Marlena stood rooted in her spot next to a rusty pole while waiting for the train. She felt bad for the pole so she pulled out her little packet of wet wipes and began wiping the pole. Soon the wipe had a large hole in the middle and the pole was shiny with just a bit of rust at the bottom. “Good enough!” Marlena complimented herself. The train arrived with a loud, screeching noise that hurt Marlena’s ears. She saw it was the train she had to get on and immediately ran to get in the train before it filled up. She showed her ticket to the staff on the train. “Ok! You will be getting off at the 3rd time that the bus stops, ok?” The staff asked. “Ok, Thank you!” Marlena said, smiling. She scanned the train for a seat. Sadly, there was no other seat. There were so many people sitting and standing that Marlena thought that it was the day before Christmas. So she held the handle that was attached to the ceiling of the train. Suddenly the train started to shake and wobble a bit. The shake caused Marlena to grip her hand really tight on the handle. She slowly walked off of the bus, due to the shaking she got dizzy and felt that she had movement sickness. “T Thank y y you.” She thanked the train staff who had given her directions, and stumbled off of the train. After she walked to a bench, sat down, and pulled out her phone. She didn’t have any wifi, but luckily she had her own data on her phone in case something like this happened. She wrote in google search, “Hotels near me.” After a few seconds, lots of results popped up before Marlena’s eyes. “1. Brook’s Stay, 2. Marriott, 3.Cat hotel. Marlena tapped on Brook's stay because she was allergic to cats ever since she went to her friend, Cara’s house. Cara was a girl that Marlena had been friend’s with ever since Marlena saved Cara from getting hit by a car. Cara was being bullied by other kids and got pushed into the road on her way home from school, so Marlena quickly moved Cara out of the way and brought Cara home. Cara had gotten two cats and wanted to show Marlena so she made it a surprise and brought Marlena over. Marlena just had a fever, itchy tongue, and lots of sneezes after Cara showed Marlena her cats. Brook’s stay was pretty far from where Marlena was. She groaned and opened up her Desti app. She wrote Brook’s stay in Desti. Desti was an app that Marlena used for going places. A map showing where Marlena was and where the Brook’s Stay was came up. She ran and walked and ran and walked until she reached Brook’s Stay. At that point, she was panting with her hands holding her upper body up on her knees. She pulled the heavy, metal door open slowly. Then she dashed in the room scared that the door might close on her hair like in the video she had watched. She walked to the wooden desk in the right corner of the room and asked, “Can I please have a room?” “Ok, a big suite or just a normal, small room?” The lady asked. Her voice sounded like Marlena’s 7th grade teacher who was so strict. She had been so strict that she would hit a kid with a boom on the head if they made a mistake so Marlena was super careful and studied a lot. “Um, a big suite please!” The words bursted out of Marlena's mouth. “Fine, That will be thirty six dollars!” She said with a following ugh. Marlena thought, “Maybe she was my seventh grade teacher!” as she took out her wallet. She handed the lady a forty dollar bill. The lady snatched it from Marlena’s hands. The lady wrote something down on a piece of paper that looked like three numbers and handed one shiny key that the lady had pulled out of a drawer with a lock on it to Marlena. She walked and looked at the number on the key. The key read, “230”. Her eyes scanned the hallway like she did on the train. She looked like a bird predator looking for its prey. “Found it!” she bounced up and down in excitement because she found the door. She stuck the key in, and twisted to the left. She released her grip on the key and grabbed the door handle and twisted it open. The room was beautiful. There was a bouquet of tulips on the top of the wooden drawers, there were three nicely placed fluffy pillows on the king bed, a big, clean shower and best of all there was a big window that also had a door so that Marlena could sit on the balcony. Marlena noticed a lot of the furniture was made of wood. She also remembered that her seventh grade teacher loved wood. She unpacked her two bags full of stuff she needed like a toothbrush, a hair dryer, clothes, and more. She unlocked her phone and opened up her app that she used to talk to people like her friends that was called, “Friend Chat'' and clicked on Cara’s name. “Hi Cara, how ru?”She sent Cara. “Hi Marlena, I’m good, u?” Cara sent back. “I’m good 2. So how is your job going?” Marlena sent. “Pretty good.” Cara replied. “I am so tired.” Marlena sent. No response came back. “Maybe Cara fell asleep?” Marlena thought as a reason for why Cara hadn’t replied back to her. Marlena felt curious and tired at the same time, but the tiredness took ahold of her and so she fell asleep on the bed. After two hours of sleeping, she woke up. She took a glance at the clock. It was 10:52pm. She looked outside and gasped. The night sky was full of beautiful shining stars. The stars surrounded the moon as if the moon were an important person and the stars were the moon’s bodyguards. The moon’s bright light reflected on the Brook’s Stay’s pool. It was the prettiest, coolest, beautifulest thing Marlena had ever seen in her life.
