Drama Thriller Suspense

"We've been dating for a month now and NOTHING! What am I doing wrong Bria? I asked my best friend while sulking in dramatic sorrow.

"Girl get over yourself. You've only been talking for a month." Bria said annoyingly.

"I guess." I said with a sigh before grabbing my purse. "I'll be right back."

Bria nodded and I made my way to the bathroom. We were at our weekly hang out bar off the corner of Bisonet. The same bar that I had also met him at. Bria and I were just chilling as usual. We'd only buy one drink and who ever wanted our attention buys the rest. Vincent bought both hers and mines, but held a conversation with me for what seemed like hours amongst a crowed bar. It felt like we were the only two in the room. His dark brown skin still had a glow under the bar like. He had a masculine chiseled face with a manly beard that left no part of his chin and upper lip untouched. The light hazel and green eyes were also hypnotizing and his voice was a deep brass that melted every bit of my coco brown skin.

"He must be coming by after I leave cause this is your 3rd time checking yourself." Bria said while still annoyed.

"No. I am going to meet him this time." I snapped back

"Let me guess, another surprise. The boy likes you girl. He's just taking his time, as should you. Have you not learned your lesson yet." her tone had switched to serious.

I gave her a stern look as I took a sip from my class. I wanted to believe that I had finally learned, or more so my heart had. Still, I was tired of feeling alone, or more so lonely. It had been 6 months since I'd broke up with DeVon and I was ready to move on from his cheating ass.

"I have learned. I haven't slept with him yet, so why the hell would it take this long to simply kiss someone. I can tell that he likes me, but what if he's just playing games with me." I was starting to sound like a whining brat to even myself.

"Please take your time with this one. He really does seem nice, but you never know these days. I say this because I love you girl. You know that." Bria had finally softened her tone to caring.

I knew she cared about me and always had since high school, even with all my shenanigans. My girl always had my back and I had hers. I just wanted what she had. She's been married for a year now to Jonathan and I was still looking for the right person to court me, but I really felt like I found that someone in Vincent.

"This is John, I gotta go. Take care of yourself and let me know when you make it back home." Bria was always the caring mother type. She'll be a great mom one day.

"Yes mom. I will." I said sarcastically while hugging her.

We parted ways and I made my way to the location that Vincent sent me. It was at a park and I was beginning to feel overdressed for the occasion as I got out my white BMW and made my way to the river side along the park in Gucci heels, but then I saw him and was assured. He was smiling bright as his white teeth reflected the moonlight, as did the yacht romantically lit along the river by the deck.

He guided me on board and we had such a romantic dinner set for two with candle light and fine wine. He'd hired a private chef to prepare our meal as well.

"What's on your mind beautiful?" his question carried a hint of concern.

"Do you like me?" I asked without thinking

"Is it not obvious that I do?" he said with a giggle as he looked around.

"Yes. I'm sorry for asking such a question." I felt so stupid for asking.

He suddenly stood from his chair and reached for my hand with a warm smile that melted my heart.

"Dance with me." he said and suddenly a man with a saxophone started playing music.

I was over joyed to take his hand and follow his lead as we slow danced on a yacht. It was perfect. He was perfect, but what sealed the deal was the soft pull on my chin to his face and the soft feel of his lips against mine. I was in a state of bliss that could not be undone by anyone or anything. I was in love.

"Hey Rhonda? Hello! Earth to Rhonda" Bria was trying to get my attention.

"What are you doing here?" I asked Bria confused. "Where is Vincent?"

"Girl you were so far in La La land that you thinking of him like that. Get yourself together. I gotta go." Bia stood to hug me from the bar.

"What just happened?" I thought to myself as I stood and hugged her.

""Please take your time with this one. He really does seem nice, but you never know these days. I say this because I love you girl. You know that." Bria said to me, again.

She said that to me hours ago, or so I thought. This must be dejavu or something, at least that's what I thought. I put in the address Vincent gave me and it led me to the park by a riverside like before. Was it like before? I must be out of my mind.

Vincent was smiling on a romantic lit yacht and helped me onboard. Our conversation went as before, similar, or I don't know anymore. To see if I could do it all again I asked the same question.

"Do you like me?" I asked.

"Is it not obvious that I do?" he said with a giggle as he looked around as before.

I was so confused, but had decided to just enjoy the moment, even if it was a redo. It was a wonderful redo. He reached for my hand as before and the man with the saxophone played such beautiful music. I remembered telling him that was my favorite instrument. Then he grabbed my chin to pull my face to him once more and, to my enjoyment, I embraced our first kiss once again.

"Hey Rhonda? Hello! Earth to Rhonda" Bria was trying to get my attention again.

"WTF IS GOING ON! I yelled.
