Twins

Have you ever heard of twins sharing everything? What about them sharing each other’s thoughts? This story doesn’t have anything to do with that but it’s nice to wonder about the different possibilities that could happen if it did. Could you imagine if twin females did share a boyfriend and didn’t know about it? That would be hard as twins are known to tell their counterpart everything unless they are male twins as guys are known for talking amongst each other about sharing females. But let’s get all the negativity out our heads as we observe the story that’s about to unfold. One day while she was working out Remi ran into an old acquaintance of hers from college. His name was Mike. She would usually run a few miles around the park after working out but this particular day she decided to go to an actual track. She used to run track at a high school that was a few blocks from where she stayed. After running for about 5 miles she decided to go treat herself to Starbucks. She decided to order a mocha latte and when she paid for her drink all she heard was a voice whisper in her ear “hey squirrel you came a long way since college.” She turns around and behind her was someone she used to study with all the time in college named Mike. Back in school Mike was not as muscular and didn’t have a chiseled chin like he does now. She replied, “So have you Mike.” In school they use to call her squirrel because she was small and petite and didn’t weigh that much but she moved fast. Mike and Remi were close in college but never got romantically involved even though the signs were there. One day when they were studying at the library he met her twin sister Hemi. Hemi was more outgoing and partied more but they both could be the life of the party at any instant. One night Mike had been drinking because of something that happened in his personal life and he mistook Hemi for Remi and kissed her. After she slapped him and told him she wasn’t her sister he felt bad and left. After that night he didn’t talk to either of them again and avoided them. They got their coffees and started catching up and Remi brought up the situation and asked what happened. He told her that he felt ashamed and that he thought she wouldn’t want to talk to him after he kissed her sister so he focused on school and changing his look as he didn’t want to be seen as looking like a nerd anymore. He told her that he started working out more and started a protein diet and she told him that she became a vegan and that her and her sister shares a house just 20 blocks away and that she runs back as exercise. He told her that he stayed a few states away and he was in town for a business venture. He studied Psychology in college and she studied Biology and he became CEO of a big company. It had been 10 years since they graduated and both their lives were going good as she was the manager of her own company. They started laughing as they were reminiscing about the good old days and asked if any of them thought they would be where they were today. As more time passed she invited him to dinner so he could talk to her sister and be reminded again of the embarrassing moment that led them on different paths. He said that he had a few more meetings left and that he would make it. The time now was 1:00pm and she had to go by her office and make sure things were right. They hugged, exchanged numbers and parted ways. She went by her office and checked in on a few things then left and went to the grocery store. She wanted to make something special as running into Mike brought up some old feelings that she buried and she wanted the night to be spectacular. She called her sister who owned a beauty salon as she studied chemistry but was better at doing hair and it brought her a lot of money so she decided to pursue that career and it was much more profitable. During the phone call she told her sister that they were having someone over but didn’t tell her who as she wanted that to be a surprise. She then asked what she would like to cook for dinner as her sister wasn’t a vegan. She said to surprise her so Remi decided to make some shrimp Alfredo. She decided that she would make some beans and rice for herself. Remi also went to the wine shop and got the finest bottle of cabernet she could find. When Hemi got off she went to the liquor store and got some crown royal. Remi was the more elegant twin and Hemi was the more eccentric. When Hemi got home Remi was already almost done with cooking the Alfredo so she started setting the table. After setting the table she decided to help her sister in the kitchen and since the Alfredo was almost done Hemi started cooking beans and rice for her. With her sister working on the beans and rice and the table being set Remi decided to go take a another shower. After the beans and rice was finished Hemi decided that she would go find the wine glasses that they haven’t used in awhile. They were in the garage but it’s not like they had been stored there for awhile, they were only there since they had hosted a dinner party which was about a month ago. She grabbed a few glasses out the box and went back up the stairs to go wash them. When she came up her sister was out the shower and dressed into a nice black dress and she awed and said that the guy that was coming must be special. She was so busy getting things set that the idea of the only guy who could get this much from attention from Remi had eluded her. Hemi proceeded to wash the glasses and set them on the table and went to take a shower herself. When she came down she was dressed in a plaid tie shoulder overall dress that looked great. It was now 7:00pm and Mike was coming soon. Hemi asked her sister one last time who was coming and Remi still didn’t tell her. Like most guys Mike was late and we he got there it was 8:00pm and he brought a nice bottle of Merlot. When Remi answered the door she was mad but Mike quickly explained that the meeting went longer than expected and presented her with the bottle of wine that he brought as a gift. They kissed each other on the cheek and continued into the house. She yelled out to her sister and said that the guest of honor was finally here and when he walked into the dining room all Hemi said was that she should have known who it was from all the energy her sister had and she got up and hugged Mike. They sat down and opened the bottle of cabernet and before they continued Mike asked was it ok if he brought someone else to join them. When she heard this Remi quickly made an assumption in her head that he had a wife or girlfriend but didn’t say that out loud and they said it was ok and he made a phone call. When he hung up the phone a knock became on the door. He insisted that Hemi get the door and when she opened it was his brother Kurt. They had only met Kurt once and that’s when he had come to their school to play against them in basketball. Kurt was a few years older and had been playing basketball overseas for the past few years and finally gave it up to pursue his career of being a chef and if anybody wanted Hemi’s heart it was through food. She hugged him and invited him in and when he walked in the room Remi got up and hugged him and looked at Mike and said that he didn’t tell her his brother was in town. He said he didn’t know and that he only found out a few hours ago. After getting acquainted and caught up the dinner party continued for a few more hours as everyone was having a good time talking and laughing and talking about old days as well as telling each other about their ventures and how they ended up successful black people in a world where it is hard to do so. After they finished talking the twins grabbed the dishes and took them to the kitchen to wash them and while they were washing them the brothers were talking about investing together. After the dishes were washed Remi and Hemi came back to the table and the four of them finished the next wine bottle and as the brothers were about to leave they were asked to stay a little while longer. The four of them decided to watch a movie and Mike came up with this idea that they should try to stay up all night and the losers would have to buy the winners a new car. Mike arrived around 8:00pm and his brother 10minutes after and the dinner was an hour but the conversations lasted for 2 hours so it was now 11:00pm. They decided that they would watch The Departed. Which was about three hours long and it was about this undercover cop infiltrating a mafia family and a field agent working for the mafia family and the head of the mafia family being an informant for the FBI. After three hours had passed which would normally mean things were going to get X-rated because of the time but none of them were thinking about that as they enjoyed each other’s company. As it just so happened Kurt was friends with the guy who owned the ice skating rink downtown and decided that that could be their next endeavor. They got their jackets and everybody got into Kurt’s Cadillac escalade. On the way to the rink Kurt made a phone call and by the time they got there they were greeted by Kurt’s friend. He told them that he would allow them to skate for an hour as he owed Kurt a favor. Mike and Remi danced together on the rink but it wasn’t much of dancing as Mike wasn’t that great of a skater and Remi was moving as if she was a contestant in the winter Olympics. Hemi and Kurt did not fare well as neither of them were great skaters but were good enough not to fall down. Remi started dancing circles around Mike and then slowed down and grabbed his hands and moved with him to help him dance with her. Did I mention that Kurt’s friend was the DJ and he was playing music the whole time and started to play r&b songs. The song my, my, my by Johnny Gill came on and that’s when they started dancing as it was a very romantic song. Hemi and Kurt got off the ice and took off their skates to start dancing as neither of them could dance on ice and Remi and Mike were having an intimate moment and at the climax of the song the two soon to be couples were kissing. When the song finished they started to leave and realized that they had been there for 2 hours and that Kurt’s friend had left them there but sent a security guard to escort them off the lot so he could clean things up. It was now 4:00am and they had a few more hours to spare. As they were driving Remi spotted a karaoke bar that stayed open until 6 and they stopped there. Upon entering the bar they ran into one of Mike’s business partners and he introduced them and gave them tickets to a game later that day. They went into the bar and sat down as someone was singing already. Hemi went and entered their names into the pool so they would be up next. Hemi and Kurt’s song was “Roberta Flack the closer I get to u.” What Mike and Kurt didn’t know was that Hemi had a beautiful singing voice and turned down a chance to be a professional singer and she blew the crowd away when she hit the high note. The bar erupted in a load uproar as the song ended and everyone was amazed. The next song to play was “if this world were mine by Luther Vandross.” Remi also had a great voice but the biggest surprise was Mike who was surprisingly a good singer as opposed to back in college. Their duet was breathtaking as they had chemistry that no one had ever seen before, not even from professional singers. When they were done there was another uproar and they bowed and curtsied and sat down to enjoy the rest of the night. It was now 6:00am and they were seemingly out of activities. As no ideas came to any of them they decided to go to a doughnut shop. Just as they were about to leave the shop after 30minutes Remi and Hemi ran into their friend who has just so happened to open up a new gym and invited them to come check it out. They agreed but told her that they would have to go change because they would want to work out when they finished touring it. They drove back to the twins’ home and changed and while the twins were changing the guys went to Walmart and bought some workout gear. They drove back to the house and the girls were ready. They then proceeded to the gym and was amazed at how tech savvy it was. It had a pool area and the security system was high grade, it also had a basketball and tennis court and the highest graded equipment money can buy. It had 3 floors and the first floor was where the courts and pool were located. The second floor was where u could find leg, thigh and ankle workouts and the third floor was where all the upper body workouts were located. After the tour they all separated and went on separate workouts and decided to meet up at the basketball court when they were done working out. It was 6:15am when they were done getting doughnuts and met their friend and the drive back and forth was approximately 45minutes which made it 7:00am when they got to the gym. After a few hours of working out it was now 9:00am and they all met up at the basketball court and decided to play a friendly game to the score of 10. They started playing as it was the girls vs the guys which was kind of unfair and to their surprise the twins could actually play but they still went easy on them as it was just to have fun and the game lasted longer than it should with all the grabbing, hugging, and play tackling they were doing. Nobody actually won the game because they stopped taking score and they just had fun being in each other’s company. When they were done the twins thanked their friend and said they had great time and left. It was now 10:00am and they had been up for the whole night and no one fell asleep or quit the bet so they stopped by Starbucks and got some coffee and headed home. That was the most eventful night either of them had in a while and they were thankful that neither of them had to work that day. They got back to the twins’ house and got out and walked them to the door and gave them kissed and hugs and were about to leave when they were asked if they wanted to come in.
