*this is not real, not cannon, only for fun*
Dolos sat high on the oak tree, overseeing the small village he stumbled upon. The town was full of action with people wandering the square and many dealers shouting out prices. A small rustling sound was heard behind him. He turned his head just in time to see a blur of grey hurling at him. He fell from the tree knocking his head on the sun-tinted grass.
"What the hell Apate."
"Oh come on," Apate said rolling over to lay next to him. "That was hilarious." She giggled and punched Dolos in the shoulder.
"Oh you're going to pay for that," Dolos grabbed Apate shoulders, then rolled down the hill covered in the shadows of trees. Apate was Dolo's trickster of a sister. She would taunt people and trick them mercilessly. Wanting them begging to be free from her suffering. Dolos and Apate reached the end slamming into the berry bushes. Apate stood up and kicked Dolos in the shin,
"Get up I have something to show you." Dolos got up wiping dirt off him. He looked up to see that his sister was already on the move, walking towards the village. Dolos sighed and followed the trail of leaves coming off her dress.
He reached a small cottage house with a full garden next to it. Covered in wheat, corn, squash, and many more vegetables that he couldn't quite put his finger on what they were. Apate trailed around the garden fence then hopped over the barricade. Dolos followed, jumping over the wooden posts.
"Grab all the goods."
Dolos laughed.
"This is useless," He said still picking up the wheat and squash, still following her orders. She didn't respond. Dolos picked up the last piece of food and threw it away from the garden, leaving nothing but soil and ruin left. Apate grabbed Dolo's hand and led him towards a lumpy tree.
Dolos watched as the farmer came out to see that his farm was ruined. He cried out and begged on the dirt floor. Apate laughed behind the tree's bark and snorted at the misfortune. Dolos got up and walked away.
"Dolos!" Apate said chasing after him. Dolos stopped and looked at the praying farmer.
"Have we really gotten this low?" He said pointing his hand towards the subtle mischief of a prank. "Ruining farmer's crops?" Apate glanced at the farmer and sighed.
"Nothing is quite the same since we first came to the mortal world. You have to agree on this." Apate crumbled to the grass and shed a tear. Dolos snickered. He knew that Apate only did this for attention as well as victimizing the mortals. Dolos looked around the village area. We hit the low point, thought Dolos, sitting on the grass next to Apate.
As though they gave up Dolos and Apate slummed to lay on the ground and stared at the sky above them. In the sun's view, a figure came into notice. The female figure looked over Dolos and Apate laying on the ground.
"It's good to see you again," She said lending a hand towards Dolos. He took it and climbed up to see that it was Hecate. Apate got up on her own and stood next to Dolos, eyeing Hecate carefully.
"Hey Hecate nice to see you again," Dolos said shaking her hand then glancing over at Apate. "What are you doing here? I haven't seen you since Pandora." Hecate chuckled and cleared Apate from her eyes view.
"I was just wandering around the village when I noticed you two." Dolos grinds his teeth.
"We were just relaxing, as you might call it," He said clapping his hands together, wiping the dirt off of them.
"Really?" Hecate said with a mischievous snare on her face. "Well, then I don't suppose you can do a favor for me?" Apate suddenly laughed and slammed her hand on Hecate's shoulder.
"You think we take orders from you?" She said teasing. "Never the less favors as well." Hecate grinned.
"Oh, I think you'll like this one Apate." Dolos looked over at Apate and gave her a smile. Apate sighed.
Hecate led Apate and Dolos over to an empty arena with seats high as roofs and a big open area in the middle for fighters. Apate ran up the seats to the top where she could look at her mischievous plan. But she stumbled.
"How is this to my taste?" She said looking at the empty Colosseum. Hecate laughed.
"Dear girl, our plan isn't in action yet. Be patient, I have some information to tell you both." Dolos eyed Apate then returned his gaze on Hecate's eyes. Dark purple, like ivy in the moon. "Here's what's going to happen tonight." Hecate walked over to a big seat, fitted for royalty. "A king will be here to watch the bullfight, You two need to get him down from the pedestal and kill him in front of all his people. We need to show the crowd how weak he really is." Dolos walked around the fighting arena.
"And how are we supposed to do that Hecate?"
"Didn't you guys come out of Pandora's box?" Hecate snickered. "I thought you guys were supposed to be the god and goddess of mischief and deception." She walked towards the door. "Get to work." Apate held her fist up and walked down the seats.
"What are we supposed to do?" Apate said pondering as well as Dolos on this situation.
"What we were meant to do," Dolos responded.
The moon rose, casting out on the land a blue shimmery glow. Dolos put the last of his armor on and stood before Apate.
"How do I look."
"Like a real jerk."
"Perfect," Dolos said, picking up his silver sword and shield. Apate wished him good luck then took off to get to the king's stand. Dolos smiled as he looked out at the cheering crowd. The bull was released from its cage. It snorted and its hove slammed to the ground. The knight in the arena pulled up his shield and yelled out for the black bull. The bull ran towards the knight and the knight ran towards the bull. Of course, the knight's shield blocked the bull from attacking, but not for very long. The bull put more pressure on the shield, making its horns rip through the metal. The knight screamed and ran towards the closed door. He banged on it and shouted for help, but the crowd still cheered the bull on. They clapped and whistled for the bull to come after him. The knight pounded on the wooden door again, and again.
The bull ran around the arena like he just won a war. He pranced around the middle then took a few steps back, centering himself for the knight's attack. But it didn't come. So the Bull ran towards the knight and its horns went through his flesh. The knight bled out, then slumped to the floor. The crowd went wild.
Dolos smiled at the chaos. I'm sure Apate would love to see this, he thought. As that thought came to mind he wandered his eyes through the crowd looking for her.
Apate was behind the King. With the knife in hand, she nodded towards Dolos. He nodded back.
"Our next knight is from a far away land, Cedric, the knight of mischief," The announcer said. The crowd cheered for Dolos as he came out of the door. Apate rolled her eyes.
"Mwah!" Dolos kissed to the crowd and stood in the middle, catching all the attention from the mortals. Then the bull's cage opened. It was a bigger one from the one before. Its black fur made it so the eyes were barely visible. And scars tracked through its rounded body. Dolos ready-ed up his shield and sword and swung at the bull for excitement. The bull, angry, rushed towards Dolos knocking him off his feet. Dolos rubbed his head then grabbed his fallen sword. He got back into his stance and walked in a circle around the bull.
Looking to meet Apate's eyes, he scanned the King's box. She wasn't there.
Dolos cursed as the bull ran into him again, knocking him down. He stood up then ran to the bull. He yelled then slammed his sword into the bull's chest. The bull snorted and jumped up and down from the new attack. Dolos snickered.
"Easy." He said under his breath. Then the bull stomped its feet and rushed to Dolos swinging his horns back and forth with his sword still stuck in his flesh. Dolos jumped out of the way and landed on the ground. He got up to only notice the bull coming after him again. Dolos, again, jumped out of the way.
He spotted his shield and ran across the arena's floor. He pushed the shield against the horns of the bull as it came charging against him again.
"Apate where the hell are you," said Dolos shouting. The crowd could not hear him for their screams and cheers were too loud. Dolos looked again at the Kings Box and saw her smiling, she then dropped the knife and walked away. Dolos cursed. Then he slammed his shield into the bull finally knocking the beast out. The crowd cheered as Dolos angrily walked out from the arena, but the door was locked.
"Apate let me in," He yelled and pounded on the door, "Apate!" Dolos looked at the crowd cheering and noticed the bull was up again. He laughed. "Apate I know you're doing this, let me inside." No response. The bull charged for him crushing his horns into his chest like the last knight. Dolos screamed and fell to the ground, trying to plug the holes with his hands. But the wine-colored blood kept on bleeding. He screamed for Apate as the crowd smiled at his demise. Then as his last view, he saw Apate sitting with Hecate grinning at him, mouthing some words he couldn't understand. Then his view went black.
