"Where are we now?" I asked the kind Traveler as me, him and some guy named Terrance came upon a desert of some kind. I looked all around beyond the small deserted shed that we just came through somehow. I say somehow cause we were just at Terrance's world of some kind. It felt like a Medieval Times in real life.
As much as I do love my fantasy, I unfortunately didn't see as much as I wanted to. Apparently from what I could gather is that Terrance just defeated a Dark Wizard, not just once, but twice. He wore a short brown beard along with long brown hair while his warbadore was made fit to be a King. By which, he was, except a knight and a King or how his people say the Knightly King.
"We have made it to Velsbrilos, Citalali." The Traveler answered me with the utmost respect. He was on the other hand, just a simple fellow who doesn't talk much about himself. Just that he's a traveler between dimensions. Apparently, he knows Rabinitron just as much as I do. In fact, the Great Space Rabbit even sent the Traveler to me after my Spacers as well as I just defeated the Baskenhert and his Empire too long ago. A hero's work is never done as they all say. I just hope my crew is okay; I miss them already.
"Who's the next Hallway Monitor, our dear companion?" asked Terrance, I mean King Terrance. He was so polite about asking the question that I tend to forget my own manners.
The kind Traveler responded with: "We got a cowboy to recruit, my fellow comrades. Please follow me. It's not too far from here," The way he said it got him all passionate about. I am amused that I was the kind of guy who loved westerns. I don't mind them but fantasy is where my heart truly sings. So I can honestly react how the Traveler must be feeling now.
So we followed the Traveler right there and then. Not too long did King Terrance asked the following: "A cowboy? What in Ulfronia is that? Is he a half cow, half boy?"
This is very understandable that a guy from a distant medieval world to not know what a cowboy is. They are two different genres entirely.
"A cowboy is a man who typically rides horseback. They can tend to the cattle, and gather up herds. Some are even outlaws of the desert," I mentioned all of this to King Terrance. By whom, was simply amazed that it looked like his head would explode.
The next thing The Knightly King said: "Why haven't I heard about this in the first place!? I would love that job. I mean, sure, it ain't like being a just knight and all. However, after what you just told me, that all fascinates me."
"Your world hasn't evolved, Your Majestic," pointed out the Traveler. "Not until a couple more centuries."
"Centuries? How do you suppose that?" asked the Knightly King.
"What the Traveler is getting at is that it would not be in a long while until you require a gun, Your Highness," I noted.
"Gun? Now, what's that?"
"Think of a crossbow but one that's in a metal tube with bullets to shoot."
"What a bullets?"
"They're a metal projectile from firing such a gun."
"Wow, the more you know, the more curious you become. I would have to make one myself after all of this. Where's such a weapon so I can observe it more clearly and in detail?" the Knightly King asked.
"Soon enough, Sir Terrance, soon enough," chimed in the Traveler. "We first need to find the cowboy. I'm also told he can make spells out of his bullets."
Both the King and I had our mouths dropped to the floor.
"So he aren't just any regular cowboy, then?" I asked for clarity.
"Nope, he's called a spellbound gunslinger named Jeb. One of the few of his kind. Him and his companions just save their deserts from the draught from an evil tyrant."
"Woah, that's something else. I can't wait to meet him. He sounds like a guy we can most count on. I'm sure he and I will get along, especially after defeating a tyrant myself. Twice in fact, but with help, of course," said Sir Terrance being so modest.
"Yeah, you're telling me," I agree. "My crew and I just beat a tyrant too not so long ago. Dude, really wanted to kill our boy Rabinitron so bad that we needed to put a stop to him, once and for all."
"Well, don't we have something in common already," nodded Terrance.
"Indeed, we do. However, we aren't the only ones with common goals are we, Traveler?"
"Right, you are. For like said: The Gadabout is planning on doing the same thing but not just to take over the world with his Empire. No, this villain plans to get an significant object to reset everything that we know of."
"The Doorknob of Conquest..." I reminded myself.
"Yep, that's the one. We just gonna recruit everyone that Rabinitron requested for this quest. That way, we can put an end to his chaotic madman."
"And this Gadabout you have mentioned before, he's you but how?" asked King Terrance.
"There are other universes than our own. Sometimes, even more. Most of them are multiverses that go beyond our comprehension. These multiverses have alternative realities beyond our imagination and dreams. Take me for example, I was brought here as the Traveler to monitor the Endless Hallway. I lost my wife but accept her death, and made a vow to protect this realm from collapsing. Gadabout, on the other hand, couldn't accept it. He felt like he was taken from his wife just to be Rabinitron's plaything. So, in the end, we are the same person but I'm on a different path than he is currently now."
"I see, I see," said Terrance. He continued: "So, you're saying that there's an alternative of me out there somewhere?"
"Yes, Sire, but not just one, but many more. More than what we can imagine."
"Wow, this day just keeps on getting curiouser and curiouser."
"I don't blame you cause this was news to me not too long ago," I mentioned with a smile.
"Exactly Citaltai. We're in this for the ride," agreed Terrance.
"Well buckle up, you two cause we have made it," grinned the Travelver.
In a short amount of distance, we could see a city that was filled with water towers from what our eyes could see. It almost looked like a castle from this distance. Who ever is this spellbound gunslinger, must be quite a hero in such a fascinating world. I knew I was excited to meet him, but I think the other two gentlemen are so more than me.
