Friendship

One bright sunny morning, Myra, Shreya, and Mahika decided to go on a girls trip to celebrate the beginning of their 10 year old friendship. All three were bonded with loyalty and admiration for each other. Each of them stood by the other’s side in ups and downs of their lives. Myra was a chirpy girl who had no boundaries when it comes to talking. Shreya was quite the opposite, calm as a

lake whereas Mahika was well balanced between the two. They were a perfect trio because of their complementing temperaments.

Mahika wanted to be an anchor for a famous tv show one day. Shreya also had her mind fixed onto journalism whereas the roller coaster girl Myra had ten options in her mind like her hobbies. She had tried everything right from skateboarding to swimming to guitar to being a fashion fiesta.

All three decided to meet at the train station on platform two. Shreya was the simplest and sweetest of the three , so she was still accompanied by her parents to the station. Dressed up in a blue jeans red tee she waited at the platform for her friends. While she was waiting, she took a sip from the cappuccino she got from the cafe on her way to the platform. Suddenly someone snatched the tissue napkin from her hand , as a result of which the coffee slipped from her hand an soiled the floor. Even the serene Shreya turned around with an angry face to see Myra behind her with her hands covering her face out of regret.

“Grow up, Myra” commented Shreya. Her anger fizzled out after knowing it was her friend.

“Sorry, but can’t help it” answered the whirlwind girl, Myra.

“ I have this newfound hobby of collecting tissue napkins of every eating joint or restaurant I visit. So please bear with this new hobby on this trip”

While they were talking Mahika called up on Shreya’s phone to confirm the platform number as she had arrived at the train station. After joining them Mahika was told about this new hobby Myra had developed since last two days.

“ Can’t you stick with a hobby for at least a month? What about your hobby of collecting pictures of all forts and palaces of our country?” questioned Mahika.

After winking at both her friends,Myra nonchalantly started looking for their compartment where their seats were. Mahika and Shreya looked at each other , sighing about, how many days is Myra going to stick with this hobby!!!

After boarding the train they realised one seat was by mistake booked in a different compartment.

While they were thinking of a solution, the chatter box Myra decided to go and convince the other person with whom the seat had to be exchanged. Obviously, she was successful.

As they adjusted in their seats, Myra told her friends she had developed a new hobby of speaking with new people. Mahika and Shreya warned Myra of this dangerous hobby of talking to strangers. Nobody could convince Myra to quit her strange hobbies. Moreover, there was no point in wasting energy on this. Since she would herself move onto a new one in a day or two. During their journey she must have listened to the life stories of at least 10 people. Hardly did they know that one of the passengers was observing this habit of Myra.

After around two hours Myra was going to the washroom when she accidentally stepped over a passenger’s foot. This man who was planning of a way to talk to these girls got successful in his attempt. He was now friends with Myra and he worked his charm to mingle with the trio.

After an hour of gossip he knew details of their trip including their hotel and duration of stay. He told them that he was from their hometown and would love to continue with their acquaintance and turn it into friendship. The young girls were already impressed with his profile since he was from a very famous college. Since their holiday destination was common he made them promise a night out together with his friends who were also arriving for the holiday. The Cupid had already struck the girls when he showed them pictures of his good looking posh friends. So, they decided on a date and wished goodbyes while boarding off the train.

On the way to the hotel, they discussed how exciting would it be to meet them. Instead of being smart educated girls, they were in awe of the deceiving person they met on the train. While at the hotel, they decided to go for shopping at the nearby store.

While Mahika and Shreya were busy shopping, Myra indulged in a friendly conversation with the store manager who was a lady. Telling her the details of her train journey she told the manager who was a local about the man who had become friends with them and they were supposed to meet him and his friends the following night. The kind lady called Mahika and Shreya and wished them the best night tomorrow but with utmost care. She told them to pay attention to, what the strangers who will become friends, get them to drink or eat. Since they are far from home they need to be very careful. The girls understood her concern and promised to be careful while having fun.

“Why didn’t we think this?” questioned Mahika to which the other two reacted with a blank face.

Soon it was time to go to the place where they had decided to meet the boys. They left their hotel with a pepper spray in their bags.

As soon as they arrived at the pub, Myra instantly went to the bar counter and took some tissue napkins for her collection.

“Come on Myra” said Shreya. “Aren’t you guys nervous” she said to Mahika.

“We’ll take care of everything and have fun” said Myra.

Moving into the restaurant they noticed a group of men looking at them like vultures. The lighting was dim so they weren’t able to see clearly. Soon, they approached them and to the girl’s surprise those were the boys.

Instantly, they tried to be very casual with the girls to which they reacted unpleasantly. Even though all of them were good looking, they didn’t fall for them instantly.

One of them offered to buy drinks to which Mahika said “I’ll come with you.” He gave a surprised look to the other two men as if plans were failing. The girls had decided to give the men a lesson by using them to pay the bills and have their fun night. After having drinks, dinner and dance they decided to see off the men with a sweet smile and a thank you.

Suddenly, one of the men offered to drop the girls till their hotel.

The clever girl Mahika replied “We are going to meet my aunt and uncle who live here”

“You can accompany us if you want” offered Myra.

Mahika and Shreya gave a staring look to her.

Obviously, the men were not interested now.

“Look what your hobby must have got us into.” said Shreya.”

“ All of us were charmed by that wicked man. It is not Myra’s fault entirely.” smiled Mahika looking at Myra.

“ On the contrary you two can thank me about talking to the stranger store manager who guided us about being careful!!!” winked Myra.
