Elysium

3:00 am and I am still wide awake. The cabin is shrouded in the type of silence you expect from a cemetery, in the dead of night. The fireplace is alive with warmth and it keeps me feeling comfortable and safe...although I am in the middle of the woods, miles away from the nearest town or even the closest neighbor. Nights like this are meditative and peaceful. The steam from my coffee swirls into the cooler air and it's aroma fills me with happiness. With nothing but the thoughts in my head for entertainment it's easier to focus on the little things that evoke joy. Rather than the crushing weight of society and false news, or expectations of a 9-5 job. While here in the wilderness, I feel free....connected to everything around me. This feeling of liberation is so invigorating and it inspires a sense of wonder and love for the natural world. This earth is so magnificent and it is amazing to take a step back from the constructs of a capitalistic country and to explore the depths of truth that emerge when my mind is calm and silent. And these truths are so evident when I look back at life and put together all I have learned from years of struggle and hardship. For example, that love is one of the most important elements of life....that without touch and kind words and the forgiveness of unconditional love that humanity can not thrive. Or that nature, trees, animals and the earth and the stars and galaxies are all connected and intertwined so intricately that a thought can effect a particle of a star billions of lightyears away. If only we could all reset our thoughts and actions to create a new reality for all of us. What if we could harness the power of our minds to invent a life that revolved around the care and improvement of life for all living beings ? I think we can.....I have hope. And that is magical on it's own. One single action has the ability to set in motion a ripple effect that can span across the universe. One simple gesture of love could change someones life for better. Even though there is much sadness and pain in this life at least we have the ability to percieve everything through a lense of healing. And see that the heartaches we have experienced shaped us to feel compassion and a desire to help others. Sometimes when the time has come to head into town and go back into the society I had felt so free from, it feels as though there's a weight being put back on my shoulders. A weight of knowledge that has no use yet.....the kind of heaviness that occurs when a loved one is struggling and there's no way you can help them. However despite this feeling of overwhelming pressure, it is also propelling me forward and the goal is to use it to the advantage of everyone and find a way to make the visions of a new world come to life. In the back of my mind there are questions unanswered that will inevitably arise....such as " how will I manage to take on such a huge task lik

e saving the world" ? And of course I will have to remind myself that all great ideas are set into motion just by having faith that they are possible. And that magic happens when we stop limiting ourselves. This earth could reach such higher potential if we weren't taught that magic only exists in movies and books. Because it's the biggest lie that can control or manipulate humans... To make us feel powerless or incapable. If we knew how much we were able to do on our own, who knows the incredible inventions and designs we would make? Infinite possibilities are open to us at any given moment. And all we have to do is take a leap of faith and trust the cosmos to guide us. Maybe it seems like a fairy tale... Or the rantings of a hopeful lunatic. But truly in my heart it feels like our earth can become a place where we do not feel greed or jealousy or hatred because we live in a state of equality and the earth is overflowing with abundance because us humans have re-learned how to live in harmony with the land. Where food and homes are free for all. In my dream for a better future all races of people are accepting or eachothers cultures and we all work together to create art and music and peace. All over the world as I write these words ....people are working together to create this vision. All of the people who have inspired these goals of mine have already set foundations for us to build upon. Such as organic farmers who are dedicating their lives to regenerate the soil, or the ones who are planting hundreds of trees to help offset the loss of them. There are kind souls sent to shine the light of hope to others by creating emotional music or art. The fact that so many beautiful expressions of love happen already is a sign that we are already on the path to designing a wonderful future. Right now sitting here I feel so full of gratitude for all the humans making a difference. And I feel grateful for the experience of living at such a crucial time when the fate of generations to come is in our hands. Even though it is an immense burden it is one that I will never give up on. It is a responsibility that runs through my veins and courses through my every atom. Until my last breath and probably every incarnation after I will be chosen to spark a match that will set the box on fire. And from the ashes will rise a pheonix. A new beginning....this new beginning will be a chance to make every revolutionary proud. It will be the reward for all of those whose heart and soul desire peace or who have died for peace.
