I came into the room and everyone was seated except for a few that were still standing near the wall in the back and they were peering from thier spectacles, expectant and waiting I took the podium and cleared my throat and then went into a rant over how we should have our social security and our Medicaid and we should have peace with our neighboring countries and our allies and not be at war with them and not make war with anyone and our country was falling behind on the standards that we all had expected it to uphold but and even across seas, the nation's presence was not revered as it once was. The president was present in the front row he looked at me just staring and all. I left to the left and went behind the curtain and sat down in the chair that was there I started breathing and just letting it all out it was over my talk was done I was through with saying what I had to say and I felt satisfied and relieved. Then my aunts came up the steps on the side of the stage and cuddled in the back with me and said how great I was up there I smiled and laughed they handed me a bouquet of yellow roses my favorite and some Italian hard candies in a little round tin. I told them how appreciative I was, then we all left in thier, one of my aunts her car and we they drove me the long way home which was through the country the Rolling Hills and it was dim and dark getting to be night time and I was staying with them when my grandmother too and it was the four of us and we recounted Tales of their childhood and I just listened and they all seemed happy to have someone as an audience my mom and her son my brother and her sister my sister her daughter came and showed up the next day they were in an old Rolls-Royce that had seen better days. My dad even rolled by in his old Volkswagen, toot toot then the story was complete and we went for a walk all us girls females behind the house in the great cornfield path toward the woods at the point of the Woods we stood there looking up at the sky at the clouds and saw a thundering Cloud Rolling In from the East oh no it looks like rain my aunt said the younger one we all ran back through the tall corn stalks to comfort and safety you know the fire on the couch with blankets the dog lapped up the last of his water and the cat had a treat of milk in her dish the next day everyone slept well we were all going to go camping so we gathered our goods and our belongings and our supplies and we packed our suitcases and loaded the trunk in the big SUV 2 hours to the camping grounds if we weren't happy riding up that Interstate 787 singing songs and just enjoying each other's company it was good to be females for a while because I had spent with females for a while because I had spent a lot of my life just in relationships with men and not had a lot of time to be with my female friends or family members but as we rounded the corner we were wishing there was a man with us because it was like a gang of motorcycle riders that were revving their engines and coming toward us all at once about 50 of them we scattered and all our stuff fell on the ground but we made our way to the check-in point at the register house and signed up for a lovely cabin on the lake there was a tent but we did not think we needed it in the back trunk then we went fishing the next morning after everyone had settled in and had enough sleep and I took a nap that afternoon because I was just really overwhelmed and exhausted and tired from all of the socializing I had not gotten used to yet. Pretty much anything you would do was criticized when you were with a man in a relationship and all of my past experiences were still wearing on me and my present day life but I tried to enjoy the company of my mom my sister my brother my grandma and my two aunts so we had a nice vacation and then we went to a coffee shop and a restaurant in town the next day and just hung out and relaxed and smiled, we rented bikes and took a ride around the town and along the lake in the river and we saw some waterfalls and took off our shoes and went in the water it was a summer day as a matter of fact actually so we had a nice time and returned when we were all ready and happy to go home to our spouses the end.
