Fantasy Fiction Romance

You ever like someone so much you can't get them out of your mind? You think about that person all day and all night, it's frustrating. You smile but also frown knowing that they have no idea how you feel. It's a strange feeling -- a crush. You crush on somebody you feel like an idiot talking to them in your head and someone on the outside is looking at you like you're weird. Is it obsession? Maybe or maybe not. You see the person a lot because you work with them. You try not to look too much otherwise it's considered inappropriate. Nowadays just staring at someone is creepy (It is, don't do it). You sort of lean close to them but not too close again keep it professional.

You want to know everything about them. You want to know their last name, their favorite color, or favorite place to go to unwind in case you want to buy something in color of their choice or take them to the place just the two of you. It's hard. It's hard to like someone and they don't know. If they date somebody else, you hate that person even if they might be great. I see the same person all the time thinking if I could just go up to them and say something even a Hello will work. No. You pass by them, nothing. It's been a year. Nothing. They are talking to another co-worker mentioning they're dating someone.

Your heart is breaking on the inside and they have no idea. You want to cry in the bathroom. You want to not do anything. You are beating yourself up for not saying anything sooner. The best thing to do is say something . . . is it? Is it the best thing? What would they say if you told them how you really feel? That's the scary part. They might not feel the same way and that is the biggest fear of all. Second year. Nothing. I went up to this person and said hi. Just one word was worth the interaction the person said hi back and smiled. My heart was pounding with joy. That smile made my day. The smile was worth all the pressure thinking of ways to say something.

As time goes by, we start chatting like regular co-workers. No dating. Third year. Nothing. However, I gained a friendship with my crush. The more I got to know this person the more I am falling in love. Falling in love is worse than just a crush. A crush at least fades but falling in love is different. My friend is dating someone. Yay. More secret hatred to this other person. Why did I not just say I like you or ask to go out on a date? What a waste of years. From that point on I decided to date someone who had been into me for a while. This fantasy I had never came true. My fault entirely. I could've just told the truth even if I get rejected. As the sang goes Better Late Than Never. It should've happened. I should've had the courage to tell this person how I feel even if there's going to be a negative outcome.

All this happened when I was 19 got my first job at an Amusement Park and met my crush.

I am now 26 years old working as Market Management company. One day there was a meeting. We were closing a deal for Marketing the following Christmas and guess who was also there? My formal crush who used to be my friend until I quit my Amusement park job and got an Assistant job for Marketing. A reunion I didn't expect. My formal crush saw me and was beaming. We embraced each other after the meeting was over. We went somewhere at a coffee shop to talk catch up on old times. Then my formal crush reveals they are married. Instead of feeling heartbroken I actually felt happy. I have to realize this was not meant to be.

When my formal crush was leaving, I finally got the courage to say to their face when we worked together, I had the biggest crush and fell in love with them. Of course, their reaction is a mixture of shock and surprised. They're not sure how to respond. Well, in my case better late than never. I finally got that secret off my chest.

9 years later.

I am 35 years old. The CEO of the Management company saying goodbye to everyone at the office. I will be off in a week for my honeymoon. I am off to pick up my spouse. My spouse is my formal crush who got a divorce 5 years ago and looked me up and been dating since. We are driving to the airport. We are happy as ever. My spouse whispers to me as we're sitting in our seats at first class, "better late than never". The newlyweds hold hands, stare into each other's eyes, and kiss, leaning back to watch a movie.

The view of the sky is shown with a flying plane. A few seconds later the plane as well as the scenery turns black and white freeze frame. We reveal a scrapbook as the pages are closed by an elderly couple telling their grandkids how they met. The elderly couple have been married for 50 years but known each other since they were out of high school worked at an Amusement park. Who knew all it took was someone to say 'I was in love with you' can turn into a fairy tale? It sounds unrealistic like a movie as the grandkids tease. Yes, it does the grandparents agree. However, they believe it was faith. All it took was patience there is no time limit for love. Sometimes it takes one person to say something otherwise you never know what would've happened if you don't take the risk. It sounds corny and cheesy but it's the truth.
