Alma's family owns the confectionary shop in our neighborhood. The confectionary shop has been in our neighborhood for a long time. It was first owned by Alma's grandmother Sammi and grandfather Pedro Ortiz.It been handed down to Almas parents and then to Alma and her brothers and sisters. All of Alma's family helps out in the shop including Alma's parents, and her brothers and sisters. Sometimes Almas abuela helps out. The recipes they use in the shop are her granmothers mother recipes she used to bake cookies, cakes, and cupcakes. They sell both American and Spanish pastries. They also come up with new designs such as grandmas chocloate pastries.They are renowned for their Dulce cakes and muffins, and chocolate cookies, and chocolate and yellow cupacakes with frosting. They also make chocolate covered strawberries, and white chocolate covered strawberries.Their cherry pastries and apple pies are a delicasse.Everyone comes from miles and miles to taste their desserts. Alma , Nicky her sister, her bother Jorge and brother Phillipe help run the shop with her parents. Lately Almas's family is considering expanding the business to include catering weddings and events. A lot of therie customes always ask to they cater events. They ask all the time.The shop is doing very well, it;s always packed.They sell mexican cansies as well as tortas.Phillipe grilfriend Sarai helps us especially on days that it is extremely busy in the ship. Almas aunts and uncles and cousins help as well. Aunt Marci is the best torte maker. Almas uncles Robbie and Kenny help too.We are strongly consisering the ideas of catering.One day out of the Blue Aunt Sara requested we make some of our pasteries for her job.She works in an office. she had a large order and we all helped fill the order. she asked for 120 pastries and newerly 75 cupackses and 100 chocolate chip , 100 oatmeal cookies. and 100 sugar cookies asn assorted cakes.. she works for a large office banquet. we thoght this is our first job catering an office. Yes , we decided to start the catering business.It was a great event we boxed everthing up and brought to Aunt sara job.it was a nice affair they has another caterer for the foods and a bar tender for the drinks. I know your thinking that wht don't we caterering the food. It is a plan but we are starting with wedding cakes first.It was a grand event . Aunt sara and her co-workers had a good time.

Manuel perez lives down the street. e is one of our best customers. He's been coming in our shop a lot lately because he plans on asking his grilfriend selma to marry him. Selma has been hinting about a wedding ring. she tells everyone that she wants a wedding ring. So finally Manuel decide to propose to selma. He got a picnic basket and some pastries and tea cakes. and headed to the beach with Selma. Manuel said that he got dwon on one knee and proposed. Manuel told us that she said yes. we were so excited. a few days later Manuel and Selma walked into the shop and insisted that we make the wedding cake and smaller cakes . We had them sample cakes. They decided to order a male cake that was choloate and a female cake that was buttercream.Selma was so excited she called up her friends and family up to tell them that she is engaged. They were excited.They decided that the wedding happening soon. Selma was already thinking about and looking for the right wedding dress. It took her awhile but she found the dress. Nichy and the other bridesmaid went to many fitting for their dresses. And the groom and the grooms men did too.They have been at the restaurant making plans for the wedding which is in two months.They were so busy with the fitting for the bridemaids and groom the colors of the wedding were red white and black. Selma asked my sister Nicky to be a bridesmaid. Nicky is so excited. even with a wedding planner they were so bsuy with buying flowers, fiiting for the males and female , the parents the decor for the wedding and reception. they booked bothat the same place.While we were preparing for the wedding another catering job came up. It was another business that wanted cakes pastries and donuts. Ye,s we sell donuts. The customer was Donna Maxwell.So We brought them to Donna's job.

finally the big day arrived we were literally running around, They had a band mariachi band and a Dj. we were running last minute to get the pastries done. We made some of the food thet wanted American foods and Spanish food like enchiladas ,lasagna and pastas like spaghetti and meatballs and garlic bread and chicken and steak burritos , nachos with tons of toppings, tacos and pork carnitas.Then the guest started asrriving anf the usher showed them to their seats.The hall was beautiful with the high celings and the red and white and black decor.Then the flower girl came in and drop the petals then the ring barer acma tin theen the parents walked they aisle then the brideamids and groom mates came in then the brides parents walked her down the aisle. the bridesmaids looked good with their red dressed matching the guys ties. The bride ,she was so pretty with her hair up and a long flowing white modern dress. Then she came up to the groom . they both looked good. They said their I DO's . Then we walked to the reception areas. It as more than one room , but it looked like one room witha complete dance floor.Where The Dj spinned music the whole night. it was beatifully decorated the chairs, and balloon and the cake and candy stations were loaded with candy and chocolate fountains and cheese fountain. they also had a bartender on board.Yes, we made the candy stations and the tacos. We thought we did well for our first official wedding. We had a good time and so did they.
