New Meaning

I have visited this place a thousand times, had met new people each time I came here. But, this time, its completely different. Its a new feeling I had got, after spending some time with her. What's it? I had done this hundreds of time, but, today, my heart is beating fast, I have some tears in my eyes, as if, I am losing someone. What's this feeling means?

Hi, I am Raghav, I am an Indian and belong to the beautiful state of Kashmir, the even on Earth. I am a tour guide here, helping tourists to explore the beauty of Kashmir, and send them home back safely.

The tourists included many beautiful women, blonde beauties and even some foreign beauties. Since, I am the youngest tour guide here, my greenish blue eyes had attracted many of them. We had much good time together with many, but, never felt separated from life. I have this feeling now. Why?

Let's talk about my place. It's not just the beauty but, its 'the heaven on the earth.' Its greenery in summer is as beautiful as the colorful Tulips garden. Its ice are as snowy as the Leh lakes.

A few days back, A troupe from south India, arrived. It was a troupe of 23 people, including couples. But, there was a beautiful woman in the troupe, who was married, but, she came here single. Rhea, a beautiful south Indian beauty, aged in her 30’s. She was very beautiful, simple, her eyes showed fear, as if she was hiding her true self and has run away from somewhere. Her simplicity & soft behavior attracted me.

When the troupe reached, she was wearing a nice peach color traditional lehenga, a long pleated hair and a mogra bale around her hairs. She was different, she was silent as if hiding some storm inside her.

I took the tourists to their hotel and suggested to freshen up. I just can’t stop thinking about the innocent beauty Rhea, carried in her attitude. I dropped at her accommodation. Seriously, her simplicity was out of the world. I have seen many beauties but, her attitude and appearance dragged my attention uninterrupted.

The entire troupe gathered at my office after lunch, my eyes started looking for her. She was dressed in a pink-black combination salwar suit & covered herself with a black shawl. Her fair body matched with every color she wore. We started our trip.

We started our journey from Jammu- The city of beauty. The city of Jammu is indeed one of the famous places in Kashmir area. As you may know it, the city is bestowed by the presence of Mata Vaishno Devi Temple, a significant pilgrimage spot for Hindus. It is also called the City of Temples, as there are many religious sites here, including Peer Baba Temple, Mahamaya Temple and Peer Khoh. Other than the spiritual side, the city is beautified with scenic charm and rugged Bahu Fort. 

Tourists offered prayers and had Prasad. Rhea, was trying to get mixed up with everyone there, rather being a tour guide, she offered me the Prasad from her plate. And, requested me to put tilak on my forehead. I felt amazed, this had happened for the first time in my life. She even gave me the holy thread. It literally, made me feel emotional.  

We stayed in the hill side that night. I had organized tents for the people. Since there were couples, it was an amazing experience for them, to spend a cool night in the tent. We had camp fire, played songs, danced to the tunes of Bollywood songs, had dinner & everybody went to their respective tents to sleep.

Late at night, I heard someone crying very badly, it disturbed my sleep. I came out of my tent, Rhea, was sitting near the fire & crying. I went near her, and asked,” Are you okay? Why are you crying?”

She didn’t reply me & went inside her tent. I was disturbed, I was worried. As if her tears wanted to say many things. I couldn’t sleep the whole night..

Next day morning was as beautiful as the sun rising among the snowy mountains. She came ready with the cup of tea. Well, Kashmir is famous for pink chai, kullad chai and kahwaha. She was holding a cup of pink chai and 2pieces of rusk. I tried to talk to her, she ignored me. 

Our trip began. Today was the day of the gardens. First, we went to the Mughal gardens. Each and every flower of the garden, resembled love. The beauty of the flowers flourished each and every trip members eyes. I noticed, despite of all these beautiful scenes, Rhea, was sitting alone under a umbrella in the garden. I went to her and asked “ Are you okay?” 

She didn’t reply a single word, but, nodded a yes. I knew it wasn’t the truth. I tried to convince her, to share her problem with me.
