I woke up to a banging on my front door, I sat up in my couch, and realized it was still the middle of the night. it was middle summer, meaning that it got bright around 5:30 am. it was pitch black outside, so it had to be before 5:25 at the least.
I stood up off my couch, and I walked to the front door. I looked through the peephole, and I saw my friend. He looked very scared, without a second thought, I opened the door.
It was right then, when I remembered that my friend had killed himself 3 weeks ago, but by then, he had already run inside, breathing heavily. His hair was messy and slightly greasy. His clothes were dirty, and his arms had small cuts and dust.
He was dirty, and he looked tired. But he seemed ok. "William?" I asked. He looked at me and said, "Yes, it's me. I know you think I'm dead, but I'm not!" I shook my head. "I watched you shoot yourself in the head!" I shouted, louder than I should have.
He flinched and shrank backwards, looking more timid than normal. "Who are you?" My voice was solid and stern. "I'm William, your friend. Danny, I promise." I shook my head, "William shot himself in front of me. I watched as the blood from his head pooled beneath him. I heard his body hit the ground. I watched the ambulance take him away, and I watched them put his body 6 feet in the ground. You, are not William."
His face paled, I assume at the details. But he shook his head. and exclaimed desperately. "If I'm dead, why the hell would I be here right now?!" "I don't fucking know!!!" I shouted, feeling confused, angry, scared, and sad.
"How can I tell you're even real? How can I know you're not some sort of hallucination?" I had lowered my volume, feeling tired, despite the absence of physical work. "I don't know how I can prove it. But you have to listen to me. Right now."
I felt a bit dizzy all of a sudden. "Shit, it's already happening." He said, seeming frustrated. "Just listen, I didn't die, the government is trying to stop me from. telling the world the truth, so to speak. I'm an anomaly, I'm not a human. They can't kill me. But they are trying."
I felt the dizziness getting worse, and I fell onto the couch. He continued speaking. "I can turn you, and we can talk via telepathy. But you have to trust me." I looked up at him, my vision going double. "What if I don't?" His face went grim, "If you don't, the world may end. You're the last hope for humanity."
I shook my head, "William, I'm 19. I can barely make it by in the world without all this." He scoffed. "So? Are you a pathetic bullshit bitch baby? What happened to the fearless, take on the world, Danny I knew?"
My head grew thick with fog. I couldn't think straight anymore. But I knew that if the world was at risk of ending. I had to try. "Fine. Do it." I said, before everything went dark."
Eventually, I woke up, lying on my couch, but now there was an itch in the back of my head. It felt like something scratching the inside of my skull, trying to get out.
I looked at the door, and it was wide open. I knew if the government caught William, they wouldn't leave it open. But would he leave it open? I sat up, and I heard a noise in the kitchen.
I looked at the kitchen, and I stood up. Goosebumps riddled my arms and my back. I felt danger, and I felt my arm twitch, then a ripple in my skin, like water. I looked down, and I saw my arm transform into a longer, more slender hand, with long, skinny fingers, the tips were sharp enough to cut cloth.
Suddenly, I heard a voice in my head, it wasn't William. (Perfect for killing.) My eyes widened, and I looked at the kitchen again. I felt an urge to rip the person's throat out, to murder them, and make sure they never wake up again. I quivered, fearing my own thoughts, but I knew I had to investigate.
I walked forward. "Who's there?" I asked, and I heard something fall. I turned on the light, and I saw a masked man, he had a knife, and a bag. Obviously robbing me. (Kill him!) The voice screamed in my head, and almost out of my own control. My arm slashed at him, slitting his throat.
He collapsed, writhing for a couple of seconds, before going dead still. I stumbled back, tripping on my own feet, and landing on my ass. I could feel his blood on my fingers. (Good job), The voice said quietly.
"How was that good?" (You already know the weak points of humans. That's good). "What? Who are you?!" (I am) The voice paused for a moment, as if it were thinking. (Your new friend.)
I shook my head, "No, what are you?" I heard the voice chuckle, the sound small, but creepy enough to send shivers down my spine. (The alien that William put inside your head.) "What?!" I yelled in fear. "NO! Get out of my head! You can't be real!" I was screaming, very loudly, and I remembered the body in the kitchen.
(Feed me.) I froze. "What?" (the body, feed it to me. Now.) "But-" (-Now, child!) I walked to the body. (Shut your eyes. Don't open them until I say.) "Ok," I mumbled out, feeling scared and confused.
I felt my entire arm transform into something big. probably a giant mouth. A couple of seconds later, the voice said (It is safe to open your eyes.) I opened my eyes and noticed the body was gone, and so was the blood. "I have questions. Lots" (You get 5 for right now.)
"Will I get more later?" (Maybe. 4 left) "Hey, that doesn't count!" (Yes, it does. Now ask me the questions.) I sighed, but asked, "What's your name?" (I do not have a name.) "Well, in that same question, what will I call you?" (Hmm, fine. You can call me Zaloid.) "Ok, then. Where are you from?" (I am from a planet, many trillion miles away. There are many more of us. However, we all have the same goal.)
I froze, "Goal? What goal?" (to restore the earth to its former glory.) "With humans? Or without?" (with humans.) "Ok, last question" (You already gave five.) "Please?" (Fine.) "Do you replicate, or reproduce in any way?" (Yes, we do reproduce.)
I nodded. I wanted to learn more about their survival instincts, the way they eat, and how they survive. I suddenly wondered, why am I not freaking the fuck out right now? There's an alien inside my head!
Will this go on?
