe box, or they could destroy the house trying to get warm. One can only pray they don’t start a fire”. Debra said this to Wendy as if it had happened to her once and she just waited until she finished because they had been drinking for the last hour. The blizzard had been going on for the last hour and everyone raided the boss’s office because he was on vacation and they knew he had a wine stash. After the first hour of the storm, most of the staff grew tired of each other and started exploring floors and that’s when one of them noticed that the boss’s office was unlocked because the janitor didn’t lock it back last night after he was done cleaning. They creeped into the office as if they were sneaking and didn’t want to get caught even though nobody was around to see them. They started rummaging through the office and by accident one of them ended up pressing against a small button on the book shelf and in the middle of it a small hidden compartment revealed itself. There was a code they needed to enter and it was five digits. Being that Wendy was his secretary she knew the 5-digit code. She entered it and the door slowly opened and in it was a 10yr old bottle of wine. Debra quickly grabbed it and went through Chad’s desk drawer and found a corkscrew. She quickly opened the bottle and chugged it. “Wow,” said Wendy I’ve never seen someone drink that much in one gulp before. She responded and said that being around her coworkers for so long was unbearable and she couldn’t fathom another minute without alcohol in her system. Wendy snatched the bottle from Debra and began drinking some. Next thing you know Jacob walks by and sees them on the floor drinking and sharing stories and he walks in and notices an open compartment with some more bottles of wine. He then decides that the perfect thing to do was to throw a party. They were on the 10^th floor and half of the staff that was there left to mingle with other floors and vice versa. Someone found an old speaker in a closet a few floors below them and brought it up. They plugged it in and no one had music to play until Jacob’s friend from the 5^th floor told them he DJ’d at night on the weekends and had a phone specifically designed for that experience. He started playing music and Jacob got the rest of the wine bottles out the safe which were about 5 more and they each were about 24ounces each. They found plastic cups and begin passing them around as none of them were thinking about being fired as they didn’t even know how long the snow would have them trapped in the building. After 30minutes the party died down as they had run out of wine and a few people had passed out from drinking too much. Jacob and his DJ friend were dancing with Wendy and Debra when the DJ equipment blew a fuse because the wires were frayed and the equipment was old so it lasted as long as it could. Jacob and his friend decided to go look for some spare equipment but by the time they disassembled the equipment they had Wendy and Debra had passed out. They looked around the room and the majority of people were passed out, laying close to each other to keep warm. Jacob and his friend Keith decided to go looking around for more equipment. First, they went to the downstairs closet where they first discovered the equipment and in their search of the room they discovered another door. This door was marked restricted access and when Keith turned the handle the door opened slightly. He then pushed the door open more and was amazed at what he found. Their mouths dropped as the door led to a wine cellar with varieties of vintage wine. Normally they wouldn’t be allowed in this room but they were trapped, inebriated, and were very curious. Jacob decided that they should leave and search for more equipment but they would come back and get some wine. They were on the 9^th floor so they went down to the next floor and searched the supply closet there. They found old hospital scrubs and some cosplay outfits which confused them as they worked in an accountant building. In the back of that closet they came across another doo and it was surprisingly open. They went in and this room was a virtual reality set up. A little confused they left out because they needed to gather themselves as they were taken aback. They discussed the things they just discovered in two rooms which made them even more curious about what they would discover in the other rooms. They left the 8^th floor and moved down to the 7^th. On the 7^th floor they searched the closet and found a bunch of books, they kept searching for a door and for some reason this room was bigger than the others. They finally found a door and when they opened it they were disappointed. Behind the door was a brick wall and that was normal as some buildings were customary for that because they didn’t have anything to add to the room. They left the book room and moved down another floor. The 6^th floor seemed eerie and it was full of rooms that were vacant. They walked down the long corridors passing by many offices that were vacant and they finally came across a door that it seemed like it took them a whole hour to get to. In the door they came across a dark room, when they felt around the wall they felt a light switch and flipped it up and what they saw was a hollow room that was about the size of a barn. Another switch was beside the light switch but it was a circle you had to press. When they pressed the button, the room turned dark then slightly lit up, a clown carrying a knife came out of the blue and charged at them; with no defense and not enough time to prep themselves they got hit with the knife and the clown disappeared. Even though they were seemingly stabbed by a clown but it was crazy because the clown disappeared and no one was harmed. They soon realized that it was a hologram that had to be activated by the circle switch. They continued walking through the room and experienced many more unnerving things. The next thing that came to attack them was a skeleton holding a mace. This skeleton resembled something real as it was not a hologram but instead an animated plastic skeleton. The skeleton was closer to Jacob and he just quickly kicked it and the leg came off and it fell over. Keith a little confused asked if this was some sort of scare chamber as if Jacob had ever been in there. Jacob told him that he didn’t know what the room was and that he was amazed that no one knew about the rooms and that it would have cost a lot of money to get things like the rooms they have saw built and nobody ever heard anything. They became more curious with every second that passed and they continued walking forward. The next thing to amaze them was that the room seemingly transported them to another world and they saw mountains, dungeons, and dragons. Being that dragons weren’t real they were scared because the creature was very large and its jaws were wide and filled with razor sharp teeth. While they were staring in amazement everything disappeared as someone had pressed the button to power off the room. They turned around and saw their coworker Harold. Harold was a mailman on the 5^th floor and told them that he discovered the room one day while he was looking for a room to relax in. He told them that on the 5^th floor the room in the storage closet was used to host an AA meeting. He also explained that it was a virtual reality room that displays different scenarios depending on the weight and height of each person that comes into it. After talking with Harold for 20 minutes they all went to the third floor and searched around there. On the third floor they ran into staff from the 10^th floor who were still a little inebriated. The third floor had a speaker and someone’s phone was playing music. They had a small party and people were still dancing and only a few were passed out as they were tired from dancing. Harold decided to stay at the party and Keith and Jacob walked down the hallways looking for a storage door that they could search because despite the fact of finding so many interesting things they still didn’t find any DJ equipment. They came across a door that wasn’t marked and went through it. It had stairs going downwards and when they got to the end there was another door that they had to walk through. They went through the door and discovered it was a back doorway to the 2^nd floor. This was the last floor to check to hope to find new equipment as the first floor was just the entrance into the building and an elevator. They quickly found the storage door this time and discovered blankets and sheets and other gear that would keep people warm. After gathering these things to take back up to their floor they were about to leave when Jacob noticed a small door behind some rails. He moved them away and opened the door. There was a circular flight of stairs headed downward. He started to go down after dropping the blankets and the door closed behind him leaving Keith by himself. Jacob walked franticly down the stairs and when he got to the bottom his jaw dropped. He had been walking down for 5 minutes. He saw that there were cameras set up, about 20 screens. Most of them were showing the rooms Jacob and Keith had just been to and a room they didn’t know existed. The camera showed it was on the 5^th floor and what he saw shocked him. He saw his boss and the manager of the firm also with the owner of the company and they were sitting around a machine and eating steak and shrimp. The machine was creating a wide light. As he tried to zoom in he was knocked out from behind. When he awoke he saw Harold’s face and looked around and noticed he was in the room he was just looking at. Also, there was Keith and they both were tied up. After they awoke Harold untied them and the company manger started talking. He told them that they watched the cameras and saw that their projects had been discovered and that the what they were doing would make the company more money. Jacob interrupted and asked what the machine was and they showed them. They told them that they were doing an experiment on what would happen during a blizzard and that the machine created a blizzard around whatever building it was in. So basically, it was a weather machine. After explaining everything they also told them that they were not in the building any more. Somehow the underground passageway led them to another building where they were able to analyze what was going on. All this was too much for Keith and Jacob to fully comprehend as it was mind boggling what their bosses were doing. They said they would let people know and before they could finish their rant they got shot in the neck with a needle that knocked them out for few minutes. When they awoke they were back in the building inside Chuck’s office and they were beside a now awoken Wendy and Debra. They asked what happened and the girls said that when they awoke they were gone but when they came to check for more wine they saw them sleeping in the office. Keith and Jacob were confused and asked if they saw someone with them. The girls said no and were shocked after they told them what happened to them. The manager and owner weren’t worried about them as it was their word and they would just sound like conspiracy theorist.
