Admirer Turned Mother

Katrina was a beautiful, successful business woman. She was 38 years old and everything in her life seemed to be perfect. Her business was doing great and her life was going on smoothly. But she was still unmarried. Of course, she had suitors and handsome gentlemen walk up to her to talk about building a relationship but according to her, she was too busy and had no time for such. Because, six years ago, she was not only heart broken but betrayed by the man she loved for six years. His name was Phil; charming but deceitful. He fraudulently took five million dollars from her and fled with his wife and three children. Katrina was totally unaware of the reality that she was with another woman's man; she was heart broken. Then, after doing all she could to recover her five million dollars back, she decided to be strong, move on and face business. For sure, she was single and not searching. 

   Suddenly, she found herself liking a young boy of about 22 years old. It seemed like she was about to be blessed by the New month. It was just the second day in the month of February. She saw him at a restaurant named 'Gugos' with his friends, when she was having lunch. After making her research by asking the waiter who served his friends drinks, she found out that his name was Justin. But, she never had it in mind to meet him personally and did not want to bring up suspicions by the questions she asked. That's why she did not even bother asking about his family or any other thing. At that moment, she just wanted to know his name and that was all she knew about him. Except for the fact that she could also describe his physical features.   Sometimes, she would always slap or pinch herself whenever she thought about him because to her, liking someone younger than her seemed immature, weird or even ridiculous. And so, she just never wanted to meet him and he also never knew about her. Katrina told her mother about Justin and her mother said it didn't seem wrong if she liked someone younger than her. So, Katrina decided to show her mother the young boy she liked, Justin.

   On the 10th day of February, Katrina went shopping with her mother and spotted Justin at the store. She poked her mum and pointed at Justin saying 'he is the one'. Her mother saw Justin and was in shock. So, they had to leave the store without getting what they wanted. Katrina wondered why her mother acted that way after telling her it's not wrong to like someone younger than her and so, she questioned her mother. Days later, Katrina's mum, Kate told Katrina that Justin was her son whom she thought was dead. Kate said Katrina gave birth to Justin when she was 16 as a result of being raped. Of course, Katrina knew that but wasn't aware of the whole truth. Kate said Katrina did not want an abortion and so, 9 months later she gave birth to Justin. Her mother said she could not bear the shame of having a daughter who gave birth at 16 because she was raped so, she gave Justin to a childless couple and told Katrina that her child died. Kate wanted her daughter to live her life to the fullest and enjoy her young age without being discriminated or ridiculed. Kate said the couple named him Justin and that she also got his pictures from the couple till he was 20 and never showed them to Katrina. The couple died in an accident when Justin was 21 and since then, he had been living alone in the house.

   Kate, Katrina's mother said that after the couple's death she could not tell Justin anything and also couldn't tell Katrina. She narrated the story in tears. Katrina was struck with shock, cried a lot and did not speak to her mother throughout the next week. She did not go for her usual visits and she even had to take three days off work. Eventually, after much distance, plea and guilt, Katrina forgave her mother. Her mother had always been by her side ever since the death of her father when she was 8. She could not manage to live with hatred in her heart towards the one who would sacrifice all for her; her mother. On a cool Friday morning, Kate and Katrina went to Justin's home but then, they you found out he was not present and so, they decided to wait for him at a nearby cafe known as "Cafe of the Cafes". At the cafe, Katrina's mother had steaming got tea while Katrina had a cup of Americano. They both had their beverages with honey and blueberry muffins. Hours later, they left the cafe and went back to Justin's house. This time, he was around. Certainly, they were clearly uninvited guests but at the same time, guests who didn't need to be invited; his mother and grandmother. When they came in, Justin offered them chilled water and waited to hear what they wanted to say. They could not muster enough courage to talk so, they invited Justin over to their home the next day. When he arrived, he was told the whole truth (of which took him days to get used to) and started living with his mother and grandmother. Katrina decided to set out a very nice house for Justin to live since he was growing into a proper gentleman. She wanted him to live the life he always wanted and to enjoy himself to the fullest. She did not want him to lack financially or even in parental love. She would just stare at him wondering how he had grown so much after she last saw him as a new born baby. Her motherly love was greater because she had finally found her child she thought she lost forever!
