Fantasy

Walking in a winter wonderland. I love the way the snow looks hitting my ankles. As I zip up my coat and zip up my boots I grab my keys and get ready to hit the road. I notice the snow falling from the sky in perfect synchronicity. I walk out of my house and head for the trail down my street. As I start my journey on the trail I notice I don’t feel the snow hitting my ankles. I look down and the snow is perfectly still. I turn around and see that there are no footsteps left in the path that I walked. What the hell is happening?

I start to run and then twist and jump around. Still nothing. It’s like the snow isn’t real. Or maybe I am not real in this moment? How could that happen though? For years I’ve walked in the snow and even made snow angels with no problem. “Aha! I have an idea!” I say out loud as I jump and land on the ground and start swinging my arms around my sides trying to form a snow angel. I jump back off and go to wipe the snow off my back and arms but am left confused because there quite frankly is no snow whatsoever on my back or my arms but I was just in the snow making a snow angel. None of this is making any sense. I don’t see anyone else out on the street and the street is covered in a thick white fog. The snow has stopped falling from the sky and it almost feels as though time has stopped.

I run over to the nearest tree and try to shake the branches to make the snow fall. The snow falls on the ground perfectly without creating a disturbance on the ground. I see no cars riding down the streets and I notice no animals jumping in the trees and flying in the skies. Where am I? I try and pick up snow but it disappears as soon as I go to scoop some up. Is anything real? I look up to the sky and it seems like there is a clear dome shape covering the sky. Am I trapped in something? Suddenly I fall to the ground and see a giant face in the sky. I start to fly around as the giant figure is what seems to be shaking the world. Snow starts to fall and finally the shaking stops and the figure has gone away.

I hear the faint sound of Christmas music coming from inside whatever this thing is that I am trapped in. I can see lights in the sky that I assumed were stars but if I’m trapped in something then they wouldn’t be stars. That's when my eyes form around what is a giant christmas tree in the sky.

Minutes later the shaking is back. I’m flown from corners of every room. The snow viciously falling again. That’s when it hits me. “I’m in a snow globe! HELP!”
