Negativity.

Is in the in the eyes of the beholder.

Positivity.

Is in the eyes of who you believe.

In.

Who you believe.

In.

The rest is just “gravy.”

That way.

No knives are needed😁

In the stab backing world of back stabbing.😳🫵🏻?…….

To bunt.

To grunt.

To punt.

To stunt.

That is the question.

Life’s great questions.

Before drawing the knife back and letting it fly……..🌭

C’mon, basic human nature. Whispers in our ears, “Go on, do it, no one will know, no one will care.”

Oh. We silly, silly humans. Well. The athletic motto, “Just do it.” Says so, Right? Tells us so. Just keep doing it and eventually we will get it. Caught? Maybe not. Unraveled? Maybe so.

This formula is nit an exact science, provided we rely on science………

Thinking we can get away with things we try to get away with.

Only to be left holding the bag, the empty bag, of

Someone else.

Describing our intentions of sneakily sneaky-ness as “help.”

My God, “How did we get here?”

To this place in time?

I dunno.

How you got here.

I know.

How I did.

I know.

I knowingly know.

I know I knowingly knew.

I knew I knowingly knew.

But today.

I admit.

And.

Submit.

That was then. This is now.

What the future holds, is anbody’s guess.

Even the bestest, most revered, most noted, notable notaried accountant. Can fudge the bottom line in an effort to fix it.

Local.

Familial.

National.

International.

Picture this.

You. Yourself. And. You.

At the pearly gates of what you may consider your “heaven.”

Depending upon your beliefs, desires, thoughts, etcetera, etcetera.

Depending upon your scores to settle, the score keeping you have done, etcetera, etcetera.

Depending upon you age at the time of pearly gate entry, etcetera, etcetera.

Depending upon:

Who you left behind.

What you left behind.

Where you left them behind.

How you left them behind.

The one question that He never asks of us is,

”When.” (PP)

Yes.

No truer words of wisdom have ever been shared.

Spoken aloud even.

Questions.

Questions.

More Questions.

He never asks, “When.”

During this season.

Of Lent.

To some.

Of “ordinary” times.

REMINDER: We are all amateurs.

We play amateur “giver-uppers”.

We play amateur “helpers”.

We play amateur “deniers.”

We play amateur “doers”

We play amateur charitable wannabes”

We “do it” for a season.

For a reason.

Then.

We go right back to our fun-loving, gotta have this, gotta have that selves the other 325 days of the year, because we deserve it.

Right?

That Lenten stint.

That stint in Lenten rehab, was just to proof I COULD do it.

Not that I have to do it.

Oh. What tangled webs we weave when we practice to deceive. 😵‍💫

Who will you call on to hold you accountable?

The good news. He knows this. He knows our actions before we even think about them. He guides us ready, willing, and able-y.

Talk about smart.

He allows us to make our mistakes.

Gripe and grumble.

And He stands at the gates, waiting with the most generous of smiles.

Not an evil, creepy smile that says, “I told you so.” I knew you could not do it.

There are hundreds, thousands of way to dis-credit another.

Even a loved one.

A loved another.

It is only betrayal if you did not see it coming.

Betrayal is serious.

Betrayal is weakness.

Betrayal is knife-in-the-back-kinda-meanness.

With a wink, nod, creepy smile and pat on the back.

Sends chills up and down the spine,

Just thinking about it.

Let’s face it.

We have hit the point of

Saturation.

Buying someone a beer-No longer the rule.

Spiking the drink-The poisonous option of choice.

Dramatic endeavors of the bored and soulless.

Whaddya gonna do?

Just say, “No.”

Keep your hand on your own water bottle.

Keep your eyes on the prize.

As they say in high school driver’s Ed:

”Keep eyes moving.”

I don’t make the rules of engagement.

I don’t break the rules of engagement.

I just wish for the stab back ing of the back stabbing to cease.

A cease fire.

So to speak.

Make no mistake.

These times are not new.

These times are not old.

Good looks.

Looks good.

In the end.

As has been said many times before.

We all leave this work the same way we entered it:

Bald.

No teeth.

During our human journey down here.

The yammering, stammering, glammering is proof positive of our desire to not so much look bad as to hide under neath what we may really think,

or,

Know.

Knowingly Know.

Knowingly Knew.

Knew Knowingly.

But were utterly powerless in the moment to utter the words.

Bonded.

In fear.

Bonded for life.

Not a spiffy alternative.

Unless, of course, superficiality is the name of the game.

One of life’s greatest mysteries is to love one another as He loves you.

He knows.

How to.

Do it.

Correctly.

Unassumingly.

Honestly.

Without the strings of attachment of the ties that bind

The ties that bind the wrong kind of love to the wrong kind of loving.

It is only betrayal if you did not see it coming.

Even if and when this occurs. Is the case, makes no difference.

In His eyes.

Wonderful bonds of love exist.

Bonds occur in the most mysterious ways.

We hide the truth for hundreds, thousands of reasons. Some sensible, reasonable and all that “accountant-speak.”

When 1+1 does not equal 2, we tend to “freak out.”

Really freak out.

Really, really freak out.

For the freakish of us—for some- handsomely silently. Yet. For others, wild-eyed and loudly, for others squinty-eyed and desperately. For some wide-eyed and innocently.

For the Glam Squad: Seeking others while batting the eye lashes, hoping to out smart their mate. Complimenting eye lashes as a way to win favor. Any kind of favor to blow out of the pop stand one finds themselves forever stuck in.

Bring It On.

Sweet as sugar?…..in high quantities is bad for one’s health.

Never assume.

It makes an “a**” out of u and me.

and causes a whole lot of adventurous, albeit unnecessary complications of stab backing and back stabbing of the highest, highest order.

Protection. The name of the game.

Discretion. The better part of valor.

Coward. You?

Not my call. ‘Tis yours.

The ball may be in your (pickle) ball court.

Or not.

Subscribing to the artful dodger? And his ways?

Not my call. ‘Tis yours.

Or not.

It is only betrayal if you did not see it coming.

There is a lot to be said for dissociation.🌪️

There is a lot to be said for un-dependency.😵‍💫

There is never enough to be said about,

Knowingly knowing.
