The soulmate

Sarah was standing at a table, looking at the man in front of her. A handsome man, with eyes so blue, that she could see the sky in them. She was playing with her hair and she had in mind only one thing: „Come on, let me see your wrist!”. In the middle of January, she could find a fancy restaurant and she expected that the man who she will date, will wear something sleeveless.

Sarah wasn't very lucky, because she couldn't find the perfect man and she turned 30 years old last week. She found a lot of nice men, but she didn't think any of them is what she is looking for. The blonde woman was looking for her soulmate and after years of searching, she started to lose hope.

While she was waiting for the taxi that night, she promised herself that date will be the last one. If the man is not her soulmate, she will stop searching for it. But the luck was on her side, because Nathan took off his jacket and Sarah almost jumped in happiness.

-Yes, I knew it was you! she said, almost involuntary.

-What? What are you talking about? asked Nathan, visibly shocked.

-I am sorry, forget about this. So, tell me more about you.

Right in that moment, the waiter brought them their food. Sarah was ashamed of the way she acted and she avoided too look at the waiter. She was staring at Nathan's wrist, on which she could see a half of a heart with the letter „S" inside it. Of course, Nathan did not have any tattoo, so Sarah was the only one who could see it. The man ate a little, then he found an excuse to go, saying that he has an emergency. He paid for dinner and left. Sarah thought that she will never see him again.

Later that night, when she was more relaxed, she thought that she can't let Nathan go so easily, especially when she found out that he is her soulmate. She did not want to make any plan to excuse her behavior, she just texted him: „Hello! I know we started wrong, but I would like to try again, if you give me another chance.".

She did not receive any response that night, not even the next day. „Was the date so bad? Did I mess it up so bad? Did I scare him?”. There were her thoughts all day and she couldn't think about anything else. „Maybe another message? But what will he think? He will think I'm obsessed or something like this. No, I guess I will just wait.”. And she did not wait too long, because at the end of the day she got his response: „Hey, it's not a big deal. Last night wasn't an excuse, I really had an emergency. I would love to take you out again.”. Imagine Sarah jumping all around her room when she read the message. She was planning to impress him that night. But what if he will ask about her reaction? What will she say? She thought it is better to tell him the truth, even if he will think she is crazy. The second date went perfectly. She did not do anything wrong and he did not ask about their first date. They started to fall in love and 1 month after their first date, they already were a couple. She never was so happy, she never felt so loved before.

Soon they moved together, 6 months after they met each other. To celebrate this big step in their life, they went to the same restaurant where they went on their first date. They ate and drank some red wine, and they both got a little dizzy. They started to remember their first conversation, first date and they laughed.

-Hey, remember your first message? asked Sarah. „Hello, darling!”. I felt somehow old, haha!

-Yeah, I remember that one. Hey, remember when you acted super weird on our first date? asked Nathan, not knowing that this will hurt her a little.

-I do... I thought you will forget this, it was embarrassing for me...

-I am sorry, I did not know this. But what was that? I still can't get it. If you feel comfortable to tell me, of course.

-Do you really wanna know? Okay, well, we are soulmates. I was looking for you for a long time and when I found you, I think I was just too happy.

-How do you know this? asked Nathan, a little shocked.

-Well, I was blessed to know exactly who is my soulmate. There is a sign on your wrist and I am the only one who can see it. You know, my mom was a witch and she...

-A what? Nathan interrupted her. Did I hear right? Why in the name of God didn't you mention this in those 6 months?

-I didn't find this information relevant for our relationship... Sarah started to feel bad for not telling Nathan this information.

-I think we shouldn't rush... I think we should cancel our moving together.

-Why? Because I didn’t tell you one thing? ONE thing?

-No. Because I feel like we don't know each other well.

With this last sentence he left, leaving Sarah alone. She started thinking that the restaurant is cursed, or something. She messed it up again and she did not know what to do to make it better. Nathan did not talk to her for some weeks and she wanted to get over him, to forget him, but she couldn’t. For Nathan, the idea that he is dating with a witch's daughter was hard to understand. He thought about this thing a lot, but he never had the courage to talk to her about this. For him, it was dangerous. She could put a spell on him, maybe his feelings are not true, maybe she already put spells on him. Long story short, he was afraid of her.

One day, someone knocked to Nathan's door. He went to open the door, and saw Sarah begging him to let her explain. He stepped back and let her in.

-Why don’t you talk to me? What’s wrong? I know I made a mistake, but there is no way we can fix this?

Nathan was silent. He did not even look at her. What could he say? That he is scared of her? I think man's pride won’t let him do it.

-First of all, my mom is no longer in the living world. And I don’t have powers. I’m not a witch. My mom gave me this gift before she died because she didn’t want me to be alone for a long time.

She was waiting for his response, but didn’t receive any word from him.

-This is all I had to say. I guess I will just leave now.

As she stood up, looking at the door, Nathan stood up too and hugged her so tight, that she couldn’t breath anymore.

-I missed you, my love. Now I know my feelings for you are real. But please, next time talk to me about things like this.

Sarah caressed his face so softly while looking at his lips with a big smile on her face. She barely touched his lips with hers, which drove him crazy. That night was the most magic night for them, because the reconciliation is so sweet when 2 people love each other from the bottom of their hearts.
