Sorry mom...

Ann wake up cause the noise of alarm . Her hand ghosted around the alarm just to make it fell down. Her morning started with this annoyingness as usual .As she felt the warm sunrise on her face she swirled on the bed thousand times till she decided to put her feet down. When her toes touched the cold floor a shiver went up to her spine which make her mind more annoying. She shacked her head too throw away all the dizziness off and stood on her feet and head to the bathroom straightly. After washing her face with cold water she felt the familiar freshness she used to feel every morning.

As a college student she was very active .but since the quarantine period started her whole soul became lazy and dull cause of the same routine she got to follow daily. After completing her bathroom courses she went down the stairs while flashbacking about the way she spent yesterday literally doing nothing other than eating ,sleeping ,showering and studying. When she finally reached the down floor she called her mother without having an idea what to say. As Ann got a “hmmmmmm” from her mother as a respond she sat on the sofa accepting her mom to come to her. As fast as mom saw Ann she gave a big bright smile to her dearest daughter which made Ann to give little smile back to her mom. Then mom took a seat beside Ann and stared at her for a while as accepting Ann to something . This exited stare of her mom make Ann disappointed and also a bit nervous at the same time. And she also noticed that her mom didn’t serve her morning milk yet and it make her more curious as t was the first thing mom does as a habit when she wake up in the morning . 

‘‘Mom is everything ok?” Ann asked through the full of nervousness . “yeah …. why not…” mom answered and keep staring at Ann still with the accepting gaze. Then Ann straightly asked “do you want me to say something?” as she was really confused about what is about to come out. Her question covered her mom's glowing face with a unsatisfied shade. “Today is my birthday” that was the last thing came out of moms mouth before she returned to the kitchen without any prevention of shocked Ann.

Ann spent few minutes realize what just happened and when she returned to her normal state of mind she took her phone out and checked the date to just notice that it was 4th of March which is her mom's birthday. The she face palmed with a deep sigh as this is the first time she forgot her moms birth day. The her attention changed to the ringing of her moms phone. According to the way mom talked during the phone call Ann made sure that it was her dad who is a doctor in England. Ann saw that her mom got teary eyes after hanging up the call .So she straightly walked to her mom and gave her a back hug who was heating milk for Ann. And she yelled out “HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM” and tightened the grip .Then her mom gave her warm smile while turning back to face Ann. “I’m really sorry mom. that’s true i forgot that today is our birthday. but I even cant understand how.. I’m really sick of the way my life flowing these days. there is nothing deferent from yesterday and nothing will tomorrow too. that’s why i didn’t have an idea about the date. also I already gave up to update myself about anything other than studying “she threw out all the pressure she was keeping in side with those wards and looked at mom with puppy eyes as she was apologizing about what just happened. “I know my baby. Its ok. But the truth is I got a little heartbreak when I realized that you forgot my birth day. But now its over. and from now I will spend more time with you and help to overcome of the same boring feeling you are experiencing everyday” mom said so while holding Ann’s both hands lightly. Those words from her mom gave her sense of relief and she hugged her mom again rubbing her cheeks on moms shoulders telling that she is very thankful to her mom.

As Ann was still upset about forgetting her mom’s birthday she decided to make a birthday cake for mom and it also ended up mom helping her as she also forgot the ratio of the ingredients too. However after nearly 2 hours Ann was able to finish icing the cake. As she asked her mom to be seated in the living room till she appear with the cake her mom was waiting in the living room . After decorating the cake Ann fished for some cherries and found something more suitable than cherries . That was number shaped candles of '2' and '5' . She was really happy about what she just found because Ann wanted candles even though they was out of them. But she was wrong .She got the candles which are exactly matched with the age of her mom.so she dipped the root of those candle into the cake as 52. After the sudden perfect and complete decorating she took the cake and walk to her mam singing happy birthday. When mom saw the cake she palmed her face and it gave a negative sense to Ann's mind. As mom noticed that Ann's expressions are changing she quickly returned to the happy face and blew the candles with a beautiful smile. As Ann was still confused she asked mom whether she had done something wrong again. "No, you didn't do anything wrong baby. the fact is i just bought these candles for the cake i planned bake tomorrow. But now its ok. I will buy candles tomorrow morning again. Don't mind it now" mom said with a warm smile. Ann got the disappointed face again as she couldn't get what her mom just said. "don't tell me that you cant remember the specialty of tomorrow" mom said with a deep voice which make Ann more and more uncomfortable. Ann was unable to say anything because she really cant remember what is the specialty of tomorrow. "oh baby , its our parents anniversary tomorrow . 25th one .Common Ann . just come back to the reality" mom said while leading Ann to sit beside her. Ann covered her face with her both hands with the sudden embarrassment which make her mom burst into a laughter. "its ok darling ,forget it. In our life dates are not the most valuable thing, it is the love we get from our closest ones. You always give that love to us. That is all what we need "mom kissed Ann's forehead comforting her while Ann cuddled in her mom's warmth. After staying like that for a while mom cut the cake and fed Ann during giving compliments to her about the cake.
