Christian Fantasy Romance

"We have all the time in the world." said my wife as we stared into each other eyes, as we have hundreds of times before. Of course, she was speaking from someone who is a half-elf, half-orc whose sense of time does not quite align with people like me. See, I too am a half-orc but my life expectancy at best is 65-120 years old, my wife's though is nearly 500, it also does not help that she is already 193 years old. Meanwhile, I just turned 21 almost a month ago.

So, how did we meet you might be asking. Well, it kind of depends on who you ask. Like if you ask me, we met while we were adventurers on the same quest and happened to be in the same tavern. However, if you ask her, she would give you the following:

"It was just like all the other quests, but this one was different because for once I found someone whose wits, and goals were the same as mine. This was confirmed when we first locked eyes. His muddy brown eyes told me everything I needed to know, that he was destined to be mine and mine alone. I also noticed that the way he carried himself was very different than what I have seen. We copied the quest from the quest board and when we first set off I helped him find the road we needed to go down. When we got to the halfling village where the quest was to be fulfilled, we went to the mayor's office to ask more about it. Apparently, some bandits have caused several problems and need to be stopped. "So do your guards need help, or do you not trust them" asked my future husband. "My guards are ill-equipped to handle these types of crooks. My guards are trained to stop an act before things get worse, however, these crooks have been attacking all kinds of targets in different areas. My best men can not seem to find a pattern in their behavior, hence why I call upon anyone who is willing to aid us." the mayor answered. "Well I can assure you there is a pattern to their actions," I said. From my vast experiences with hit-and-run tactics, my future husband and I looked up all the places that were attacked. After some time we realized that in each attack the location had a high percentage of non-magicians, and they were places of knowledge, several were temples, some were taverns, and many others were libraries. With these connections in mind, we tried to predict which place would be next. After eliminating several potential places we predicted that the next place the bandits would attack is a Chrissten church. Just a couple of blocks away. So we went in and told the priest there what we were doing and why. "I see, but if you are correct you may stay here as long as you need if it means getting rid of those evil bandits, and may the True God judge them with fairness." So for the next couple of days, we watched and waited. We told each other of our other adventures and truly got to know each other. Then on the fourth night, we heard a loud bang from the bottom of the floor. We slept in the pews near the middle to give us cover. Anyway, we woke up to see 4-6 bandits. we fought, I struggled a lot with the first one, but my future husband quickly disarmed, and smote at least half of them. After seeing most of their forces be defeated in such a short time the survivors surrendered. After taking them to the guardhouse and asking them questions we were told that the group was a very anti-magic, anti-tall group. They were trying to scare tall people into leaving their country because, in their words "Every country is ruled by the tall and those under midget control are under the watchful eye of the giants. We want a country free from giant control. We want to feel as if we are giants ourselves." After some more investigating we found their leader was a gnome wizard named Lord Dah. who seemed very out of touch with the real world. we tried to knock him out, but he used a magic missile on himself, thus committing suicide. We returned to collect what was promised and more. After some more adventures, my future husband finally proposed. It was after we slayed an entire pack of rogue druids somewhere in the Purple Caves. I became a Chrissten soon after because he showed me the truth, and I believed. We then got married a year later since a war broke out between our tribe, the Spears, and the Hammers. After it was over we got married near Shaff's Lake. we were dancing and my now husband turned to me and asked "So when do you want to start our new family?" Then I said, "We won't have to worry about all that. We have all the time in the world". That is how we met." Now I will say that is a lot to take in, however, that is how my wife likes to tell our love story. It has been an interesting road for us, but time and time again our faith has pushed us to be better, it was why we became adventurers to begin with. Whether we realize it or not. Now I do understand if you have not seen it yet, but a lot of the reasons our relationship works so well is not just because we have the same level of wits and can duel each other all day, every day, but our love stems from the our love of the True God. As I look back I see how the quests we did brought us closer to him. All the enemies we fought allowed us to rely on his strength, not ours. It gave us hope, that one day we would be able to put our sword and shield up, and never have to pick back up again. But until then we will keep fighting, we will bring evil to its knees one way or another. I hope you dear reader understand and appreciate the past, present, and future adventures you go on, and if you're lucky, you may just find your own love of your life.
