Ring Ring - 8:12pm

Ellen: Hello?

Brenda: Hi, dear.

Ellen: Hi Mama.

Brenda: So, how are you?

Ellen: Not much different from your call yesterday.

Brenda: Well, your brother is really having a problem at work. Do you know of anywhere he could work that would be a good fit for him?

Ellen: I'm not sure. I thought he had a great job at that new startup, Apple. The only company I know of that would have a position for him would be Nokia. They are trying to do all these crazy things with phones, you wouldn't believe . . .

Brenda: Oh, that would definitely interest him. He's always been interested in that technology. One time, I caught him taking the toaster apart. He didn't get zapped too bad, just enough to teach him to unplug whatever he is working on before he starts working on it.

Ellen: Oh, Mom.

Brenda: It happened cross my heart.

Ellen: How did that new job go?

Brenda: I'm still there, but I'm not sure it's for me. I'm still in the training, and I can't understand the whole typing and using their computer system thing.

Ellen: Well, Mom, you are getting to be that age. Have you ever considered cutting your losses and just retiring?

Brenda: I’m too young for that.

Ellen: Okay Mama, I should be going, bedtime and all.

Brenda: Okay, send my love to Karen and Roger. Love you all.

Ellen: I love you too, Mama. Love you bye.

Brenda: Bye.

Ellen: Hello?

Karen: Oh, Mom, thank you for answering. Oh God. I never thought this would happen.

Ellen: Slow down, honey. Are you safe right this very second?

Karen: Janey was with me, but she left with another guy.

Ellen: Where are you?

Karen: I’m at the new club downtown called Dos Lobos.

Ellen: Where specifically are you?

Karen: I'm at the pay phone at Conway and Pratt Street

Ellen: Read me the number.

Karen: 123-432-5131

Ellen: I will have a police officer come and get you. Don't go anywhere, stay on the line, and don't hang up.

Karen: Okay Mom. <beat, beat, dialtone>

Emergency: Hello, what is the nature of your emergency.

Ellen: Yes, hello; my daughter is alone in the city and needs help.

Emergency: Okay, do you know her last known location.

Ellen: She's on the pay phone on Pratt and Conway. The number there is 123-432-5131.

Emergency: Okay, I am going to patch into her line. Please hold.

Karen: Hello Mom? She said she was going to patch me through.

Ellen: Hi baby, it's your Mama. Everything is going to be okay.

Emergency: I have sent out a patrol car. You should be picked up in just a moment.

Ellen: Thank you very much.

Karen: Yes. Thank you. Oh, I think he’s here. Yes officer. He says his name is Officer Johnson. Is that right?

Emergency: That is the officer that I have assigned to your call.

Ellen: Now that you're safe, you will be in a world of trouble when you get home.

Emergency: Have we sufficiently resolved your emergency?

Ellen: Yes.

Karen: Yes.
