Christmas secrets

Anne,a nineteen year old girl thought it would be fun to celebrate that year's Christmas in the village of her grandpa's cottage, little did she knew it was more than a secretive Holiday rather than a happy one. Anne,Rob her father, Luna her mother and Josh her younger brother started their journey to the cottage late at night on 22nd of December. As they started their journey Anne being herself whatched scary movies all of their journey, Josh was asleep half of the journey cuddled upto his sister on the cold night. They took a break from their journey and came across a 24/7 cafe at 3:30 in the night, not knowing if there will be anymore of those further they decided to stop at this one although this cafe was only 2 miles away from the village. At the cafe Luna was sharing her memories and experience of her childhood at the village and both children listened with fascination as they had never been to their grandpa's cottage before and were curious to know more about it, as they were talking the waitress came with their food and couldn't help but overhead their talk and was surprised to learn that they were going to spend their holidays in that cottage. Ria, the waitress asked them if they had visited this village before and was shocked to learn that the cottage they were staying was of Luna's father Asher. The waitress couldn't help herself and shared the rumours going around about Asher being different from everyone and that he had a pet wolf. Not believing her the family started their journey again. On the way Anne couldn't help herself and asked her mother if their really had a wolf as a pet, for which her mother replied with a simple you'll see when we get there. By the time they reached the village both the children were fast asleep. Luna and Rob carried them inside the cottage and put them in theit bed thinking they'll meet their grandpaa when they would woke up. Sunshine broke through the curtains making Anne aware of her surroundings. She quietly padded to the kitchen to ony came across an old man drinking coffee with his back to her, as if he sensed someone standing he turned around. Therw stood Asher her grandfather whom she had never met before. As she studied him she didn't notice that now he was standing in front of her. She looked at his face and was greeted with a warm smile and introduced himself and was surprised when Anne hugged him. They both talked for a while when they heard little pitter patter coming towards the kitchen and saw Josh in his PJ's. He saw Anne with his grandpa and jumping in his arms with excitement, they talked for a while and had breakfast when their parents came downstairs. Anne who wanted to explore more of the village and after some instructions from her mother she left to explore. She started to think about that wolf everybody talked about and haven't seen any. She didn't realized that she went deeper into the forest unknowingly. It had gotten dark and she didn't knew where to go so she searched for a comfortable Spot and laid down, she didn't know when but she welcomed sleep and dreamed about a wolf, she woke up abruptly and searched her surroundings and found nothing. As she started walking she heard paws on the ground and howlings, she screamed and ran tried to get away from those wolfs. She came across a river and rested there to catch her breath. As she turned around she saw a wolf standing there and the next moment there was a silhouette of a man and thought of running but her grandpa came into vision. She couldn't believe what she saw and fainted. When she woke up she thought all of that was a dream but it came crashing down when she looked at herself in muddy clothes and knotted hair. As she tried to see outside in the hallway, Asher came into her view and she backed up terrified. Her mother and father came into her room along with her grandfather and explained all those things she saw in the forest. She couldn't believe what she heard but she also couldn't deny the things she saw. As her father told her of their family being werewolfs and those wolfs she heard were part of the pack lead by her grandfather. She tried to gather her thoughts and couldn't help but think is she herself is a werewolf as if knowing what she was thinking her grandfather told her that she is a werewolf along with her father mother and josh but as they were living away from their kind in the city they haven't shifted yet. That night sleep was nowhere to be found and a sudden overwhelming feeling came as she realised that all of that was real and not a dream. Next morning her grandfather told her that the rumours were partially true and he didn't wanted anyone to know about their secret thats why he was so closed off. In all this drama she forgot that that day it was Christmas. She couldn't change the reality and slowly she started to accept the fact of her family being werewolfs. As the day started the day begin to feel normal and they enjoy and celebrated their Christmas as any other family, laughing, playing in the snow, eating and exchanging gifts. That night her grandfather and she went to meet the rest of the pack, she was still scared but had a sense of security knowing her grandfather is with her. They came across the same river where Anne fainted and crossed it to come across a hidden pasage to the pack house. Upon their arrival everyone stopped what they were doing and bowed to their alpha, her grandfather , she was amazed by their behaviour and her surroundings, young pups were playing, men were training and women were talking and laughing. Her grandfather introduced her as his granddaughter and everyone bowed she was confused. Her grandfather explained that she was his granddaughter and will be their next alpha and the pack has already welcomed her. Listening this she thought of one thing how is she supposed to run a pack by being their leader if she won't live there. As if sensing her delima her grandfather took her to his office in the pack house and explained that every pack is run by an alpha ahd if there were no one to lead a pack the pack will go ballistic and won't be able to survive, she don't have to be the alpha if she doesn't wanted to as he will be choosing an alpha from the pack itself. She thought of all of this and was confused to why all of a sudden she wanted to protect the pack and help them. Her grandfather told her that as an alpha her natural instincts have kicked in and want to lead the pack and protect them. She thought but was unable to conclude how will she able to lead a pack and take care of them herself, her grandfather reassured her that he will be helping her for a few years and train her. She had decided what she will do as they reached their home she asked her parents that if it will be okay for her to live there with her grandfather and train with him to be an alpha of their pack. As the holiday came to an end she watched as her family was ready to head back to the city. For two years she trained and learned all of the work an alpha to do by her grandfather and was finally able to achieve her goal. Her grandfather named her the next alpha of the pack and she was welcomed whole heartedly. Within the next few years her pack was one of the strongest and largest of all of those in the world. Along with her grandfather she led the pack to their best and protected them as her children.
