Quick Disclaimer: Honsu is The God of The Moon, and Arka is The God of The Sun. Just wanted to clarify so no one was too confused.

I held Honsu’s hand and laid against him as the trial was waiting to start. He laid his head on mine and breathed deeply, his way of trying to stay collected in front of others.

I looked up at the ceiling, my breath calm and still as I closed my eyes, and the room began to get hotter and brighter as the light that was coming from my body went across the room in rays. I could feel Honsu’s body relax, as, even though he did not necessarily need heat, he still liked it. Especially when it came from me.

“Y’know," he mumbled, and I opened my eyes and turned to look at him, the light going away, but the heat staying. “I knew we would get found out eventually. But…I guess I ignored it.” He put his hands in his lap, letting mine fall limp, and the heat in the room fell away, making the cold rush in quickly.

“Baby-” I started, but he stopped me.

“Don’t. Just…don’t. It hurts enough already.” He put his elbows on his lap and his head in his hands, while his black hair fell down his back.

“What hurts," I asked softly. I put my hand very gently on his back, and he flinched, his muscles tightening before stopping himself and just letting me run out the tension from his body by running my hand back forth across his muscles.

“The fact of how stupid I am for letting myself believe that this was ever going to turn out ok.” He chuckled humorlessly, his deep voice rumbling, even if it was muffled by his hands still covering his mouth.

“Y’know, I always had that nagging thought in the back of my head,” he said as he lifted his head up from his hands. “That, for a god, I’m pretty stupid." The room began to grow colder with his stronger emotions coming into play. I shivered, tucking myself in closer to my body, trying to get some of my body heat to warm me up.

“Listen, Honsu. You’re not stupid and you’re not some kind of weird idiot who everyone hates, either.” I gently pulled his face to look at mine, and a small black blush appeared on his tan skin as his dark blue eyes made contact with mine.

“You’re nothing short of a great god, no matter what others think." A shadow of a smile passed over his face as he leaned into me, his eyes closing. “You always know what to say, Arka.” He kissed me, and I held him tightly, even when he had let go of my lips and was just leaning his head against my chest. I didn’t realize I had fallen asleep until someone came up to us and tapped me on the shoulder.

My head rocked up in surprise and I blinked my eyes quickly so I could get the blurry vision to go away.

“It is time, Arka. Please awake, Honsu." He bowed before walking out and waiting at the door so he could escort them to the trial room.

I slowly shook Honsu and he woke up, his eyes blinking open and he looked up at me.

“Is it time,” he asked as he shook his head to wake himself up. I nodded, and he stood, reaching out his hand to help me up. I grabbed it and pulled myself up, my pony-tailed silver hair and yellow robe flowing behind me. “Are you ready for this,” Hon asked, a slight joking tone to his voice, with a half-hearted smile stretched across his face, and for once, his eyebags looked deeper and darker than usual.

I chuckled and said, “Absolutely not.” I kissed him again, for the last time, and then walked out of the room, hand-in-hand, finally being able to show our love without feeling like it must be kept a secret from the others.

The guard turned and nodded at us before grunting out, “Follow me, please.” His eyes darted around, trying to look anywhere besides me and Hon’s hands. We walked down the hallway, and we walked into the trial room, all the other gods circling us in their high chairs.

I looked up at the Creator, the one who was our god, the one we worshiped.

We let go of each other's hands and bowed, going on the ground.

“So,” he said, not even noticing our bowing stances. “You decided to fall in love. As gods, and without permission. And, to make matter worse, you both choose a God instead of a Goddess. Hmph.” He walked down to us, and we both fell down to the floor slowly, our legs going under us. “You’re a betrayer to us, and your chosen partners."

We both nodded along, our heads not lowered in the slightest, and our bodies rigid as we looked up at the creator. “You two know what we do with betrayers, correct?” We both nodded again, and he snapped his fingers, making a giant sword of light appear. The only weapon that could permanently kill a God.

“Which one of you would like to die first?" He asked us this as if he was asking what we would like for dinner.

Honsu began to stand, but I put out my hand and stopped him, and his eyes widened. “Arka, no. I refuse to see you die."

"And I the same.” I stood, walking in front of the sword.

“Turn,” the Creator ordered, and I did as instructed. I looked down at Honsu and smiled, golden tears falling down my face and rolling over my cheeks onto the ground.

Silver tears fell down his face, and yet he still stayed down. I opened my mouth to say my final words. “I’m so glad I let myself love you.”

I closed my eyes and-

(Author's Note: The reason it cuts out in the end is because it's signifying Arka's death)

Just now seeing this since I got writer's block for a while, but I just wanted to say thanks man. This means a lot, especially since this thing was a random one-off I did in a night or two. Really raised my motivation up :)
