Mako,book 1
Light, in the dark tunnel.
Chapter 1: A Bully.
“Alright Brian, time to go to school.” Said Brian’s dad. “NOOOOOOOOOOO!” Yelled Brian, after coming back from a fun weekend. “Don't worry, the school year is almost over.” replied his father. “Whatever.” Muttered Brian. He got up from his chair and put his leftover cereal in the sink. He then proceeded to get his backpack, pet his cat Clover, and go to school. It was a pretty normal day at school, until they were about to leave for recess. “Class, today instead of going to recess, we will be going to the aquarium!” Said Mrs Salner, Brian's teacher. “I'm so excited to see the sharks!” Said Colby, whispering to his friend. Colby flashed an evil grin. Brian stared at Colby, with an annoyed grin back. “What are you looking at?”Asked Colby. “You scared of some sharks?” “If you're so brave, Then why don’t you go into the shark tank and swim with them?” Replied Brian. Colby responded with an annoyed look, and then ignored the reply. Brian had a horrible fear of sharks, and Colby knew it. Once, they went on a field trip to the aquarium a few years earlier. Brian the whole trip, waiting in the entrance of the aquarium. When another classmate asked Brian why he sat out of the trip, he responded with “I don’t like sharks.” And Colby heard it. But this time, there was an assignment to be done. “We will be going into the shark tunnel at the aquarium and observing the sharks. Write down what you noticed in your notebooks.” Said Mrs Salner.
“Mrs Salner, I don't want to go into the shark tunnel.” Said Brian. “Huh? Brian, the sharks won’t harm you: they're enclosed by thick glass. Besides, we’re doing a unit on sharks, and this is the first assignment. No biggie.” Brian hated when Mrs Salner said “no biggie.” It was very irritating.
They exited the school building line. Mrs Salner always forced them to be in a single file line, and no one got the point of it. “Alright class, get on the bus.” Said Mrs Salner. Colby went ahead of Brian, and tripped him when Colby sat down. “ahhh!!” Yelped Brian. “Brian!” called Mrs. Salner from the front of the bus. “You need to quiet down. “Awww, did it hurt? You should be thankful it wasn’t a shark bite.” Colby and his friends chuckled a couple rude laughs. “Colby, that's enough.” Stated Mrs Salner. While on the bus, Brian spent a miserable time hearing Colby and his friends whispering and making fun of him, While the rest of the class simply did nothing to stop them. “I bet he's scared of fish,” “He wouldn’t dare to eat one.” Said Jason, one of Colbys friends. “What a wimp, his parents are probably ashamed of him.” Said Christopher, another jerk. Mrs Salner then flashed Christopher an upset grin. “That's it, Colby and the rest of you separate.” She said, She then split the three up, and left the rest where they were before. Brian was very happy about this, and decided to take a sprite can out of his backpack. “Alright class, we're almost there.” Said Mrs Salner. “Just a few minutes away. When they arrived, the class walked outside the bus, and followed Mrs Salner into the aquarium. At first, Brian just looked at fish and different sea creatures. It was at least better than doing math in school. But then, it all went wrong when they went to the shark exhibit. “Okay class, it's time for the assignment, remember what I told you all to do?” Mrs Salner said. The class then gave a yes as a reply, Brian waited a few seconds or so to process the already processed information. “Y-yes.” Replied Brian. “Colby's group, you're up first!” Colby and his idiotic friends, Brian thought. They crawled through the tunnel easily, copying each other's notes while in the shiny blue tank. They climbed out, and Colby flashed another of his evil grins at Brian. “Good job boys.” Said Mrs Salner. “Thank you, Mrs Salner.” Replied Colby, trying to sound smart. “Alright, Brian's group, your next.” “Here we go.” Chucked Colby. Brian, Jack, Hillary, and David climbed into the tunnel. Immediately, Brian saw dozens of sharks. Brian gulped, and tried keeping his eyes as shut as possible, which does not make any sense. As the rest of his group was writing, Brian just tried to not spot the sharks, which he did. A lot of them. “Are you okay?” Asked Jack. “Im-im fine.” Said Brian, with a strained voice. “Okay…” Replied Jack. Sharks stared at Brian, and swarmed around the tube. Brain tried opening his eyes, but was immediately greeted by dozens of sharp teeth all around him. “Ahhhh!!” yelled Brian, his heart pounding. He hit the glass. The sharks became magnets of the tube. “Brian relax!” This is an important assignment!” Brian's fellow group members backed up away from him, frightened. “I can’t do this!” Yelled Brian. “Brian, I'm going to email your parents, you have scared the heck out of me and your classmates, and nothing is wrong. Everything is completely safe. Hmm. I could go for some lucky charms right about now.” Brian tried to protest. “But, Mrs. Salner, I have Galeophob-” Brian was cut off by Mrs Salner saying “Brian, you are going to have to go to the principal’s office! “Why?” “Look what you did!” Brian spotted a long thin crack along the plastic floor. “But, Mrs. Salner-” He immediately ran out, and bumped into Mrs. Salner. She was on facebook, “BRIAN!” The rest of his group did the same, but avoided their teacher. Brian turned, and saw Colby with his phone. “Haha,” chucked Colby. He high fived his friends, this is gonna blow up.
Chapter 2: The principle.
On the bus ride back to the school, Brain heard tons of laughs from Colby and his friends. When they got back to school, Brian immediately rushed to his mom to pick him up. “Hey!” “How was school today?” Asked Brian’s mom. “It-it was okay.” Brian lied. It was horrible. Brian then played video games on his xbox for the rest of the day. When he waked up in the morning the next day, he tried to convince his mom without telling her about what happened yesterday to not go to school, but then he went to school. While he was walking in the school, someone tapped him on the shoulder. It was Mrs Salner. “Brian, go to the principal's office.” Brian did as he was told and entered the principal’s office. “Care to explain what happened on the field trip?” The principal, Mr Tucker, asked. “I-I didn't want to go in the shark tun-n-nel.” “And why was that?” Mr Tucker’s voice sounded slick, and evil. “I don’t like sharks,” Brian said. “ Your buddy Colby recorded you, he uploaded a video of you on youtube.” “You're a meme now, and now everyone around the world is probably thinking that this school is horrible!” “It is.” Brian mumbled “You have damaged the property of the aquarium, and ruined the experience for your classmates!” “Now get out of my office, you're pathetic.” Mr Tucker stated, as his voice became more evil, by the second. Brian ran out, crying in frustration, why the heck is the principle like this? He thought to himself. He knew that the principle was strict, but isn't that what schools do NOT want, he thought as he walked down the hall, towards his class. Then he felt a tap on his shoulder. The kid who tapped him was in 7th grade and named Reed. He was holding a book that was called “War and Peace.” Brian could already tell he was a pristine student. “What do you want?” Asked Brian. “I saw what Colby did to you on youtube. I know that he is talking about your whole class behind their backs. I want to show how evil he is to everyone, and why he should be suspended. He has no justification for what he did, but he has reasons, reasons, not excuses. 2 different things. “So let's expose him, I have a bunch of videos of him talking about everyone behind their backs. I have been pretending to be his friend, so he won't see this coming.” “That's genius, when do we do this?” “Tomorrow, at recess. Mr Tucker will be inspecting the yard, and the superintendent is coming too.”
Chapter 3, The light awakens
The next day at recess, Brian and Reed met up in the yard, and they confronted Colby. “Oh look who it is, the kid who's afraid of a fish.” “And you, Reed?” “What are you doing here?” A huge crowd of people gathered around the 3 boys, including Colby's friends. “You're about to be exposed, Colby!” Reed proceeded to play footage of Colby talking trash about the whole class. “That-that's LIES!” “I would never, ever DO THAT TO ANY OF Y-” “Shut up! We see the footage playing, you're a liar.” Stated one of Colby’s friends. A huge amount of people said “Yea, us too sorry buddy.“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“SHUT UP!” Yelled Colby and tried to punch Reed. Reed dodged, and made Colby unbalanced, he then tripped Colby, vengeance for Brian. Colby got back up and tried punching him again, but was seen by Mr Tucker. “Hey! Hey! Hey! What's the meaning of this?” “There shouldn’t be any physical violence in my school!”
Colby ignored Mr Tucker and tried tripping Reed, it didn't. work, and Reed kicked Colby to the ground “Colby you're suspended.” Mr Tucker said. The janitor came out of the building. “Mr Tucker! You have been fired by the department of education!” “What? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The superintendent walked out of the building, as well as Mrs Salner. “Mrs Salner, me and the DOE have decided it's time for you to step down.” “WOOOOOOOOOOOO” everyone cheered, she had not been nice to many others. “Now give me your D.O.E licenses.” The superintendent said.
Mrs Salner gives the license to the Superintendent who rips it up. Everyone starts cheering. Colby was suspended for 4 months, The school finally was bully free. Everyone was happy. And Reed understood Brian’s perspective because of when that happened to him and his friend A year earlier. Thank you for reading this story.
Colby arrived home, exhausted and frustrated. “Colby, mom and dad said you're grounded. For 5 months.”Said Colbys… Sister. “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

LOL - I have a middle schooler, and is exactly the type of thing he would love. I might have to read this to him, because I think he would laugh hysterically. You might want to go through it with a fine tooth comb and double check some of your punctuation and sentence structures, but overall I loved it! I've written some more feel good children's stories where the characters get along and learn life lessons. My son was not impressed. "Preachy, boring, this isn't Sunday school, Mom!" This kind of thing is much funnier and more relatable to ...
