Science Fiction Adventure Drama

Your name is Yazmine Rosser. You are 16 years old, and its been 29 days since your acidification day. Your eyes became an unusual lime-green color, your blood gleams with the shade of gold, your body took the ‘DOUBLE-SPECIES’ form in the acidified chart of species, and your DNA transformed to be similar to the one you would find in a lioness and a leopardess.

Almost 2 years ago, the seas and oceans were polluted with a substance that turned the water into a powerful acid that slowly started to consume the world. Everything it touches disintegrates within seconds or survives as an acid monster (that now you know as amon).

You fell into the acid 29 days ago and discovered a third, less known option. Running away from a couple of amons, you were thrown into the sea by the biggest one of them. You felt pain like never before, and you almost drowned… but you didn’t die that day. You passed out the moment you swam back to the shore, and woke up in the middle of a forest surrounded by people in your situation. They explained to you the basics:

*Since you survived your first encounter with the acid, you weren’t a human anymore. From now on, you would be known as an acidified.

*You now possess the ability to create fire from the proper air conditions and your own corporal heat.

*An acidified doesn’t carry their soul on their body, it separates from you and takes the form of a star of your blood color. To assure its well-being is now the biggest of your responsibilities, as in anything happening to it could be fatal for you.

*From the 4 possible species from an acidified to be, you took the ‘Double-Species’, which means that you own 2 completely developed animal species in your DNA. In your case, you have lioness and leopardess genes.

*You can shapeshift into 1 of the 2 species you own. Your body chose to keep the lioness genes to remain in your original form (the human-like one), meaning you shapeshift into a leopardess.

*You don’t possess any power or conscience at the time to choose your animal nor acidified species. Your body does everything for you, it knows best. Crying about it won't solve anything, so learn to live with it.

After a very harsh welcoming initiation, all the members agreed your stance in their camp, the one they called ‘Alanak’. They dedicate their full time, along with other similar camps, to keep the remaining human population as safe as possible from the acid and all of its dangers. They do this by patrolling the beaches and forests, fixing buildings, providing food to the ones in the hardest conditions, and bringing as many people as possible to the areas they patrol, among many other actions.

As part of the initiation, you were given a special jewel, created from your blood, capable of curing any physical injury that your body may suffer, along with a codename to use in special assignments out of the camp: ‘The Star of Fire’. Your name is Kara Yazmine Rosser Bay. This is really creative and I love that you write in second person, that's a really unusual and hard to get right perspective. It feels a little rushed sometimes, though, there are so many cool concepts you introduce I'd love to hear more about. Why was she running from amons? Are there societies? Who was Yazmine before this? I really like that you write so clinically, it almost feels like a doctor's report. It really hammers home the science fiction elements of the story. Putting the basics on a list also made it feel like a manual, whic...
