The dead man

“Hi, Allan what’s up dude, I hope you haven’t forgotten me. “ I got the shock of my life, it was David, and everyone thought he was a dead man. But lo, he was right in front me a tall dark 6.2 ft tall handsome character smiling at me. I got a bit scared I hope it’s not a spirit. “Hugh, I laughed at my folly”. He was actually there the man who was confirmed dead was actually standing in front of me smiling. “Hi, Dave, You have left me flabbergasted, you were declared dead, how on earth you survived.” “Oh, that’s a long story Allan, will you just let me in or will you just make me stand here in the midst of the street”. Allan was so overwhelmed by seeing his friend who was considered dead by the police. He was found stabbed to death in his apartment, many years ago. I just couldn’t even imagine my friend would find such a grave end. He had received numerous stabs on his body which put him in his grave. That was the investigation report given by the police.

But today he is sitting next to me hale and hearty, Tears rolled down my eyes , I just hugged him and said, “ I’m so happy that you are alive” “Now tell me what was wrong with you , you lost touch with all your friends for so many years, and day you shocked us by your death news”. “What happened Dave, how did you end up being murdered.”

Dave, Allan, Samuel and Tony were the best buddies during their college years. They were a group which was always envied by other college mates. These four friends were always together hand in hand. Those college days were full of fun and this group was the best of all the lot. They were esteemed students; even their teachers admired their intelligence. But something went wrong and the whole group got shattered, they started hating each other and there was no life left in their deep rooted friendship. Allan was shy natured and silent whereas Dave was the most talkative. Samuel and Tony were very smart fellows.

“Come on; tell me Dave we lost touch with each other after the fight on the last day of college. That was on a send of party where we had all gathered to bid good bye. I just left early on that day; I could just find out that there was a big fight between the three of you. Then the next when I tried calling you guys all of you had left and not to be seen. After many years then one day I was shocked to see the newspaper which said that you were murdered. “

“Today I can see you alive in front of me. Are you guys playing a game or tricking me. You know how hurt I was when I my dear friends broke up and added to that your death.” Allan was almost crying. He was a gentle guy of course and very emotional too.

“Allan,” Dave exclaimed, “I know how it feels when close friends break up without any notice and disappear, you were our most delicate friend we should have informed you”. “But the situation was such that we really felt ashamed to discuss this”.”What is that to be ashamed of which couldn’t be discussed with me”. Dave replied,” Nowadays those things are very common but during our teens the society wouldn’t accept that kind of relationship and you were very simple and straight forward and with a very decent character. So it was difficult to discuss such things with you”.

“Oh, com'on Dave now, we have all grown up matured people you can tell me what it is. Don’t kill me by hiding anything I’m already dying to find out the reason for all the untoward incidents which were s shocking”. Allan was truly desperate to find out the reason.

“Hmm , with a heavy breath Dave replied,” That day , on the college send off party, you remember we all enjoyed so much and we were completely drunk we were on high spirits and you were a good boy among us , hence you left early as your mother wanted to. But do know what happened after that, I know it might be shocking but you have to know the truth behind these incidents. Tony just pushed me aside and held me in his arms and kissed me passionately. I was actually trembling, that was new to me. I am not a gay; I was always attracted to girls. It was unexpected and this created a trigger. You know Allan; we were so innocent that we didn’t even know what was happening behind us. Tony and Samuel were in a relationship. And I was a forcibly entry in between, unknowingly I became the root cause for the big barrier in our friendship. Though Tony was in relation with Samuel he always eyed on me and this irked Samuel. We just broke up without even informing you, you were the best among us. Hence I didn’t want to disturb you with all this mess.”

“One day Tony made a visit to my house. Though I didn’t want to meet him, he forced into my house. I couldn’t stop him and he just forced me for a physical relationship. This was too much to handle for Samuel, without even thinking he stabbed me so hard that I was almost declared dead. I was in a coma for a long time. Though Samuel was jailed for a life sentence, he was released after a few years. I was so scared that he would attack me again hence I gave a false alarm of my death. I was in hideout for many years and now I’m right in front of you hale and hearty. And I just don’t know what happened to Tony, Thank my stars he is not behind me, I hope he has learnt a lesson not to force someone for a relationship. “He is behind you” exclaimed Allan with a gentle voice. “You lied all the way, you tried to molest Samuel’s sister hence he stabbed you, you are a liar. And you know Sheena , Samuel’s sister was the girl I loved so much but you did wrong things with her , you abused her physically hence take this deathly stab from my on behalf of my beloved wife who has lost her senses because of a rapist like you.” Allan stabbed hard on his chest along with Tony stabbing Dave from behind.” This one is from Samuel”.” And this time I won’t let you survive”. Allan yelled”. Tears rolled down his eyes when he saw his wife Sheena on the bed smiling at him. Samuel was also smiling in the picture on the wall. He loved his sister so much that he couldn’t bear the trauma his sister was facing. Hence he had met his end by killing himself.
