2:30 Am

Earth

In the thick of night, Max, a boy, recognizes himself as his own entity. Rather, he did. As he continues to stare at the stars, hoping for some revelation. He ponders the philosophy of viewing oneself as a mere speck of dust in the galaxy as opposed to a G-d.

2:33 Am

The sky

The thick fog of night and the mist of the sun's departure fills the air. Like water to an empty container; full to the brim and overflowing. A rainstorm of beauty, a fog of passion.

2:36 Am

The sky

The moon hangs low in the sky, counting down the hours until it can go home, to another side of the Earth. It can already smell the grass of ripened fields, as the music of crickets echoing in the vast country field fills its ears. Yet this place too is as equally temporary as the next.

Before long the moon will find itself entangled in the beautiful, chaotic hustle and bustle of New York City. The sound from clubs and the horns from taxis bounce off the tall buildings. The moon sympathizes with the people it sees trying to mend their broken hearts. Getting drunk or high, trying to forget the problems that won't disappear until they are dealt with. It sees too many problems between the world's and peoples' internal struggles.

Perhaps there is an underlying link between the two. Between the people we see, the constellation of emotions and life itself.

An unexplored connection, perhaps it is that life goes by so fast, we spend it worrying about problems, causing more problems, instead of taking moments and making them precious by being grateful for what we have. It is not wrong to want more for oneself, maybe the issues lies in our dissatisfaction with what we have. Living creations have shown time and time again to always want more, to crave, desire, glorify, and roll in it. The moon can't wait to travel and the sad who refuse to be mended will never be satisfied.

2:46 Am

The moon

The moon wonders and wishes what it is like to be the sun. It yearns to be bright and feared, no one dares go near the sun. Yet it fears its quench will never be satisfied. Instead, the moon spends its days trapped as a mere reflection of the sun and stars. Inhabited, used as camping grounds for scientists and authors alike. The moon is tired of being stepped upon, literally.

2:48 Am

The sun

The sun has never known cold, only the scorching heat of its fire. That is not to say the sun does not spend countless hours, even days, contemplating what the feeling of a shiver is. The sun wonders how it can possibly spend the entirety of its life ( which is regretfully eternity) to never have the chance to have a population of its own and to be home to man. The great ball of fire craves to be the moon, loved instead of feared like itself. The sun is bored and craves to be entertained by exploration and change. The sun wonders what the life of a star must be like, short yet sweet, not stuck in a wasteland of time. A star has the ability to travel throughout space, to be bright, in one star's lifetime it has seen more than the sun, it is for this reason that the sun wants a change in its ever so ordinary life, even if it means the end of an entirety, for what is the point of life without progression? Then again, the sun goes back to pondering why again it is so bad that it must stay the same for its whole lifetime. Perhaps change is scary, maybe it better start to take more joy in the simplicity that is its existence. No duties nor responsibilities. It can just be, exist, without being bothered by astronomers and rovers and the like. The ball of fire wonders if its life as the sun is in fact better than that of the moon and stars, as the sun, it never has the worries of change and what it may bring or anything of the unexpected, it is a reassurance only a few can have, and for that, the sun rejoices. Even though its relentless heat may be the only temperature it feels, the sun accepts the fact that that is okay. The sun continues to watch the passing stars, but this time it wonders if they are satisfied with their lives...

2:49 Am

Earth

A mere speck of dust gazes up and through the mist and fog as it looks back to him. Max longs to be the sun, the moon, or even a star( infinity can be scary). Here, he feels as if he has no purpose, no meaning. The boy desires to be known, needed, and glorified as the center of attention, on the corner of his friend's drawings. He wants to be noticed, yet here he feels invisible. Max envies the sun; introverted, only shown through clouds. Perhaps the moon has it better than he; researched and taken account of. But alas, it is 2:53 am and nothing has changed except for more bags under his eyes.

The sun, moon, and speck of dust realize that nothing can be changed but their mindset. So, as the long battle for change begins, the moon sheds a tear and causes a thicker frog and almost frothy mist. Whilst it gazes up at the sun, choking back battles amid the realization of his unattainable desire.

Little does the moon know how much the sun stares longingly at it.

2:57 Am

Earth

The speck of dust gazes upwards at the stars, let's the dew of his fresh beginning wet his sandy-colored hair. He allows himself to let go, to be engulfed in a dream of a mere star in the fog and mist of an intangible reality.

2:50 Am

The cycle of new horizons and change continues, for it never really ended, only started.

I found this really fascinating! The personification of the sun and moon, how they thought of each other is something I have never encountered and found quite compelling. Keep writing like this and you'll go far!
