Horror Suspense Teens & Young Adult

It was Halloween's Eve when Jacob and I agreed to go to the cemetery to have our annual test of courage Halloween Celebration. Well, we were the only one that consider each other friends so, no one and no where to celebrate at all.

Mom and Dad usually don't go home because they have a job and has to work overnight, it's quite boring at home and I wanna go somewhere else . Jacob's parents on the other hand, well, didn't care much of danger. They just want Jacob to have some fun with a friend, well with me, coz I am his only friend? I guess?

*1 hour before midnight*

"Psst, Jacob,..., Jacob! Over here!", Jacob took a turn and found me hiding at the bushes near the Oakland Cemetery Gate.

"You're being more suspicious than what you thought you are right now Chris." he said to me.

I rolled my eyes and hopped out of the bushes. I wore my usual black jacket and my jeans with my sling bag that has all the things we need for midnight up to the end of the witching hour. Him, well just his old "cuber skull" shirt and a pair of jeans.

"Flashlight, check. Phones, check. Snacks, check. A cross? Seriously Chris?" Jacob asked me handing the crucifix and keeping it at his pocket. "You are seriously unbelievable."

"What? Just in case you know?"

"Yeah, right. Fine, scared y cat." he teased me.

We walked down the alley of graves and took a turn for the biggest and creepiest Victorian like structure with 3 gravestones in it.

"That looks classy, man, it's been a year and people really still do have taste for grave designs aren't they?" Jacob asked.

As I was about to answer a creepy old man came out and scared the hell out of me. I yelp for a while and looked at Jacob with shame.

"Jeez, what a coward cat you are Chris." he smiled and stared at me then at the old man, "Say mister, who are you?" Jacob asked.

"I'm no one, you shouldn't be here. You don't know what's lurking at midnight in this place. You both should go home." the man said in a creepy, husky, John Cramer tone voice with a twitch, that added a little creep in him.

"Well sir, we have been here every year and ever since we haven't found anything scary, till now." he smilingly said while staring at me.

"Yeah, yeah." I rolled my eye and grabbed Jacob's hand and walked off. " Sorry old man but Imma prove to this dweeb that I am more courageous than him. "Jacob giggled and we walked out and headed at our next stop.

"Funny, there wasn't an old shack at the middle of the cemetery last year, how come it has now?" I asked Jacob. Before I followed Jacob I looked at my phone and it was 12 midnight already. I looked at Jacob again.

"You think maybe it's the old man's house? Think let's take a little peek?" he encouragingly said with an irritating look which lead me to the conclusion of teasing that I am a coward.

I crouched and stared at the hole at the middle of the door. I saw nothing but red, plain bright red. Jacob was questioned,he knocks at the door but no one answered.

"Weird, isn't it?" Jacob said. Three seconds later when we turn around and ready to head out there was a knock on the door followed by the sound of a crow.

" What, was that?" I asked with goosebumps all over my body. We walked closer and there again, three knocks, this time with a rhythm. "O...kay? This isn't funny anymore. Whoever you are, old man? stop this please?" Jacob shouted, we walked closer and as we were about to open the door.

"STOP!" We turned and both screamed at the top of our lungs. It was the old man. "That shack is curse! Move away from there!", we both looked at each other and came down running near the old man.

"What the hell was that?" Jacob asked. We both turned at the old man, shivering.

"That shack just mysteriously popped last year without anyone knowing about it. It was said that a woman on her 30s hung her self up and died inside.

"W-what was she like?" I asked.

"There was only one thing known about her." The old man said while looking at the shack again.

"And that was?"

"Her eyes, it was red, all red, bright red that everybody was afraid of her." I looked at Jacob and my body was weakened and was cover with fear.

I grabbed Jacob's hands and ran as fast as I could, " NEVER LOOK BACK!!!" I said to him.

"Wait!" The old man shouted.

I didn't care about it, and I just ran with Jacob. We were near the gate and the old man's voice fades. We didn't heard what he said and that time I stepped out of the gate everything changed. It was as if I were back inside the cemetery again. "W-what happened?" I asked myself and the next thing I knew, Jacob was not next to me. My hand was holding nothing but air. I checked my phone and I tried calling Jacob. He didn't answered. I looked at the time,

*11:00pm*

I was shocked when I saw it. It was 12 when I last checked it, how come? I was full of question when the old man walked near me.

"You stared at her eyes did you?" The old man said.

"Y-yes" I answered with shivers on my spine.

"I told you it was curse, I am now free and it's your turn."

"What do you mean?"

"You are now stuck here in time at the cemetery forever."

I pinched myself hoping everything is just a nightmare. I waited for Jacob, but he never came.

It wasn't just a time loop, I was erased, temporarily from existence.
