*DYING TO LIVE AGAIN*
Jean could feel the wetness that dripped from her head the instant she crashed into the incoming truck. This wasn't a coincidence. She knew this was intentional. They had tampered with her car to get rid of her and ensure she never talks to the cops. She felt the faintness that wobbled her vision, the extreme pain that ungracefully hammered her entire body, anchoring in her head. Her car was in a total mess and so was she. She could feel the blood that rushed out from her slender thigh, and her stomach. Her stomach....her heartbeat accelerated, feeling the pain in her stomach. This wasn't from the bleeding. She knew something was wrong with the growing child in her stomach. She choked back a sob stuck in her dried throat. Her head rested motionlessly on the black steering wheel, soaked in crimson fluid that rushed from her head.
She was dying and she knew it. She didn't need a shaman to tell her that. The continuous pain from her stomach told her she had lost her baby in her womb. They had won. Dave and Emma had successfully killed her and her own child, just has they wanted. A cold tear rolled out from her eyes. Her deep crystalline gaze bored out the broken shards of the car's window. She kept on flapping her perfect long lashes unsteadily. Even it was slowly losing the last energy it had.
She could hear the faint noises that drew closer to her car in panic. She couldn't move, nor utter a word. She tried to but what came out was a muffled gasp. She was badly injured by the accident. She wasn't going to make it and Jean knew it. She knew this was her last day in this insufferable world and her last moments, but still the sharp piercing pain that strangled her heart was far much worse than the physical pain that her body bathed in. She wasn't even scared of the bright light that had begin to creep into her vision. It felt unwelcoming and lonely, but she wasn't scared. She felt her soul leaving her body. She wanted it to be over. This pain was unbearable. There was nothing to live for. Her world had crumbled in a second and her life was over in the next. What could be worse than that?
Jean wanted nothing more than to be free from this murderous pain that had formed a saddening cavity in her bleeding heart. Hurt was the understatement of what she felt. She felt stupid and used and the pain of betrayal wasn't letting her succumb to the cold hands of death that atleast wanted to welcome her and her unborn child, and she could say she was grateful and wanted the peace it promised. She didn't want to feel nor hurt, neither did she want to remember the flashes of Dave and Emma that invaded her last thoughts.
Her so-called beloved husband and best friend. Their words and confession stung her immensely like a poisonous venom aimed at killing her. Her life was over, she had lived a worthless life as Jean Campbell, ignorant and stupid. She hated this feeling and wanted it to be over.
Death always provided a freedom and certain peace from all these, atleast that what's she was told growing up. She always heard nothing hurts over there. Now she wanted to believe it more than ever, whether it was a lie or not, She wanted to take this leap of faith and succumb to a place where nothing could hurt her. Not his betrayal, or her best friend Emma's words, or the fact that she was used, cheated on, conned and betrayed by the two people who meant the world to her.
Jean had so many questions, but now wasn't the time for that. She didn't even have any time for that. Today she experienced the harshness of life. She couldn't help but recall the distasteful flashes of Dave and Emma together in her own home. Dave hadn't loved her, her husband she had been married to for two years never loved her. She was nothing but a 'plan' to him. Her best friend whom she always considered has a sister always hated her. She was conned of everything-- her love, her child, her wealth and even her life.
Jean couldn't understand how she didn't see the tiredless writing Heavens had scribbled on the wall of their betrayal. But it was too late. They had won and she was dying, they had killed her, the way they killed her father. There was nothing else she could do. She couldn't make them pay, nor seek vengeance for herself and her father.
Now she wanted it all to end, the pain, hurt, betrayal. Her crystalline blue gaze was covered with a bright light. She knew it had come for her. Death.
It's cold hands were felt on her skin, offering nothing like the peace she hoped for. But still, she had to take this leap, it was either this or being eaten up by this piercing pain.
She surrendered, her soul succumbing to the other side, but something in her wasn't yet ready to go. Something in her wanted to fight... fight for everything she had lost. This shouldn't be the end of her, it should never be...but a new beginning.... the beginning of her end.
Even the unwelcoming hands of death, shivered at her will.
She breathed in a new life, pulling her soul back into the world. She fought her eyes open. She was shocked to find herself in the body of another. Her eyes scanned around. She was alive but in a skin of another.
She took the leap and it brought her here. She was given another chance to mend her wrongs and seek revenge for her child and her father. And she wasn't going to waste it.
This was the beginning of her new life, one she thought had ended in that fatal accident that was staged. However short this new life was, she wasn't going to waste it. Never.
