Adventure

Miss Kate was a single mother of two daughters, Clara and Chloe. Clara was older and she was in primary one while Chloe was in middle class. They were only a year apart. Miss Kate loved her daughter's so much and she lived for them. Her older daughter Clara had proved to be quite stubborn while Chloe was still quite reserved. Miss Kate had broken up with the father of her daughters because he was making terrible life choices and she didn't want those terrible choices to affect her daughters. Their father was Mr. Amak, he was a drug addict and a drunkard who kept on promising that he would change his ways but all the promises were in vain. Miss Kate got tired of waiting for him to change and so she told him straight up that if he ever wanted to get close to his daughters again, he would have to first look for them because she was leaving. Mr. Amak then cried for them but Miss Kate had already made up her mind. She would always tell her daughters that their father had something to fix and that until he fixed it, he could not see them. Somehow, Clara and Chloe understood her and they never asked questions, I guess it is the connection between mother and child. Therefore, Miss Kate always took care of her daughters all by herself, after all she was working as a lawyer with a well_paying company in town so she could afford to give them a good life. She took great pride in her daughters first and then in her job. She would ask herself everyday why she had to fall in love with Mr. Amak. Miss Kate had always envisioned her life as one without any major problems.

Miss Kate would always make sure that she fixed time to take her daughters for a day out, she would also never miss any occasion they had at school like concerts and birthday parties. Miss Kate would even go an extra mile to order matching outfits for her and her daughters when they had a day out. On one Christmas day, Clara and Chloe wanted to go to the Christmas kids festival and so Clara asked her mum, Miss Kate if they could go. Off course Miss Kate allowed, she ordered matching blouses for herself and her girls and they all rocked them with blue jeans. On Christmas day, they all headed for the festival. The kids were paying twenty thousand Uganda shillings each and the parents had free entry. The girls were so excited.

There was so much to see and so many games to play. Clara and Chloe were excited to see big over decorated Christmas trees everywhere, they were excited to see donkeys and camels and a big colorful bouncing castle. The foodstuffs at the festival included cotton candy, ice cream, cake, popcorn, fries, chicken, sausages, pork, soda, the yo-juice drink for the kids and sweets. There were some allocated mini-restuarants for parents who wanted to have other food stuffs. The first thing Clara did was to ask to ride the donkey and the camel, Miss Kate escorted her together with Chloe and Clara had the time of her life. Then Miss Kate let Clara and Chloe go to find different fun activities. Clara and Chloe then went to the cotton candy man and he gave them strawberry flavoured cotton candy. However much they had paid at the entrance and they had been given bungles which showed they had paid, the only free foodstuffs inside the festival we're the cotton candy and the yo- juice drinks, the rest of the food stuffs were for sale. The fun activities we're all for free on the inside as they were catered for in the twenty thousand Uganda shillings paid at the entrance of the festival. Clara and Chloe then went to play on the swings and then on the bouncing castle.

At first, Miss Kate was watching her daughters while she sat under a shade but she later got destructed by a phone call from one of her work mates. Miss Kate took the phone call for about forty minutes. After her phone call, Miss Kate got up to find her daughters and immediately, she only saw Chloe, her younger one, looking around. Miss Kate run towards Chloe and asked where Clara was. Chloe then said that Clara had left her at the bouncing castle saying she was going to ask the donkey guy to let her have another donkey ride. So Miss Kate started looking around for Clara together with Chloe. Off course the first place they searched was at the donkey-riding location. They checked in so many other places too and Clara was no where to be found. So Miss Kate rushed to the DJ and told him to announce for a little girl who is dressed 👗 just like her. She then stood on the stage right next to the DJ so that people could see her outfit and help look for a little girl about the age of seven who was 👗 dressed in the same outfit. Miss Kate started crying as she held Chloe's hand tighter.

After about one hour, a lady approached Miss Kate at the stage and said to her "excuse me, please follow me." Miss Kate then followed her and the lady led her to where Clara was. Clara was playing with a little boy at the back of a tent. The lady who called Miss Kate had been watching them and she was the little boy's mother. Miss Kate yelled "OMG! Clara!" as she hugged her so tightly "you had me so worried." Clara then apologized for getting lost. So Miss Kate started interacting with the lady, she asked her for her name and for her son's name. The lady was Mrs. Lilian Katu and her son was Liam Katu. Miss Lilian was married to Dr. John Kati and Liam was their only child. Liam looked to be the same age as Clara. Miss Kate was so happy with Mrs. Lilian for watching Clara and they became fast friends. Miss Kate was surprised to find out that infact Liam and Clara go to the same Primary school and are in the same class. It all made sense why Clara was drawn to play with Liam, it was because he was familiar from school. Miss Kate then bought fries and chicken for her and her daughters to eat as she sat at the same table with Mrs. Lilian and Liam who were eating too. Miss Kate and Mrs. Lilian continued to interact. They even exchanged phone numbers. Miss Kate was so grateful that in that unusual circumstance of looking for a lost child during a festival, she had made a fast friend. Miss Kate put it down in her diary as a day to remember.

_THE END_

Clara getting lost and found reminds me of so many festivals where usually kids get lost. I have seen such many cases on weddings, churches, at the beaches, visitation days at school; etc
