The winds were blowing fiercely. While the clouds were assembling for a thunderstorm. Then all of a sudden a bolt of lightening struck the ground and I contemplated this scene from my window. Then someone called my name out of the blue. I turned back and saw a little furry animal with an egg-shaped head, almond shaped beady violet colored eyes, flippers and had a tail that was approximately 3 to 4 inches long. "Could you make yourself known" I requested information from the strange creature. "I am Manateeprairie; a creature that is a combination of two animals Manatee and Prairie dogs. Our generation is a result of Evolution. As Nowadays Manatees and Prairie dogs both are subject to extinction so new species of our generation are now evolving but we are also vulnerable to a serious issue". answered the outlandish creature.
"What kind of serious issue are you facing and where is your community?" I questioned. The creature replied patiently, "Our community lives in caves and we are subject to a disease known as Solar urticaria, it is a rare allergy to sunlight that causes hives to form on skin that's exposed to the sun and can even cause death. I am here to escape sunlight as now I think our cave is not a safe place anymore." Listening to all of this I became perplexed and inquired more that how can I help you in this matter. He asked me to help him to remain out of sight until the sunshine is over. The creature was so adorable that I could not say a No to him so I hid him inside an ancient box and asked him to stay there until another day. Next day the sun was shining brightly. The strong warmth, radiant rays entered into my amber colored, round beady eyes. The sounds of birds singing struck on my ears and it marked the beginning of a new morning. I woke up and got ready for my school. I gazed at the ancient box and recalled meeting with a bizarre creature. I immediately locked the ancient box so that not even a single sun ray could enter the box and left for the breakfast. Afterwards, I left for my school. Since the beginning of the session I was thinking about that creature and could hardly concentrate on the lectures. Secondly, we got our final assessment schedule. I was really worried as my preparation was not well and we had our assessments next week. Moreover, the units passed in the flick of an eye and it was home time. On the way home the thoughts of an ancient box and Manateeprairie captivated my mind. After reaching home and getting done with my meal, I was eagerly waiting for the darkness to cover the sky so that I could open that ancient box and get that outlandish creature out. Finally my patience ended and the sky was all wrapped up in darkness and not even as single ray was there. I intensely ran towards that ancient box and opened it. The strange creature was drowsy. I screamed his name, "Manateeprairie" Wake up! "Its dark now". The creature yawned and opened his almond-shaped beady eyes. His eyes had a spark of hope and satisfaction. I gave him some food to eat. He had the meal and we talked more for many hours. Furthermore, I explored more about this community and got to know more interesting facts and stories about them that astonished me. After this conversation I thought that the world is filled with many strange creatures but we are unaware of many and Manateeprairie is surely one of them. In addition days passed rapidly. I used to lock the ancient box every morning before leaving for school. One day I woke up late and left for school in haste, I forgot to to lock up that ancient box. As I reached the school I was in a deep thought that today I forgot to do some task which was indeed an essential one. After several thinking sessions I recalled that I forgot to lock the ancient box. Furthermore, it was my assessment unit so I could not leave the school before home time. I was frightened that if I will not leave early then I will not be able to rescue that innocent creature from radiant, warm rays of sunshine but I was helpless and had no second option, so I waited for the home time. The day seemed extended then finally after home time I reached my home. I immediately ran into my room and I saw that the ancient box was opened, the warm sun rays were entering the box. I was really terrified, I wanted to open the box and search for Manateeprairie but I could not gain enough courage.
Ultimately I gained some hope and decided to open the box and I had a positive thought that I would definitely meet Manateeprairie and he will be alright. Then I opened the ancient box, my eyes were closed, I gradually opened my eyes and saw that the ancient box was empty. All of a sudden tears rolled down my eyes and I had a regret in my mind that I lose an innocent creature Manateeprairie due to my carelessness and negligence. I was fearful and anxious, I screamed aloud Manateeprairie. My mum entered my room and I woke up. It was a nightmare. My was worried and she asked me that who was Manateeprairie. I told her the whole story. She noticed a book in my hand that was named The Endangered Species Manateeprairie. I opened the book and realized that I fall asleep while reading the book and the plot of the story resulted in my nightmare. I wondered if there are such creatures named Manateeprairie and if yes then how will they survive the warm, radiant light rays. I kept the book aside, stopped thinking more about those strange creatures anymore because these thoughts were causing me to develop a habit of overthinking which worried me a lot.

wow, fun story! It was quite interesting, tbh. Very captivating in a way, but it seemed a little rushed. So yeah :)

Hi Mathletes. This is a sweet story. I have detailed critique advice is you would like it, but if I can add just a few simple things, it would be to remember to start a new line when each time you use a different character's dialogue eg> "Don't stand there," I told him. "Why not?" he replied. Also you have an opportunity to reduce redundant words eg 'all of a sudden or 'then' But the story was sweet and its easy to read. :) I'd also appreciate any advice/feedback on my entry. But please don't feel obligated. https://blog.reedsy.com/creativ...
