She always wore hand-me-down clothes as her school uniform. Her eyes had a dark brown color. Her amber silky hair were almost always braided. Her mother was very kind and soft spoken person and her father had a very short temper. Her grades were good and her athletic abilities were a little above normal. Her social skills were also fine. She had a good number of friends in her school. To others she would seem almost perfect. But she lived in her own imaginary future. She would always go on about how she will go to one of the most prestigious university. She also dreamed of becoming a lecturer at the same university, metropolitan university. She would blather so much about her dream that her friends were almost sick of her. She never seriously thought about how she can make her dream come true. She just concluded that if she studies hard, she would get accepted but she never noticed that this was not how her society operated. They were very backwards people, they would never let a young girl go on her own to live and study like that. She always shrugged this fact off by saying that her parents were different but were they really different? Her doubt was cleared when her mother suddenly asked her about what university will she choose to admit in. She almost without a care replied, “Metropolitan university, of course.", "No, choose one in this area, we cannot send you that far.", after hearing this sentence she became a bit alarmed and said,” No, I will go....", her father noticed this and cut her sentence in the middle by saying, “You will not. Stop sprouting non sense, why did we even ask you?", her mother also told her to stop acting like that. She was shocked. She never thought that her own parents will stop her from education like that. But she knew in her sub-consciousness that this was going to happen. Her dream was about to be shattered and she didn't had the strength to witness that moment with her own eyes. She was unable to argue anymore due to the tears that were pilled up in her throat. She went outside and started walking really fast. She stopped in front of the river and cried her heart out, her dream was shattered. Shattered dreams hurt the most. She sobbed for ten minutes and then stared at the flowing river, her tears were still flowing and her nose was stuck. She sat there and stared at the river until her tears stopped. She sat there for a while and then returned home as it was already late. Next time she encountered the same question was after her graduation when one day her mother once again asked about her plans. She was really tensed now, her mother also added that she can't say metropolitan university. She claimed, "If not metropolitan then I am not studying anymore.", “Not again, my child.” her mother said, “I am saying that I will go to that university,”, her mother reminded her “I think I already explained to you the reason you can’t do that.” She was persistent. There was again a fight. She then went to her friends and took advices from them. Begging for the permission she did everything she could and when her parents were slightly convinced a big accident happened in the metropolis, after this she lost all hope to convincing them. She knew everything she did just went down the drain and now nothing will work on them. At last she surrendered and agreed to go to the nearby university. She worked really hard and got a scholarship and graduated with an A plus grade. She got a job at an elite company and worked diligently for a year and a half. She resigned after she had collected enough money to pay for her tuition at the metropolitan university. She told her parents that she was getting transferred in the metropolitan city. She lied to them. She knew the risks but a person has to take some risks to live a fulfilling life. She lived at the student dorms. She lived very cheaply during this period. There was this time when she slept in the library as she didn’t had the budget to buy an umbrella in the rainy weather. She faced many problems living alone. In her last year she ran out of money, she had to find a job and she had to also focus on her studies, so she ended up applying for an assistant job at the university. The person giving the job held a grudge against her so she had very little hope for it to work. She was called in the office some days later. The person said that if she wanted the job she would have to kneel in front of them and apologize to them. She became really pissed off. She hardly controlled her urge to hit this person in the head once again. She stood there quietly like a statue for fifteen minutes and thought that should she eat her pride and kneel. She didn’t kneel, kept her pride and worked part-time elsewhere. She had a hard time studying for finals but to top it off her parents found out about her. They became really mad to find that their daughter deceived them like this. She would call them for hours and they wouldn’t pick up. All these things altered her final result but it was good enough to get a job at the university. She finally got a degree and a job as a lecturer. She had hard time convincing her parents but she did it, in the end they were a family and she was their only child . They didn't talked to her for some years though. She became really famous as a lecturer that she even came on tv and radio. She was one of the people who were titled as "The Hero of the Pandemic", as she found the cure for a widespread disease. She also penned many best seller books. One could say she lived a successful life.
