Journal Entry #1

Log entry of 11/19/XX. We’ve been traveling for a week now. The S.S. Sweetstar is still charging on. The girl’s still in good condition, we shouldn’t have to worry about repairs anytime soon. Laura, however, isn’t doing so well. Poor lass is getting sea-sickness bad. I hope she won’t vomit all over my journal...

I’ve been doing alright, in contrast to her. My rations are still plentiful, and my hygiene is still in good check. I pray to Poseidon that calm seas are ahead of us.

 Anthony Wryvain, signing out.

Journal Entry #2

Another week has passed, poor Samuel has gotten sick with the flu, he’s coughing and sneezin’ up a storm here. We’ve locked him in his chambers.

Laura’s doing better as of late. She’s finally started participating in the chores on the ship. She’s not too pleased with having to clean the hull for barnacles, though…

Not much has changed besides that though, be back for more updates. Someone has to make sure we go down in history.

Journal Entry #4

Haha! I’m great, I’m incredible! I’m the Master Fisher of the Seven Seas! Hauled up a giant fish the size of a whale, I tell ya! Papa’s fishing lessons finally paid off! As long as we save the fish, that big boy’ll feed us for 2 weeks! Poseidon has blessed us with this beauty. May he bring us better fortune along the way.

 Anthony Wryvain, signing out.

 Journal Entry #6

Pirates came to our ship and said we either give up all our valuables or give our ship over. Had to give my watch. Being a clever bastard, Laura gave em’ her very uncomfortable jacket, whining and whining about how her mother made it for her.

She didn’t make it at all, that was Laura’s first work as a seamstress, she was dying for a way to get rid of it. I Gotta say, she’s a clever one. Whoever’s gonna be her husband is one lucky guy.

Lyren wasn’t so lucky...had to give em’ her prized harmonica. Lucky they didn’t see her hide her prized locket. Her husband gave it to her before Hades took him.

Samuel gave them his vest, Ashley gave them one of her combs, Paul his chain, the captain his hat, and Romoe their scarf.

We lost a lot today. Hope nothing else bars our path. The captain is dead set on finding Mystic Falls.

 No matter the cost.

 Anthony Wryvain, out.

Journal Entry #15

We lost someone today. Ashley Harthorne has officially left us. Swam towards some rocks claiming that the peasant boy she liked was calling her from afar. She knew the sirens were comin’ up close, the captain ordered us to plug our ears with wax.

Shame she died, I mildly enjoyed hearing her talk about her various combs.

But Hades waits for no one.

 Not even l⬛a⬛s and ch⬛⬛t⬛rs of ⬛⬛⬛th.

(Eight letters are blacked out for some reason.)

Journal Entry #24

UNDER ATTACK! WE’RE UNDER ATTACK! HARPIES ARE COMIN’ STRAIGHT FOR OUR HEADS! SAID ASHLEY SENT THEM TO TAKE CARE OF US TO BE BROUGHT TO THE UNDERWORLD! CAPTAIN’S GOING BALLISTIC! THE SHIP’S GONNA-

(The rest of the entry is covered by blood.)

 Journal Entry #25

That was a grave loss for us. The ship capsized, the harpies completely capsized her. Samuel and Romoe died too. Harpies clawed their stomachs out. The captain’s been in the most depressive state I’ve seen him in yet. Seas are too strong for us to swim, we don’t have any flare guns. The most we can do is pray to the gods that we’ll be saved soon.

Anthony Wryvain, out.

(Entries 26-35 are torn out by something.)

 Journal Entry #40

We’re still trying to figure out how to contact help. Praying to Hermes has been no good, so we’re trying out other ways to figure it out. The captain seems more stressed than usual today. He keeps muttering about “Britty” and, “How she’ll be so upset if he doesn’t return home”. He keeps calling me a traitor for some reason.

We found a box with strange symbols a couple of days prior. The rest of us are still debating whether or not we should open it. I say we should, but everyone else keeps sayin’ hold off on it. It’s just some box, what could be so dangerous about it?

 Anthony Wryvain, out.

 Journal Entry #42

This is it. It’s over. We can never make it to Mystic Falls. We’re doomed to wander the world forever while other heroes seek better wonders and achievements.

Marie, Anna, forgive me. I couldn’t come back to you two. My sweet wife...My sweet daughter. My aching bones and decaying skin ache for your warmth.

Shall you never forget me in your hearts.

 For the last time,

Anthony Ysseal Wryvain, over and out for good.

(The last two pages of the journal are filled with dried tears. Apart from an excerpt of-)

I finished what you started.

Diary Entry #1

It’s been 10 years since Papa disappeared. Even now, a piece of me still refuses to believe he’s gone. Mama says he went down a hero, I really believe he did. Now Mama has given me a new papa, but he doesn’t feel like my Papa. I’ve heard the common folk still talk about Papa and his expedition.

The nice baker talks about a girl he liked as a teenager who always carried about a billion combs with her at all times. Kayley keeps talking about her awesome sailor mom that gave her her locket before she left on the expedition. She got two copies from the blacksmith long ago just in case she lost one.

And Mama is doing a lot better too. She doesn’t refuse to eat with me and makes dollies for me again. Yet still, it feels like the world is moving on too fast for Papa to catch up.

But that’s alright. I’ll stand still for Papa. I’ll stay still in one place for Papa to come back.

Cause my papa is the best captain the seas ever saw. I know he’ll come back, the gods of Olympus will make sure of it!

 Papa’s best girl,

 Brittany Irene Smith
