Promises (Chapter One: Betrayal)

I made the promise years ago, the promise that I would go back to my world, yet have to leave behind the beauty of this one. There isn't much war here compared to my world and everything is so much more lively. I can't help but want to stay longer than I was welcomed.

I turn around making sure that no one else was near, only to hear footsteps coming closer, I quickly got up and escaped the area. My world would not be very happy with me if someone died mysteriously in the human world from drowning in a forest, the day before I'm supposed to be gone. Karthra, I'm such a mess.

I keep on running, through the trees and all of the bushes, making sure not to turn into my four form, or what humans call a deer. If I were to be caught transforming then that would be quite bad if a human saw me.    

Even though I do missions like these to find out more about other worlds all the time, this is the first one that I have ever been attached to. My kind isn't supposed to become attached to other worlds, it's dangerous, the people here could die if I were to stay for longer than I am supposed to.

I stop running, knowing that humans cannot follow me, with their inefficient speeds and their heigh exhaustion levels. The humans are in some ways different from my kind, they do not have the same power we do, yet they can still make these odd weapons and what they call machines to make themselves be at the top of the food chain, it is honestly quite scary when you think about it.

I start walking out of the forest in search of a lake or an ocean so I can find Min. My bare feet touch the sands which means that I am probably near water. I look up and see the ocean, sad and filled with more trash then wildlife. I look around to make sure no one is around, I close my eyes to focus then I lift up my hands, chanting a spell to pick up all of the litter around me. Then I open my eyes because my hands start to hurt and I have to get this done quickly.

I take all of the litter and form it into what would be a kitrens' ball or what the humans would probably call our children. I throw the ball into a water loop, something that I use to send things to the research center.

If humans were to discover my homeworld then they would no doubt destroy it, capturing my kind to do their horrible tests on them and use our powers for their own advantage, that is the only bad thing about this "earth". The humans here are fascinating but are also some of the worst beings to ever roam the numerous galaxies.

Never have I seen a galaxy so ruined by one planet, there are wonderful creatures here but they are all in danger from what I can see, these humans are ruthless and kill for their own fun, not to help the environment, from what I have seen the humans have already made many of the animals in this world go extinct, which means to not be living anymore, or that there are none left.

I look into the water and see this multi-colored liquid in it. I touch it to see if it is safe only for it to burn my skin. I pull my hand back and use my powers to wash off the liquid. Afterward, my finger turns black and I try to wash it off with my clean water from my other hand but it doesn't come off "Great now I'm contaminated." I use my hand to make fire on the water to try and get rid of it, the liquid goes up in flames and turns into this putrid gas, I guess that is why they probably call what I have found gasoline.

They are destroying the planet they are living on by using this horrible smelling gas to make smoke and they are always using fire to keep warm, I just wish I could help them, but I'm only here to study their world from a distance, not to interfere. Sometimes while I am here it is hard to breathe, since I need oxygen too. The humans and my kind are not too different, they just are more destructive towards their wildlife and do not have our powers.

Oh, Karthra, I feel like I'm doing a report on them right now, all I need to focus on is finding my way back to Min so she can open the portal and get me out of here and so I can keep my promise. I dive into the water, going at what humans would call the speed of light.

I slow down to see a large animal to my left. I stop to touch it and look to my right and see what humans call a shark. I realize that it is going to attack this beautiful creature, so, even though it is against the rules, I create an air capsule and catch the shark, then I force olfilian into the air bubble so it will look like another shark killed it.

I pop the bubble, letting the shark die and my little "pets" follow me to Min. My legs start to feel the weight of the water pressure as I go deeper and deeper into the water. I feel my body go into its normal state, now that I don't have to worry about humans seeing my horns and my quite large galactic wings, I can let all of my stress go.

I see Min at the bottom of the ocean, her soft pale purple eyes and wings with her green and purple faded horns let me know that she is ready to open the portal. As I get closer I can see the worried expression on her face

I stop at the portal and see that it is bland and has almost no color. I look at her

"What is going on Min?"

"There is no time to explain Nifa, just get in!"

"No Min, tell me why the portal is not as much of a bright purple like it used to be!"

Min shoves me into the portal and follows closely behind me, maybe even too close but she uses her powers to keep my mouth closed so I don't ask any more questions

Once we reach the end of the portal she opens my mouth again and a meteor strikes down onto one of the Threon Galaxie's planets and I immediately look up to see what is going on only to see our galaxy being destroyed by the Krifians. Min turns into her four form, which is a jaguar so she will be much faster and be able to get to the heart quicker, the place that keeps us all alive.

I quickly go into four form of a deer and follow Min. As we speed through the battlefield I can feel the lost souls of my galaxy still trying to fight the invaders. Even though the Krifians are big in quantity they are not strong but they are hard to defeat, for one of my people there are almost eighty Krifians, and it looks like they brought their whole galaxy with them.

Min and I reach the galaxy's heart and see hundreds of Krifians attacking it, every time they hit the heart I can feel parts of our planets breaking off and dieing. My powers reach their max and I shout. Fire and acidic gas come from my body, causing an explosion and all of the Krifians to die.

I return to my two forms and walk over to the heart. I touch it, using the last of my strength to heal it.

"Go get the other galactics Min, we need them! Now!" I yell.

Min runs towards the field and looks back at me, the worry on her face comes back. I sense the presence of things coming closer and since I'm stronger with water I throw it at them, stopping their poison from even touching me, too much of it could kill anything.

I call for my olfilian and send them after the remaining Krifians. I thought we had a peace treaty, so this wouldn't happen and we could both live in silence, not war. Who am I kidding the Krifians always revert back to old habits, they are stubborn little creatures.

Min returns, with only two other galactics, Siveren and Eversley, two of the worst galactics in history. They cant even spawn in a whirl! I would be surprised if they could even help me protect the heart.

"I could only find them, I know that they are four formless right now but please let them help you, the rest of your kind is dead Nifa." Min says

"What do you mean they are dead, the rest of them were strong, and they had completed all of the courses, just like me, some of them were even better than me!" I explain

"Face it Nifa! We came here to help, not for you to downgrade us, just because we are new to this doesn't mean we can't help you! Siveren yells at me

"Fine, just get over here and help me heal the heart!" I look at them with a dangerous look in my eye and point to the heart

I show them how to heal it as I protect the heart. Oddly they do it quite well and Min joins me and makes vortexes for the Krifians to accidentally go into that lead them into my endless time loop.

Once the battle was over I congratulated Siveren and Eversley for how well they protected the heart, I thought everything would be normal but then as I walked back over to the heart there was one last Krifian destroying it, and he had completed his mission, almost milliseconds later the galaxy was crumbling at our feet.
