After 358 years of isolation and surrounded by undead the Lich King Riter was bored and lifeless. Every friend he ever had been long dead. Their bones now only serve as vessels of magic to keep him alive. Memories began fading and tasks like walking required undead servants to carry and steady him. Every 10 or so years, he would leave his black pyramid to see the current events and any progress the nation he called his "hideout" was making. Most of the time it is just another cult in power struggling to unite the country and invade Kamo only to be overthrown or taken out by Kamo's forces. However, when King Riter was 473 years old a group of necromancers came to him to ask for his help, but he refused. This went on for days until King Riter was too tired to and reluctantly agreed to give aid to their forces. King Riter then used his magic to reinforce his body with bones and armor and went to help lead the undead forces. He took part in the Three Deaths War. His leadership and power allowed the White Valleys to make good progress until they were outside Kamo City, defeated in a massive battle. One of the many mistakes King Riter made was killing a dwarf named Lukus, for by doing so he saw a half-orc become an Elemental Titan which completely and utterly crushed his army. As the war went on White Valleys were pushed back. His forces were completely crushed in every battle. His body nearly shattered as Kamo's magicians were far stronger than he thought. He then realized he made a huge mistake taking part in this war which brought him nothing but death and despair. He made his pyramid a necromancer fortress which housed thousands of necromancers. Then it got sieged and most of them died in that final battle. King Riter was spared since he was considered a "valuable source of information, and an artifact of a long lost time." by the King Kamtoe of Kamo. Yet the worst punishment had to be that King Riter was forced to pay a tax to Kamo and had to deliver the money personally and apologize every time he did so in front of the court of Kamo as well as the Silver Mountains, and Green Swamps.
In the first year of this. King Riter rode in on an undead dragon in the streets of Kamo. He came up with chests full of gold, jewels, and priceless artifacts which were carried by undead horses and other creatures. Crowds line up along the streets seeing their former enemy now showing that he was no threat to them. They were silent, still haunted by the war, and still recovering from the damage. King Riter then made his made to Kamo castle and had to be carried by his undead servants for he wanted to prove he was no threat to the people of Kamo. "Hello, King Kamtoe. I have brought all the riches of my house to yours as agreed upon in the treaty. I will say that the sorry state that you see me in is not a trap but merely a sign that I am no threat to you or your people any longer. I wish only to atone for my actions during what some are calling the Three Deaths War. From now on during this ceremony of mourning and remembrance, I will enter here like I am now. This humiliation will remind me and my fellow neighbors of the cost of fighting Kamo. Now I must take my leave and go to the Silver Mountains and do that same." before he left King Kamtoe asked for King Riter for some knowledge of the past. He asked about the people and past kings of Kamo. King Riter didn't remember much however he stated that his library (which managed to remain untouched by Kamo's forces when they sieged his pyramid just a year ago.) may have that knowledge and that the scholars can come to take a look and do any research they wanted. A gift for not paying attention to the world around him.
Then he made his to the Silver Mountains. He paraded up the Skyheight Mines and met the Mastes there and gave them riches beyond compare and artifacts from their cultures that were centuries old. They accepted the gifts with disdain and disgust. They were still bitter about the war and how many of their people died because of the chaos. "I understand that my actions have no excuse. I was weak-minded and tired. May your people rest well and know that they will not be raised to take more life from this land by my hand or magic." with that King Riter left the Silver Mountains and to the Green Swamps and last stop and the stop he dreaded.
He went to the capitol and dropped off his tribute in the courtyard. For he didn't want to stay any longer than he had to. Then the king of the Green Swamps came out and hugged him. He was a cheerful and respectful fellow. It seemed any scars left behind from the war hadn't broken the spirit of the half-orcs. The half-orc king was named Ship and they talked for hours about the war, the chaos, and death, and how he became king after Queen Zephren was overthrown. Luckily they never met on the battlefield for they formed a friendship that would last until King Ship died just a few decades later.
King Riter continued his tradtion of going to the three countries and would remind the king and queens of the true cost of war, he would tell tales of his part in the story, and he would give them wisdom no teacher or scholar could give them. In fact, as the decades went by, he came to like engaging with the world around him learning, and seeing the progress the people would make in science and magic. Then when Noone came along he offered his resources, armies, and wisdom to the Chosen One. A century later and he would debate with Lichstein about many topics which made him grateful that he was not alone anymore. He still watches from the shadows in his pyramid and still makes his way around the Nocee Empire, he also continues to apologize for his part in the Three Deaths War even to this day.
