I woke up to the world rumbling, everything on my shelves were falling, the books fell into a sprawled state, bending as the fell onto the ground. I got up, I started hearing screaming, from every direction. screams of pain and agony.
i looked outside to see what was happening. I saw cracks everywhere, the ground splitting in half down the road with a terrifying speed, I saw cars falling into the sinkhole the earthquake was creating, but I never heard them crash.
I saw mailboxes, and electricity poles falling left and right, the screaming only got louder, and then I saw the wave. the tsunami. But that's not possible! there's no ocean for miles and miles! unless it was the ponds and lakes, but there's no way there was THAT much water, right?
I ran out of my house, breathing heavy already, I felt like I needed to run, but I needed to get higher, those waves are far away so I have maybe 5 minutes? I looked around for a tall building, but it was useless. There weren't any for miles, and driving would be dangerous. But what choice did I have? I ran inside grabbing my keys before sprinting into the car. The engine didn't stall and I flew out of there.
Speeding down the neighborhoods road, I saw no one, but I heard screaming still, however muffled from the cars engine and the doors. I zoomed to downtown, with the tall buildings. I practically jumped out of my car and started sprinting into the building.
ELEVATOR OUT
I saw the sign in front of the elevators, "Fuck!" I ran to the stairs leaping up them 3 stairs at a time, fighting to keep my breath, my legs burned more than they ever have. I was breathing heavy, and I wasn't sure how much further I could go by the 10th floor.
I pushed on, hearing less screams, I knew the wave was about to hit, I felt myself regain some strength as I pushed further, and to the top. But then, there was silence. I tried to open the door, but something was stopping me. I slammed into it, hearing it groan.
I stepped back immediately, Water is stopping me, thank god its a metal door, but how much time do I even have left? I looked down the stairs, seeing water begin rushing up quicker than I would want. within 10 seconds the first floor was under, and 12 more the second was under, at this rate I had 100 seconds left. cuz I was at floor, 15.
I went to the corner, let myself understand I was going to die here, but what if the water at the top is gone before hand? I gotta make sure. But at the rate the water is coming in, its not down yet. Around a minute and a half later, I went to the stairs and checked again. It was only at story, 9. "What?" I couldn't help but ask in my confusion. and then I remembered that the water has to lower eventually. I went to the door and pushed on it, nothing.
I tried again, and I broke the door, it fell down in front of me. The flat roof I was looking at was soaked from the water, but the water was still high, around 11 stories high. I looked at the other still exposed roofs, and saw people, but I couldn't see their faces, at all. its like they didn't have any. I felt a shiver run down my spine.
POP
I looked in front of me, where I heard the pop. The water was boiling, and that was one BIG bubble. I saw more bubbles, I shuddered at the thought of that being someone drowning. But was it boiling, or was that drowning? I felt the water, lukewarm. It wasn't boiling from what I could tell. Someone had just died.
The water lowered, slowly at first, but then it was as if it had just start disappearing, I stood up quickly, to investigate. Another tsunami? Is that what this was? No, it was just going away. I sat there for a while, waiting.
But suddenly, when I looked ahead, I saw red, oozing from a mountain, and more of it exploding upwards in a fiery blaze of death, ash and rock erupted. After 2 minutes, I felt a sense of heat. Suddenly, as if instinctual, I sprinted inside, afraid that there might be a wave of heat, as if it was a nuclear bomb.
As if on cue, the second I close the door, the metal went red, and started bending, the whole building groaned and creeked. I sprinted down the stairs, prepared to drive away yet again. The building started to tilt once I got 5 floors down, so I started jumping down the stairs. By god my legs hurt so much.
I got to the lobby, and the building started falling, screaming as it did so. I sprinted into the glass door, it shattered against the sudden impact. Heat slammed against my body and face, not enough to burn me anymore, but it hurt my eyes and mouth, maybe that was gas but. I sprinted into my car, looking up I saw a massive rock, headed straight for me. I Slammed on the gas, reversing away, before turning and driving forward out of there.
I didn't stop, I sped up, the seat and steering wheel burned, and all the glass had melted, but I had to keep going or I would suffocate, or burn to death. eventually after around 30 minutes, I got to another mountain. I looked around, there was water, and volcanoes, and sinkholes everywhere. Anywhere that wasn't drowning was burning, or was gaping.
I felt the ground shake, I looked down watching the ground split under me, I tried to move away, but I fell into the crack, falling. I felt the heat rise, I couldn't breath, My lungs burned, my entire body burned as I fell deeper.
"FUCK!" I screamed jolting awake, sitting upright sweaty and breathing heavy, it was all a dream. I was ok.
