Fiction Fantasy Bedtime

I tossed and turned in my bed. I just couldn’t sleep… Maybe it’s because I have the thought of a demon that might kill me in my sleep. For some context, my name is Malice and I have a guardian angel protecting me from his ex, who is a fallen angel demon. My guardian angel’s name is Sol and his ex’s name is Damien.

They have history in the skies realm. Sol told me that Damien was an angel once, but on the day that Sol was becoming king, Damien snuck into the crystal room and touched a dark crystal. Damien turned into a dark angel and he was kicked out of the skies realm and into the underground realm. That's when he turned into a fallen angel demon.

Sol also told me that he is assigned to protect me, while Damien is assigned to kill me. Sol and Damien haven't seen each other for 3 years and now that I'm involved in their 'relationship', they're... enemies... Their love just faded away. Damien decided to stay with Sol and I because he wanted to know why he was assigned to kill me, but I don't really trust him a whole lot.

I know that Sol put a protection spell on me, but I just get the feeling that I might die in my sleep because of Damien. I mean, I think the spell wore off now and Damien has the chance to hurt me at any minute. I just tossed and turned some more and soon closed my eyes. After a while, I felt something sharp on my neck. I opened my eyes to see Damien over me. My eyes widened.

“Hello, Malice,” Damien said with one dagger to my neck.

“Ooooh, Damien! What’s up?,” I said, sweating.

“Oh, nothing much... Just here to kill you!,” Damien said with an evil look in his eyes.

Damien lifted both daggers up in the air and was about to kill me. I braced for impact as I closed my eyes, but a ray of light appeared and I opened my eyes to see a light up sword in between Damien and I. I looked over to see Sol looking at Damien with a glare.

“Damien, you promise that you wouldn’t kill her,” Sol said with an angry expression in his voice.

“Well, I’m sorry. I just wanted to see what would happen if I did kill her,” Damien said frustrated.

Sol grabbed Damien daggers away and summoned a lock box and put the daggers inside of it and locked it.

“Hey! Give them back, Sol!,” Damien said, demanding.

“No, if you’re not going to control yourself, you don’t get your weapons back,” Sol said.

Damien growls at Sol and looks at him angry and disappears. Sol looks at me as he holds my hand and kneels down to my level. I sat straight on my bed.

“Did he hurt you?” Sol asked with concern in his voice.

I just shook my head. Sol sighs of relief as he gets back to his feet.

“Just call me if he tries to hurt you again, alright?” Sol told me.

I nodded to him and Sol disappeared from my room. Now it was just me… in the dark… alone… I lay back down on my bed and soon heard a whisper in my ear.

“I’ll kill you in your sleep,” a voice that sounded like Damien told me quietly.

My eyes widened as I sat back up in concern.

“Nope! I’m doing an all nighter! I don’t trust the night anymore!,” I said out loud to myself.

"But Sol said I should call him if Damien tries to hurt me... I also don't want to disturb him... I'll just do an all nighter," I told myself.

I just spent the rest of the night staying up. For a few minutes, I sat there hearing animals and creepy noises. I played on my Nintendo DS and my Nintendo Switch for a while, then read five books about dragons. Two hours later I drew Sol and I. I sat at my desk for a while because I couldn’t remember Sol's features. An hour later I finished the drawing, it looked pretty good in my opinion. I looked at what time it was and it was four A.M. in the morning.

The next thing I knew, it was morning. I heard my parents call my name and I got ready for school. Before I left home, I looked at myself in the mirror and saw how tired my eyes looked. I just frowned and walked out the door and off to school.

As I walked to school, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned my head to see Sol and Damien in their human forms. I gave them a tired smile as I continued walking to school.

“Malice? Are you okay? You look…-,” Sol was about to say something, until I said it for him.

“Tired? Yeah… I stayed up all night,” I told Sol.

I knew Sol was looking at me with concern, but I didn’t knowledge it, until Sol came in front of me unexpectedly.

“What?! Why would-,” Sol paused his words and looked behind me to Damien, who was looking away from Sol and I.

“Damien…,” Sol said with annoyance to Damien.

Damien looked at us with a grin of guilt. I looked over at Sol to see his eyes narrowing down at him.

“What, Sol? You think I did something?” Damien asked Sol with a childish tone to his voice.

“You kept Malice up all night!”, Sol shouted at Damien.

Damien gasps dramatically. “I did no such thing!” Damien added with a shocked expression trying to make us believe him.

I walked up to Damien and looked right up at him. He looked at my white and gray eyes as I looked at his gray ones.

“You whispered into my ear that you’ll kill me if I sleep, Damien. You can’t lie about it,” I said to him.

The demon just rolled his eyes at me and pushed me aside as he walked past Sol and I.

“I did kept you up all night. I watched you as you stayed up all night. You’re drawing of yourself and Sol was good,” Damien looked back at us smiling gently.

Damien continued to walk up ahead and Sol looked at me with a smile.

“I'm still mad that he kept you up all night, but I do want to see your drawing after school,” Sol said as he walked away from me.

I stood there in shock that Damien was watching me. It creeped me out a lot! I heard Sol call my name and I rushed over to him and walked with him and Damien on our way to school.
