"No, no, no, no!" Stacey groaned as she flipped through her grandmother's recipe book.
"What's wrong Stace?" Charlotte asked.
"It's not here!" She shouted. Stacey was so panicked that she hadn't noticed her sister enter the room.
"What are you looking for?"
Stacey collapsed on the ground in defeat. "Nothing." She said in a dull tune of disappointment. Charlotte reached down and brushed a lock of her sister's dark brown hair out of Stacey's face.
"Stacey, you can trust me. We're sisters, we tell each other everything."
"Does that mean you'll tell me what you got me for Christmas this year?"
"Not a chance!" Charlotte said teasing her. "Come on, what's all this about?"
Stacy sighed and gave up her secret. "You know how when we were younger, how mom would make those gingerbread cookies that grandma used to make for her?"
"The ones we would put candy cane sprinkles on?"
She nodded. "I wanted to surprise you with them. I know how hard it was for you when mom passed away. I was going to wait for you to leave for school, but I realized I didn't know the recipe. So I looked through mom's old recipe book, but it's not in there."
Charlotte smiled and leaned down to give her sister a hug. "Stacy, you are an amazing sister, but you work too hard."
Suddenly an idea popped into Charlotte's head. "I used to watch mom bake those cookies every year. How about when I get home from school we try to do them from memory?"
"Really? What if we mess up?" Stacy asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
"Then we'll try again. We are making those cookies!"
Stacy giggled at her sister's enthusiasm.
Charlotte came home to find her sister setting out baking supplies. Stacy was covered in flour from head to toe, and was currently wrestling with a giant bag of flour.
"What happened here?" She smirked, trying to hold back her laughter.
"I was setting everything out, when the four decided to fight back." Stacy said, wrinkling her nose while trying to brush off some of the flour.
"Alright, let's start baking."
Several hours had passed before they finally managed to make good cookies. The first batch was a disaster because they accidentally used salt instead of sugar. The second batch came out burnt. But the last batch was perfect.
The End but there isn't enough letters so:
Thanks everyone! I hope you have a happy holidays. Here's a few songs to fill in the rest.
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
Hey, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
Hey, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
It's Christmas
Hey, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
Hey, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
It's Christmas
Hark how the bells,
Sweet silver bells,
All seem to say,
Throw cares away
Christmas is here,
Bringing good cheer,
To young and old,
Meek and the bold.
Ding dong ding dong
That is their song
With joyful ring
All caroling.
One seems to hear
Words of good cheer
From everywhere
Filling the air.
Oh how they pound,
Raising the sound,
O'er hill and dale,
Telling their tale.
Gaily they ring
While people sing
Songs of good cheer,
Christmas is here.
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas.
On on they send,
On without end,
Their joyful tone
To every home.
Ding dong ding dong
Ding dong ding dong
Hark how the bells,
Sweet silver bells,
All seem to say,
Throw cares away
(We will throw cares away)
Christmas is here,
Bringing good cheer,
To young and old,
Meek and the bold.
(Bringing cheer to the young and old)
Oh how they pound,
Raising the sound,
O'er hill and dale,
Telling their tale.
Gaily they ring
While people sing
Songs of good cheer,
Christmas is here.
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry Christmas
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry Christmas
On on they send,
On without end,
Their joyful tone
To every home.
Out of all the reindeers you know you're the mastermind
Run, run Rudolph, Randalph ain't too far behind
Run, run Rudolph, Santa's got to make it to town
Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down
Run, run Rudolph 'cause I'm reelin' like a merry-go-round
Said Santa to a boy child what have you been longing for?
All I want for Christmas is a rock and roll electric guitar
And then away went Rudolph a whizzing like a shooting star
Run, run Rudolph, Santa's got to make it to town
Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down
Run, run Rudolph, reeling like a merry-go-round
Run, run Rudolph, Santa's got to make it to town
Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down
Run, run Rudolph, reeling like a merry-go-round
Said Santa to a girl child what would please you most to get?
A little baby doll that can cry, sleep, drink and wet
And then away went Rudolph a whizzing like a Saber jet
Run, run Rudolph, Santa's got to make it to town
Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down
Run, run Rudolph, I'm reelin' like a merry-go-round
Ah, aha
Ooh
Oh
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away (you gave it away)
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special (special)
Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance
But you still catch my eye
Tell me, baby
Do you recognize me?
Well, it's been a year
It doesn't surprise me
(Happy Christmas) I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying, "I love you, " I meant it
Now, I know what a fool I've been
But if you kissed me now
I know you'd fool me again
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away (you gave it away)
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special (special)
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special (special, oh)
Oh, my baby
(Ooh)
A crowded room, friends with tired eyes
I'm hiding from you, and your soul of ice
My God, I thought you were someone to rely on
Me? I guess I was a shoulder to cry on
A face on a lover with a fire in his heart
A man under cover but you tore me apart, ooh
Now, I've found a real love you'll never fool me again
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away (you gave it away)
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special (special)
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, (you gave) you gave it away (me away)
This year (ohh), to save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special (special)
Face on a lover with a fire in his heart (I gave you my heart)
A man under cover but you tore him apart
Maybe next year, I'll give it to someone
I'll give it to someone special (special, someone)
