The happiest day

This was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives but it wasn't. She had already planned for the wedding dress the one she had dreamt of wearing. If it wasn't for that stupid call; she received two hours before her wedding day, then she would have been married to the prince of her dreams. 

Her hands were frozen and her ears denied to listen whatever the person on the other line said. Her eyes were already dripping wet with tears. The word's rang in her ears loudly and clear enough for her heart to bleed. Happy life with Sam is what Nancy desired for. Together with him she could live anywhere and in any condition without complaining for once. The person on the phone had told her that her soon be husband had already eloped with her best friend Mary.

 The two important people of her life did something which she never imagined. She laughed at people who tried to tell her that catch your man before he slips off. She hated doubting people she loves. And now she is here sitting in her bedroom and shedding tears over herself. She was torn apart because she didn't wish for anything else after this. 

But if all our desires are fulfilled then there won't be anything to desired for. She knew that if Mary had told her the truth then she would be just heartbroken not left torned. The reasons for this was that she was orphan and Mary provides her a family and a place to live. Mary's parents always treated her like their own daughter that's why today's wedding was organized by Mary's parents. Nancy knows that these people have done a lot for her not only provided her education but also gave her a place to live. Sam could have told her the truth after all the three of them were best friends. 

Nancy took a shower and got ready to make this day happiest day for all those people who made her feel happy and wanted when she wasn't wanted even by her own parents. She did look at the white wedding dress for the last time slipping on the bridesmaid dress. She tied her hairs in a bun looking in the mirror at her reflection her eyes were still damp and red. She messaged Mary that "it was time to come back home. Also bring Sam you guys are supposed to get married infront of me." 

She didn't expected to get a reply from her ex -best friend. But she did got one . Mary replied that " won't be able to face you after the horrible thing I had done. Stealing my best friend's husband." Nancy called her and said " I know you guys are listening to me so I want you to comeback here and get married infront of me atleast you won't be breaking another promise of not inviting me in your wedding. Come soon I am already ready with my bridesmaid dress." With this she cut the call. It was already afternoon the time Nancy was supposed to get married was over and also her marriage before even getting married. 

She laughed thinking this and prepared herself to face the worst day of her life. Both of them came back and could only bend their heads infront of Nancy. Only Nancy knew how badly she wanted to hurt them and take revenge of her hurtings. But you don't hurt the things you love. They were already being shouted by their parents. Every friend in their friend circle looked at them with disgust in their eyes.

Today we are here to celebrate as my best friend's get married to each other. Sam Jone and Mary Blake congratulations. Guys I know that you all are thinking that I was supposed to get married and that those two have done something unforgivable that is right but won't it be more horrible if Sam married me though he had Mary in her heart forever.

I am thankful that they told me the truth at the right time. I am really happyfor both of them. I want you guys to give blessings to my friends and congratulate them. Whatever happened is for good. I also want to thank Sam and Mary for making me happy for this long since my childhood. Also Mr and Mrs Blake who have been a god to me for these past year's." "Sam congratulations for your wedding." She tried to stop her tears but couldn't, not infront of that person who wiped them since her childhood everything she cried. Today also his hand did try to wipe her tears but she just stopped him " I am alright and don't do this again I might think that you love me." She said laughing. "Listen Nancy I know that you won't be able to forgive me but it's just that after you went to university in Florida I realised I love her and not you. I am sorry for not telling you earlier." With every word Nancy felt how it feels when your heart is being pierced with knife. " It's alright now you have the person you love."

She left without another word and dried of her tears. The day was indeed happiest day but not for their lives. She watched her ex best friend's reciting vows to each other and slipping of the wedding rings to each other's fingers from the driving seat of her car. Everything was just the way she had dreamt of just leaving the fact that it was supposed to be her wearing the same ring and reciting same vows , with same man. How badly she wanted to stop this wedding and turn things the way she wanted to but it was all impossible. By then it was too late.
