Maren Kai scrambled down the sea like a big cut on its surface. Water gripped his knee, pulled his feet, then thrust his shoulders till the blue arms could see his eyes. He still kept moving. Strong fires of him were bigger, louder, and fiercer than the ocean-high, thrust waves.
The sea ran beyond his hair.
He did not stop.
Water draughted his breath.
He hurried in steps.
His weight grabbed him down to his knee.
“I will not stop.”
His legs crushed beneath his skin. He floated on. Roaring in anger, fearlessness, and hope.
“WHO ARE YOU?” - A stentorian voice came behind his ears.
“Who... are you?” - Maren struggled in dead.
“I’M THE SPIRIT OF OCEAN - KESTRAJED.”
Maren didn’t reply. He even could not hear the answer.
The magical spirit lifted him up into the air and shouted at him:
“WHO ARE YOU?”
The weak voice responded:
“Ma...ren Kai...”
“WHY ARE YOU HERE? KILLING YOURSELF? NO! PEOPLE WANT TO DIE DON’T DO THINGS LIKE YOU. RUNNING DOWN HERE. SCREAMING. ANNOYING ME AT THE MIDDLE OF MY PARTYYYYY!”
“My fi...an...ce...”
“Your fiance?”
“She’s here...”
“WHAT? Wait... are you ok? Hey, wake up Maren. Wake up!!!”
`` Kestrajed carried the body in his hands. “How am I going to get back to the party? Should I just throw him back to the land?”
“Sai...ge” - The limp man mumbled.
“Saige?” - The spirit surprised.
“Saige... Please...”
For a second, Kestrajed thought of letting the body go, but he hesitated.
Then, he put the man into his hair and dived.
Right the moment he reached his place, he hurried to write a few words.
‘My dearest Losanges,
Meet me now. Don’t let them notice. I don’t have time.
Beg you to come.’
After that, he covered the letter with bubbles and threw them out.
...
“Kestrajed. It’s me, Saige Losanges.”
The door hit the liquid in front of her beautiful, pace face.
“In, in, now.”
The pretty dull brown hair came inside.
“What is wrong?”
“Can you explain this?” - Kestrajed took from his long wavy hair a dark wet hair, white, ill young man.
Losanges stood in silence.
Her face turned white, depressed white with terrifying, guilty and angry.
“What have you done to him?”
“I didn’t. He got into the water himself.”
“Oh, Maren.” - the woman cried and held his hands.
“He got into your father’s dead gate.” He explained. “I don’t why he knew that but, I did not think he wants to die, so, I dropped the party to kick him back. Until I saw his madness.”
Saige shook her head.
“I wanted to kill him.”
“No” She whispered.
“No, I didn’t. He said your name.”
Kestrajed kneed down next to her tearful face.
“How did you know?”
“I have known for, like, ever. I realize he was the man you sneak out to see.”
He held her hands.
“He rushed into the water for his fiance, when he fainted, he said her name, and now, he’s probably feeling her around... But, you can’t have him.”
Tears fell out their hands.
“Can I have some last words?”
“Do I need to go out?”
...
Saige hands passed on the moral skin. Every touch was timeless, but her heart still went on and on.
She looked back the time when Maren first saw her emerging from the ocean’s surface and asked:
“How long have you been diving? How can you dive without getting your clothes wet? Are you a magician?”
And laughed at his stupidness.
Her fingers lightly glide through his hair. Their second meet was destiny.
“Hey!”
“Hey?”
“Yeah? What’s wrong?”
“So, hey is hi?”
“Yeah, what’s the matter?”
“And yeah is yes.”
“Sort of. Are you ok?”
“Yes.”
“Still remember me?”
“You’re... you’re... the boy with the ridicu... lously creative question.”
Losange remembered his red, shame face when he muttered: “What the hell?”
“Don’t talk like that, kid.”
“I’m not a kid and you’re not my mom, weirdo.”
Yeah, she would probably be his great-grandma and an elderly lady forgive foolish 15-year-old.
She giggled.
Her brown, straight hair slipped onto his shoulders. She watched him sleep. So peaceful, not like the day she found him miserable in his scars.
“Are you ok?”
He turned around, his deep brown eyes cried in pain and squelch.
“What’s happened?”
His replies started their story.
Saige peeked at his hand, knee, and trousers. Just like the day he knew the truth. He rushed down the streets, and sand, to see her and said: “I love you.” He said nothing about her life with spirits and gods, cause he doesn’t care.
“How can I love after 200 years of disappointment, hurts and pains?” - She questioned herself.
She bent down.
Her lips gently touch his.
They were passionate and sweet.
And the moment broke itself. She stood up and left.
But something grabbed her hands.
“Saige...”
She stepped back and peek at his eyes.
“Please...”
She left in tears.
...
“Kestrajed?” - Maren mumbled in weakness. He couldn’t move his legs.
“Huh?”
“How did you become a sea spirit?”
“I was born as a half-god. But I traveled and asked for the Ocean king to become a spirit.”
“Why?”
“Because I had no choice. Or I’m a useless man or a full-god. There’s no between.”
“Why did you become a half-god?”
“My mother was a human, she fell for a spirit and accepted his difference, she married him.”
“Umm...”
“What?”
“Do you love her?”
“Yes, she’s the best mother.”
“No... Saige.”
“Uh... Yes, she’s the most rebel goddess I’ve ever met.”
“Then, why can’t she choose me?”
“BECAUSE YOU’RE A HUMAN.” - A powerful voice replied.
...
Maren kneeled in front of the enormous, vigorous emperor of the endless blue arms.
“HOW CAN YOU STILL BREATH?”
“I stole my fiance’s magical ocean charm right the day she disappeared.”
“A THIEF! A LIAR! NO ONE HERE IS YOUR FIANCE.”
“Saige Losange is.”
An unexpected, impolite noise covered the grand hall.
“SILENCE.”
“TODAY. I SHALL BEHEAD YOU, THIEF.”
“I’m not a thief, you are. You’ve stolen the freedom, love, hope and, dreams of your beloved daughter, and now, you are stealing my life. But, you can never ever steal my faith and love for Saige.”
“SHUT UP.”
Then, the king pulled out a giant sword from the water and... The colossal gate bang the water.
“STOP.”
Saige Losange annoued:
“I want to be the one to kill him.”
Her father glared at her.
“I want to kill the mortal who insulted me.”
She looked at the victim’s brave, emphatic eyes. Without waiting or hesitating, she pulled out a knife and stabbed Maren.
He slowly closed his eyes and fell down.
Time froze till the moment Losange died.
