Trevor was like every other 11-year-old nerdy boy. Star Wars, DnD, and Warhammer 40k took over his life. He didn't just read the books and comics; he lived them out. He became so immersed that he started writing his own fan fiction. Then, one day, his older brother came home with multiple sets of cool-looking dice. There was a glossy glittering purple set and a clear resin set with little animals. Then there were two metal sets: a copper metal set with black numbers and a gold set with white numbers. When Trevor laid eyes on the metal sets he began hearing a low humming sound. It grew louder as he stared at the gold set. "Can you hear the humming?" asked his older brother. "Yes, why you ask?" responded Trevor. "The clerk at the game store convinced me to buy these two sets. It only cost me $150 for both of them but the other sets were free. Anyway, he said that we should put half in one hand and half in the other and just concentrate." said his brother. "What? Why?" asked Trevor. "I don't know I was just told to go home and try it." answered his brother. "Ok then so do we just choose which set or what?" asked Trevor. "Whichever one hums the loudest when you get near it." his brother confidently answered as he held up the copper set and put one half in one hand and half in the other. He closed his eyes and then breathed deeply and exhaled slowed. Soon a gold-sparkling mist swirled around him and covered him until the mist glowed brightly and in his place, a short big bearded man with armor was in his brother's place. "Where am I?" asked the short man. "Wow. This is so cool," said Trevor. He grabbed the gold set and did what his brother had done. When he closed his eyes he he saw a fuzzy figure walking over to him as the figure cleared he was covered head to toe in polished gold-looking armor. "Thank you for freeing me." said the man. As soon as he said that Trevor found himself in the middle of a black void looking at a crystal-looking mirror of where he stood. "This is so weird and AWESOME!" shouted Trevor, throwing his arms up in excitement. Once Trevor gained control over himself he looked through the crystal mirror thing. Instead of being near the same height as the bearded man he had to look down at him. "You're not human are you?" asked the short bearded man. "You're a dwarf aren't you?" responded the mysterious man. "I, at least you can remember something. However, if I'm not mistaken you must be an elf. You pointy-eared immortal." said the dwarf. "Actually I'm half-elf. My dad was an elf, my mother was human." said the half-elf. That would explain the height difference as well as the armor. "Wow, so this person is a half-elf, so cool." Trevor's little nerdy brain almost exploded from excitement. "Do you know where we are?" asked the half-elf. "Nay. I appeared here right before you did. In fact, a little boy was in your place. He put something in his hand, closed his eyes and soon enough you appeared." said the dwarf. "So the people who freed us were just boys?" asked the half-elf. "I don't know about the person who freed me but I do think they're related in some way." said the dwarf. "Interesting." said the half-elf as he began to look around the house. "Weird little house. It feels so familiar yet so foreign," he said. "Aye, It's like I'm supposed to know why this place is important but I can't remember. In fact, all I know is what I am and my family but nothing else." said the dwarf as a golden mist swirled around him and in his place, Trevor's brother stood before the half-elf. "Wow, that was really cool and really terrifying," he said he then looked at the half-elf who towered over him. "Trevor, if you can hear me your guy is so cool looking. He even has a really cool-looking sword," said Trevor's brother unable to control his excitement. The half-elf looked at him weirdly and soon the golden mist swirled around him and Trevor was back to where he was. "Wow, that was cool. How did you feel?" asked Trevor's brother. "It was so weird. It was like I was in their body but not their mind," said Trevor. "Yeah, but it was so cool. We should see if can show these off to Mom and Dad," said Trevor. "Or we can go back to the game store and show the guy what our dice can do. I wonder if he could give us tips on these sets' work." said Trevor's brother. "Ok, let's do that and then when we come we can show our parents." said Trevor.
That was the last normal day of Trevor's life. In the following months, he learned a lot about the half-elf that lived in his dice set. His name was Karamo Bronzebranch. He was a paladin of the Great Lion Gods more specifically the White Son. He was 130 years old and was fighting a lich when he found himself in the dice set. Over time Trevor and his brother got introduced to others like them and formed the group the Dice Changers. They began fighting crime and then a cult, after which the group split, Trevor and his brother were the only other two that stayed along with Arron and Nick. They then had to rescue Arron and a bunch of victims from a group of sex traffickers. Later that year Trevor's brother had to move to college. Trevor and Karamo began to be so bound to each other they could live in each other's minds and have conversations. Later Trevor had to fight sirens but barely survived the encounter as their powers nearly drove Trevor to insanity and almost became one of their slaves. Throughout his time he was pushed by his friends and family. He never became as prominent as Nick, Arron, Jack, or Mia but he was always there to help in any way he could. Trevor's life was changed forever he became a hero and fought villains and monsters and to think such a little gift caused all of it still blows Trevor's mind to this day.
