New morning, new day, it was time to start the online homework I have been procrastinating all week. Two essays, fifty calculus questions, watching a documentary for civics, I thought I was going to die. There is no way I am going to get all of this work done. Instead of immediately starting my homework, like a good student would do at seven thirty in the morning, I began my morning routine. I slept in until about nine with my cute little dog, ate some eggs and toast for breakfast and finally started that massive amount of work. All was going well on my adventure to complete this monster, that is until my dog decided to sleep some more, on my computer. After shoving her off, she went outside, which allowed me to get at least thirty of my fifter calculus questions done. But that did NOT last long, no instead she decided to come inside absolutely drenched in mud. Usually I would not have given it a second glance, but my white dog had turned into a deep shade of brown from her stubby little legs to her long giraffe of a neck. Not only that, but she got mud on our brand new carpet. I had to stop doing my homework and I had to give her a bath. The bath and cleaning the carpet took about twenty minutes. So, twenty minutes lost, thanks to my dog, but it was time to get back to work. An hour passed by and now it was eleven o’clock right on the dot and all I was able to accomplish was forty math problems. Without looking again, I got right back to work hustling to write my two essays. Then all of a sudden, I hear my dog crying. “What now?” I think to myself. I paused from my writing to check and see if she was okay. Turns out, my dog had a little thorn stuck in her paw. Not the kind of thorn that is easy to get out, no, somehow my dog was able to dig the thorn deep in her pocket. I had to journey high and low throughout my house to find a pair of tweezers and when I did, my dog kept running away from me. Looking at the clock to see it was eleven forty, I screamed at my dog. Eventually I got the thorn out, but not long after my stomach began to growl. After quickly eating a ham and cheese sandwich, I went back to my work space and picked up where I left off. After an hour, I was able to finish one of my essays. When I thought I was finally on a roll, my dog jumped on me with her head covered in dirt. “Why can’t you be like the dogs on my Instagram??? All they do is sleep” I told my dog as she panted excitedly. I was so fed up with her at this point that I just ignored her. That is, until she jumped on my computer. My dog is small, but she is not that small, my computer screen bent backwards almost to the point where it could have broken. I threw my dog off of my computer so fast she barely had time to land on her feet. My heat absolutely sunk to my stomach when I bent my screen forward and saw a crack right at the bottom. Not only was I not able to finish my homework, but my dad was going to kill me for breaking my laptop. Although, not all was lost, after about ten minutes my laptop came back on. Even though there was a crack in the screen, it did not affect how the machine ran. After a stern talk with my dog I banished her outside and put the dog screen over her doggie door. About four hours passed and I was able to get both essays written and all of my calculus work out of the way. I was in the middle of watching the documentary for civics when I heard a scratching at the door. My dog was done being outside and wanted in so she did everything she could to get my attention. She scratched and whined as loud as she could before I eventually cracked. I let her in but that was my first mistake. My dog came running inside the house covered in dirt and spider webs more energetic than before. She jumped from couch to couch making everything from the carpet to the furniture covered in dirt and random bits of grass. Not only was my assignment due at six o’clock that night, but my parents came home at five. I was going to be grounded and have a whole letter grade drop all because my dog decided to roll around in everything she saw. With an hour away from five I quickly grabbed my dog threw her in another bath, vacuumed the carpets and wiped down our furniture. With twenty minutes to spare from five, I finished watching the documentary and tried to answer the questions. Except now instead of my dog being loud and obnoxious, my parents came into the house with volumes so loud I could barely hear myself think. Not only did my parents come into the house with a million questions, my dog decided to bark at my dad for no reason. She thought she was protecting me, but really she was being so obnoxious. Instead of staying in that loud environment, I moved to my room where there was absolute silence. Except, my dog decided to follow me into my room. However, for the first time today, she did not make a noise. My dog was absolutely silent and laid still. She finally did what I wanted her to do all day, she slept. I was able to work on the documentary questions for a good thirty minutes, about twenty minutes before it was due. With two questions left to go, I could finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. However, at that moment my dog decided to snore, which led to her kicking and eventually crying. I woke her up so she could stop, but she thought I was waking her up so that she could lay on me. With her head on my computer and her body in my lap, I was able to finish the assignment with ten minutes to spare.
