Springtime has come. The winter snow has stopped to fall but the cold winds and changing weather still exists from cloudy and rainy days to half day sunshine to April showers occuring in the afternoon. . People doesn;t know what to wear whether the winter coat or the spring coat. Trees are beginning to sprout their spring buds and the ground is becoming green. Soon the spring flowers, flowering shrubs and trees bloom. There is a feeling of refreshed mind and physically there is a renewed energy to anticipate the weather of springtime and summer. The nearby lake is a hub of beachfront walkers to take a morning exercise along the shore which is now fully develop for such purpose. There are manicured flower beds and hanging planters to set the eyes in wonder of its colorful beauty and trees spread their swaying branches on an afternoon stroll and rest under them later on. Visitors mostly on weekends spend their time at this park right at the beginning of summer to cool them off. A long weekend holiday will provide them a memorable vacation experience when it becomes an Amusement Park. The City brings in the Ferris Wheel and other entertainment to amuse the city residents. Swimming is also opened and a lifeguard is there to safeguard their safety. Another long weekend is a Festival for the artisans to come and sell their wares. Pizzas are sold as a fund raiser by selected charity organizations. Another long weekend is the Dragon Boat Festival where the competitors vie for the Gold Medal. These all happens in Summer making the lakeshore busy all summer long. That Saturday morning Wilson agreed with Mina to have a walk along the lakeshore. Wilson picks her up at their house. Mina has finished her breakfast early and dressed up for the morning walk. She chooses a hoodie to cover her head entirely including her ears to avoid the cold. She chooses a rubber shoes rather than a winter boots. She feels they are more comfortable on her feet while walking. She heard the sound of the car and checks it by looking out at their front window. Wilson ls now on their driveway. She snatch her water bottle and waste pouch and put the strap around her waist. She heard a knock at the door opened it and let Wilson come in. He is on his winter coat . "Why are you on winter coat? " she asks. "Just incase the temperature change, you know how unpredictable the weather is," he answered. "Do you want to have a coffee first?" "No, Let's go, I have already before I headed out," The lakefront was not too far so they were there in a few minutes time. They park within the park parking lot. Some other time they have to park somewhere when it is a holiday. The park parking lot is really full. Wilson opened the door for Mina and they walk hand in hand to the concrete walkway. This place is very memorable to Wilson and Mina having first met and know each other . They learned that they are officemates. Both of them are working at the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. Wilson is the Cabinet Minister while Mina is a researcher. Both of them come from a political lineage. Wilson's father was a former cabinet minister while Mina's uncle held the same position at the provincial parliament. Walking is just a simple way to spend time together and the most exciting part is experiencing the different types of weather in their own place at this time and at this place. The election has just finished and Wilson being the winner having taken his Oath of Office while Mina will renew her papers as a researcher. Holding executive positions carries the cost of high salaries as government appointees. The politicians may appoint whomever they know deserves the position. Mina prepared herself for this position when she volunteered with an organization raising funds to protect one of the Great Lakes. She is eyeing to make a proposal to conserve water by not using plastic bottles instead she would like to propose that water treatment plant like the commercial water plant used by water companies will be constructed beside the Water treatment plant. Water is supposed to be free specially those who cannot afford to buy bottled water but drink the boiled tap water to ensure that it is really potable. Without boiling the bacteria may not be totally killed by the chemicals mixed into it. Wilson can help her including the funding being close to the Attorney General Incharge of releasing funds. So Wilson and Mina is a good match even in love. This lakefront is the place where their love bloom sitting on a bench holding hands looking up the sky hearing the chirping of birds and the sounds of waves hitting the big boulders of rocks arranged along the shore to prevent erosion. They watch the coming and going of the wild Canada geese, the swimming of wild ducks with their ducklings the sound of the loon on the lake. Today the weather is mild and there is a little bit of sunshine and white clouds not dark clouds are hovering the skies floating forming their shapes with the gentle pushing of air. When the strong winds pushes the air the weather changes into a turbulent then the clouds become dark and start the rains. These weather patterns is common in springtime. Wilson and Mina notice the sky is getting darker so they decided to leave. They decided to have a sandwich before going home and rest right away without bothering to eat lunch at home. Before the sessions at Parliament begins Wilson and Mina decided to have a break to take a vacation on a cruise to the Bahamas whom they believe it is exciting to spend the midsummer solstice. Yes that is the longest day in a year. From Northern Canada their plane landed in New York to embark on the cruise ship going to Bahamas. What a good weather in June to take the trip. Clear blue skies and there was no island hopping but straight to the island of Bahamas. One day they would wake up early to wait for the sun to rise or at short nights they have to watch the show or play games at the casino. When they arrive in the island of Bahamas the cruise ship dock at the Old Bahamas where the historical sites are located. There was a time when the British occupied the area where you can see the stark difference where the original settlers live and the British colonizers lived. At the seashore are divers of scones shells fishermen selling their fresh catch not on fish stalls but improvised tables to sell their catch. There may not be much progress of earning their lifetime livelihood. The only thing we could buy is the fresh coconut juice. Then we head to the Modern Bahamas. The streets are well paved and beautiful houses and gardens of the rich are located. The natives work here. Big game casinos and popular brand name stores are there to shop the favorite items of fashion shoes and jewelry. Mina didn't noticed Wilson bought her a ring that he kneeled infront of her before they went to bed putting it on her ringfinger. Mina realize how their love for each other has grown. Before they are back to Northern America they decided to tell their parents they are already engaged and the wedding will take place at the residence of Wilson as a Garden Wedding on the Midsummer of June on a Solstice Day. They have a longtime for preparation. They prepared the guest lists and hired a wedding planner. Her wedding dress will be ordered from Italy rather than France, it is Mina's taste not the choice of Wilson's side who migrated from France to North America. The wedding entourage included their political friends including the provincial premier. Their relatives from France and Italy are coming, the brothers and sisters of their parents. Two families of French and Italian descent will unite to have a stronger presence in the provincial political arena They invited political friends to be there to pay them back of their efforts and become loyal supporters for each other. Politicians secure their pensions after three terms or more serving as member of parliament. Their cooperation and unity is their stronghold to get the votes of their constituents. Businesses play a big part in their governance securing their support to the political party. The Wedding Day has arrived. Beforehand Wilson has a problem of their invitation list when they missed to invite their closest friend as one of the wedding sponsors. Their close friend is very disappointed why he is not in the list. However he is there before the start of the ceremony. Two weeks before the wedding Wilson called him to come early. His disappointment is dissipated when at the beginning of the ceremony he is beside Wilson as his Best Man to the surprise of the audience.GP
