One day in China, and girl named Chu Linh was picking flowers for her sick grandma. Linh was thinking about how nice it was when Po Cong ,her long time crush, came over to where she was sitting. This happened often, for Cong was interested in her as well .
"Hey Linh." Cong said happily waving.
''Hi."Linh laughed.
"What are you doing." He asked shyly.
"Picking Camellia flowers for my grandma. She's sick."
"Oh I'm sorry." Cong sat down beside her.
"Thanks."
"Did you know that Camellia flowers symbolize beautiful woman and men often give them to they're lover?"
Linh sighed. Oh how she loved him and his smarts. She watched as he picked up one of the flowers.
Cong was one of the smartest boys in there shcool.
"Chu Linh," he said tucking the light pink flower in her hair. "I think I'm fall..."
Someone cleared there throat behind them.
Linh and Cong scrambled to there feet.
"Linh time to go." Linh's mom snapped in her shrill voice.
"Uh ok."
"Hello Mrs. Chu I was just visiting your daughter." Cong said.
"Yes, yes, I see. Good day Mr.?"
"Po. Po Cong."
"Yes good day Mr. Po."
Linh walked over to her mother with her basket of flowers.
"Good bye, Mr. Po."
The whole walk to Linh's grandmother's house, Linh thought of what Cong was going to say to her. Maybe he loved her. Finally they reached her Grandma's house.
"Nǎinai we are here." Linh shouted.
"Come in Měilì de yīgè."
Linh and her mom entered the house and went to her bedroom.
"Hey Māmā, we brought you some champagne and grapes." Linh's mom said.
"Thank you Ling," Linh's grandmother said as Linh's mom handed her the basket with the flowers in it.
"I picked the flowers." Linh pointing to the flowers sprinkled around the champagne and grapes.
"There beautiful Měilì de yīgè. Almost as beautiful as you." her grandma said.
"Thank you Nǎinai."
Knock. Knock. Knock.
"Who could that be?" Ling, Linh's mother asked.
"Go open and see." Linh's grandmother said with a wink.
Linh ran to open the door and gasped when she saw a man standing there. He was tall with white blond hair and sky blue eyes. Holy god's he was beautiful.
He was so different then Cong instead of brown hair cut shagly he had blond hair cropped. Instead of small brown eyes he had huge blue eyes.
"Uh hi. I'm I'm Mark Willi... I mean William Mark." the man said.
"Oh uh hi Mark."
"Hey Làmèi. I believe that's the word for girl."
"Actually it means..."
Suddenly Linh's mother runs out and slams the door in Mark's face.
"Linh, go home now."
"What why."
"Go now."
Linh stomped out the door.
The next morning.
"Linh it's time for you to get married." Ling said.
"But why." Linh whined.
"I think you'll really like him."
Linh thought about Mark.
"When our we getting married?" she asked.
"Tomorrow night."
Linh was going to be sick.
"And that guy you met at your grandmothers, he is going to offiate you. He's from America you know?" Ling continued.
"Oh." That was all Linh, could say.
"He will also be preparing everything, so you will need to spend time with him this evening."
After hours of torture Mark finally came over.
"Hey Làmèi." Mark said with a smile.
Linh didn't bother telling him what it actually ment.
"Hey Mark." Linh took him to her room.
"So I visited your husband to be earlier today. So...uh...just say if you agree with his thoughts... actually never mind I'll just ask you questions."
"Ok."
Mark pulled out a notebook.
"Cake or cupcakes?" he read.
"Cake."
"Roses or Camellia's?
"Camellia's."
"Candles or lanterns?"
"Lanterns."
"Hotpot and Braised Pork Balls in Gravy or Chow Mein and Kung Pao Chicken?"
"Chow Mein and Kung Pao Chicken."
"White and red or blue and purple."
"White and red."
"Good job Làmèi."
"Thanks."
They leaned in close.
"Linh? Mark?" Ling asked.
They pulled away quickly.
"I think it's time for Mark to go." Ling snapped.
Linh blushed.
Mark left.
Linh couldn't stop thinking about him all night.
The next day had come. Mark had came earlier that morning and told her that they almost didn't agree on almost anything, so that would be every other from what she liked.
He also said it was a shame she was getting married or he would've kissed her.
Linh looked beautiful, even though she didn't wear any makeup she still looked as striking as a woman who did. She wore her silky black hair down and wore a white lacy dress with a red ribbon tied around her waist.
A bell rang. She walked down the alse the veil on her face was so thick she couldn't see anything. So her mother had to guide her as she walked.
She was said that her father couldn't be here to walk her down the alse. He had died when she was four in a car crash.
When she reached the end a man lifted up her veil. It was Cong. He smiled at her. She smiled back though she found it so impossibly hard to be happy.
Even though she was about to marry her long-time crush she couldn't help but be sad. She had been so focused on her thoughts that she didn't realize it was her turn to recite the vows.
She looked at her grandma and she winked.
She recited them.
It wasn't Cong she loved it was Mark.
She loved an American boy.
"If nobody has any objections I kn..."
"I do."
Everyone looked at her. She hadn't realized she had spoken.
"I'm sorry but I love somebody else." She said.
Then she grabbed Mark by the shirt and kissed him.
