The Drama And Friendships Of High School Life:

Hi my name is Maddy Datner and my parents moved back to small-town Edgewater, Indiana, were they grew up and took me with them when I was 2 year old and I instantly became best friends with Cole Reed. We have been best friends since what feels like forever until high school we attend is the first day of high school at Charles Adams High. Cole is subjected to a prank by a fellow student, revealing his briefs and earning him the nickname "Tighty". I did nothing. After that we didn't talk at all. I went to school with a different hairstyle everyday. Three years later, during senior year, I am now a popular cheerleader, with a hot boyfriend named Kane, and I am known as "M&M'' for my friendship with my fellow cheerleader, Marissa. We are popular girls. Me and Marissa were on the computers at school looking at photos for prom when Marissa told me she was going to the ladies room. Marissa forgot her phone then I got a phone call from the tanning salon. I went to give her the phone when I saw Marissa making out with my boyfriend Kane. I was so upset I ran home. Later that evening Cole saw me sitting in my parents car and I looked upset so he went across the street to see if I was okay and I told Cole what happened. After that I said I wasn't good at anything but Cole said there was something I was good at. We then had a race on our bikes. It was fun. I took selfies with Cole and I posted one on Instagram. That is when I came up with a plan to ruin the Prom. Cole agreed and decided to help me but said we were going to need some help and we knew exactly who we were going to get to help. It was fun but it was getting late so he went back home and I went back to my house. The next day we went to school together and we were friends again. We went looking for the group of people who were also subjected to pranks that gave them nicknames. We first got Cole's friend Felicity A.K.A stufts. She agreed to help ruin prom so we came up with a plan and had some fun. Felicity said we were going to need more people to pull it off. We then got Efraim A.K.A Strings we then got Larry A.K.A Sweats we also got Abbey A.K.A TIG we then got Emile A.K.A Mutey we also got Tj A.K.A Tj not everyone has a nickname. They all agreed to help us destroy prom. We had the perfect plan until I decided I wasn't going to let the prom I always wanted be ruined for me so I backed out of the plan and went to prom. First they put Larry's pills for his sweating in Marissa's punch the side effect of the pills gave Marissa a bad stomach ache then they sent offensive pics of a straight guy to the gay guy's and gay guy to the straight guys then they sabotaged to memory pictures. Then they did something that ruined my prom they dropped some sticky liquid on me and feathers right after I won prom queen. If that wasn't bad enough they pulled the fire alarm and set off the sprinklers. Then everyone started yelling F&ck the prom and started dancing. Efraim gets arrested and Abbey kisses Efraim. Larry got asked to dance and I went to talk to Cole but he walked away. Efraim was out on probation and Cole still wasn't speaking to me but I still did something that could change his life you'll find out soon. Graduation came and Cole was still ignoring me so I left and went home. Then I got a knock on my front door it was Cole he wanted to talk he wanted to thank me for something I did for him I sent in his portfolio to the art collage of his dreams and he got in. I told him he was one of the most incredible people I ever met, not to mention hands down most talented. Then he handed me a gift. It was a novel he made about his high school life and it was amazing. It said he loved me and he said it's not fiction. Then we kissed but we decided it was better for us to just be friends. We then went for a bike ride at sunset it was fun. That was by far the craziest few weeks of my life. But by far one of the best few weeks of my life.

That’s the end of my high school life but this is only the beginning of my college journey and let’s hope it's a good one before I go. I have something to say “don’t ever let being popular be the main reason you go to high school. Let it be because of your friends and learning and having fun. Always remember it’s good to make new friends but don’t just forget about the one who was there for you through thick and thin because there the reason you are who you are and the reason you were where you are today don’t ever lose sight of who you are or where you came from.” I may not have been born here but this small-town called Edgewater in Indiana is and always will be my home no matter where I end up Edgewater will always be my home and Cole, Felicity, Efraim, Larry, Abbey, Emile and Tj will always be my best friends and I will keep in touch with them and I will always remember being popular isn’t as glamorous as I once thought. That is what I leave you with. It's time for me to head to college now but I will always remember who my friends really are.
