Happy Inspirational Kids

"Oh Peter, won't you just try?" annoyingly begs Allison. "It's just the greatest feeling to be able to create a piece of art out of your own mind." Peter ignores Alison, as if she isn't even speaking to him. But the kid goes on and on, like a broken record. Didn't she realize that Peter was a boy, and boy's like to do boy stuff. Like hunting, & baseball, now those were two of Peter's favorite things. Sliding into home-base after you've just hit a fly-ball, or catching a 10 lb. catfish and reeling him in as he puts up a fight for his life. Nah, she was a boring little sister and all she cared about was playing tea party with her dolls yesterday. She begged me, and even shed some tears because I wouldn't play with her then. I wish it would stop raining, at least then I could go in the tree house. Dad said he did not want me up there if it were raining. So I guess I could play a game of battle ship with her, if she wants to. It's my turn to pick the game, she had her turn yesterday. "Peter, come on you'd probably be really good at drawing too. Maybe you'd like to paint. Just try it please. I have pencils, colored pencils, chalk, paints, rulers, coloring books, drawing paper, glitter, sharpeners, and I will let you use the canvas daddy bought me last week if you'll just give art a try; you can use any of my art supplies." Rachel pleaded. She sounded so desperate, but I wasn't giving in again like the last time. She tried to put a bow in my hair when I played tea party with her yesterday. Yeah, that's the thanks I get. I bet she'd paint my fingernails pink if I would let her. No way would I ever let her do that, but I bet she would like too.

Rachel makes a sad face and is talking to her teddy bear. "Yeah teddy, Peter is supposed to be my big brother who loves me, and he won't even draw a castle for my princess, teddy I am all alone and can't go outside to play." Rachel sniffles. Oh no, she starting to pout. Everytime she criess and Dad finds out the reason, I have to play her game. Maybe if I go to Mom, she will play with her. So Peter goes outside to the porch swing and finds his mother sewing a button back on a shirt for Dad. Peter says to his mother who's name was name Anna, "Mom, Rachel is really sad and pouty because I don't want to play her little girly games, will you talk to her before Dad sees her, and makes me? Anna says, "Sure I understand, tell her to come here that I need her."  "Ok thanks Mom, I don't want to see her cry."

Peter runs and tells her, "Rachel, Mom says she needs you on the porch with her." By the time Peter had gone out and talked with their mom, Rachel must have started crying. Peter hated to see Rachel cry, so he had an idea. He would draw a castle with a mote, a bridge, and a knight in shining armor at the bottom of the castle. Peter had never really drawn before, but he would give it a try for a surprise to cheer up Rachel. Plus he saw that in one of her books lying open on the floor. Then she could draw a princess, flowers, rainbows, and any other kind of girly stuff she wanted. Peter took the canvas and had a desk, and pencil in his room. Their mother, Anna had Rachel going through her stuffed animals to see if they needed to be sewn up, or their clothes needed to be mended. Meanwhile Peter was in his room working on the drawing. Surprisingly Peter found that he had stored a picture perfect memory of the castle scene in his head. Peter drew the castle and enjoyed drawing each intricate detail when he drew the mote. He put both alligators and crocodiles in it, you see he knew the differences in their appearances. Basically the biggest difference was in there noses, or snouts. Peter could remember this from many animal documentaries he watched on television with his Father. He went to his desk and got to work. Sometime went by, and it must have been alot because the sun was going down now. How long had Peter been in his room, he heard his mom calling him for supper.

Anna came into Peter's room and was so impressed with the drawing. "My son, you certainly have a talent, that looks just like a page out of one of Allison's books. Will you bring that to the supper table and show your Father." Peter said, "Yeah sure Mom, but it was supposed to be a surprise for Allison, I was going to let her add the princess and flowers at the bottom. But I drew it all, I guess I was having fun and kind of got caught up. You see I can...." Anna interrupted, "Yes, yes you can tell us all at the supper table, and I will go find something to wrap it in so you can give it to Allison as a surprise. now go wash up, your Father and sister are waiting on us to start eating." The mother and son went straight away to do as discussed.

Peter went to the dinner table, and momentarily joined by Anna, she brought the canvas wrapped in shiny silver paper with a golden bow on it, and set it down against the wall behind her chair. Mr. Thompson, who was both the husband, and Father said, "Why thank you for joining us, let us pray." The family bowed there heads and Mr. Thompson led them in a prayer.

The entire Thompson family bows there heads, and holds hands as Mr. Thompson prays. "Mommy, what is that package behind you?" whispers Allison. "Let's eat supper, and then your brother will tell us all about it." Alison smiles, "I love roast beef, Mommy... my favorite."

Oh that was Alison, anything her mommy cooked for her was her favorite. Alison really adored her Mommy. She captivated her every time she dressed in an elegant dress, and wore her golden sparkly jewelry that Father had bought her. She was a model of beauty, and grace that made Allison want to grow up to be like her so much. Why Allison simply adored her, and never doubted her kind nature.

Well, supper was over, everyone brought there dish to the sink and washed, dried, and put it away. It was time for Peter to reveal the surprise. Allison was filled with excitement. Peter got up, and brought the wrapped present to Allison. Peter began, "Allison this is for you, I hope you like it." Allison was pleasantly surprised, and their Father looked at Peter with a look of endearing respect as if he were proud. Allison carefully opened the gift and her mouth slowly opened as she stair in silence. "Well Allison, are you going to let us see?" asked Anna.

Allison turned the canvas around to reveal an intricate portrait like drawing. "Son, did you draw this by yourself," Mr. Thompson asked.  Confidently Peter nodded his head quickly with an expression that revealed his own personal marvel at his artistic ability. He smiled quickly and said, "Well, Dad she really wanted me to and I didn't know how good I would be at drawing, but once I got started it was fun. I just glanced at a page in her book, and when I started to draw the mirror image was stuck in my head. Remember that show we watched about the alligators, and crocodiles last night. Well, I put some in the water around the castle to spice things up. I just kept drawing, and had so much fun making it. Do you really like it too?" "Son, I think you have found a hidden talent in your new hobby.
