Thud!
The sound of her falling off the bed awoke Delia up from her wonderful dreamland.
"Scotty, get me a glass of water!"
Her head felt like it was splitting open, as her eyes fluttered open. It was a result of her partying too Wild last night. Along with the headache came the realization that she is no longer living with Sam and they broke up last week. The sleep last night was the best one she had since the breakup. Getting up from the floor she looked up in the bed at her best friend Stella and leans in to kiss her on cheeks thanking her in heart for taking care of her. She wiggled her way to the bathroom before collapsing on the floor again.
“I really shouldn’t have drunk that much last night. What the hell did I do last night at the party to end up this badly drunk?” wondered Delia as she got up from the floor and washed her face before heading off to the kitchen to get started on coffee for herself and Stella. The headache was killing her. After starting on the coffee, she rushed back to the room to wake Stella up.
“Wakey Wakey! Miss Sleepyhead, time to start the day and make me some hangover tonic!”
Stella opened her eyes slightly. “Five minutes, just five more.” Then she went back to sleep. A naughty smile crept up Delia’s face as she went to the kitchen got a cup of chilled cold water and poured it all on Stella waking her up for good this time.
“Damn you Flower! When are you going to learn to be more human instead of your thundering acts?” shouted Stella as she got off the bed and started hitting Delia.
“Well it's your day, so get up and make me a hangover tonic. This headache is killing me.”
Stella gave in and went to the kitchen to get her special hangover tonic ready for Delia and herself.
“You shouldn’t have drunk so much. You were really out of control last night. Tommy posted a lot of your videos on his insta tagging you as Thunder girl and Girl of Thunder,” giggles Stella looking at the angry and shocked face of her friend as she told her about it.
“I am gonna kill that son of a bitch! How dare he do that without asking me. You are spoiling him, just because he is your brother’s friend who hates your brother as much as you do. Doesn’t give you the right to take his side every time.”
This time Delia was really mad. But seeing her mad and laughing at the same time made Stella relaxed and really grateful. It has been a week since Delia came over to stay with her and not once, she had seen her react to anything. She was getting worried about her. The break-up really hit Delia badly. She really trusted Scotty, but who knew he was a cheat and was cheating on her with her friend’s sister and another friend at the same time. On the same day, she got fired at her job she came home early to find Scotty in bed with another girl. She couldn’t stay there anymore and came to Stella from Bavaria on the next train. Delia was a content writer for a magazine and a struggling author that hasn’t finished a single book in the last 3 years. She always came up with a really good plot idea but could never finish up a single story. Stella was her best friend from the online forum they met on. Stella herself has an ongoing comic running on Webtoon, Demons and Angels. Last night was a celebration party for her hitting 50 chapters of her comic thrown by her boyfriend and he also gifted her a 3-feet action figure of Graham, an original character of hers.
At first, Delia didn’t want to go but for Stella, she agreed. It was a really wild night for Delia. After drinking her coffee, Delia went back to the room to get changed and freshen up. She started remembering about last night and how far her friend Stella had come from just scribbling notes to being a good artist with 1 comic series live and 3 books completed. One of them even under publishing currently. She was really happy for her but then again compared to her friend’s success her failure hit her but she didn’t want to let her sadness be a killjoy for her friend anymore. She had already given enough trouble to Stella for the last couple of days. Now its time for her to get back on her feet. Maybe, she can use this time to complete writing upon one of the plot ideas she had or come up with a new one and for once finish a story.
The aroma of fresh Toasted Salami and Cheese Sandwiches drew her back to the kitchen.
“Is there anything that you are not good at?” asked Delia munching on the Sandwiches. She really loved the Salami and cheese.
After breakfast both got a head start on their work. Stella on her new comic chapter and Delia again with a blank page figuring out where and what to start with. It seems like today was going to be another unproductive day for Delia and a productive day again for Stella. Around, 1 pm the bell rang. It was Chris, Stella’s lovely boyfriend. He came with another gift for her. He really knows how to spoil his girlfriend and be in love. Seeing the two lovebirds all lost in their love and forgetting about her, made her smile and happy for her friend.
After giving Stella another figurine Chris carved for her based on another character from her novel he came down to the kitchen. He brought lunch too.
“Oh! Good so you still remember there is another person in the house other than your Miss Precious,” teased Delia as he was getting the lunch ready to be served.
“How dare I forget the new Girl of Thunder in the town,” chucked Chris as he served her a slice of pizza before taking another and serving it to Stella.
“I am gonna kill that Tommy! Even Mr. Loverboy knows it,” growled Delia as she asked, “Well how bad is it?”
“Not too bad just more than six hundred views on YouTube and around 800 on Instagram and Facebook. I am not on Twitter so no idea about there.”
“Oh, good just in hundreds. Why are making it sound like it is a lot, scaring me all day.”
“Yeah, it is not a lot, just around hundreds of thousands,” giggled Stella.
“Wait, WHAT? Six hundred thousand and Eight hundred thousand???”
Both Stella and Chris giggled as they saw her storming off back to her room in anger. This time Delia was really mad, her anger hitting the roof.
“You are bad, now Tommy poor is going to suffer a lot next time he comes over.”
“Why next time? I asked him to come over this evening. Telling him that you and Delia needed help with moving stuff. That will be an interesting show to watch with some popcorns and drinks,” chuckled Chris.
“You are turning naughty and evil these days,” giggles Stella hitting him in the stomach with her elbow.
“Well, she is making my sweet baby all worked up and worried for the last few days. So, time for payback. Besides being angry at poor Tommy and using him as a punching bag is better than sulking over that cheat.”
Listening to his reply Stella kissed him on his cheeks, “You are really sweet.”
“So, do I get a reward for being sweet and caring,” asked Chris pulling her in his embrace and kissing her again.
After coming to her room Delia punched the bed a few times before she calmed down and kept murmuring about how she will hit Tommy. It took her a while to let it go and then picked her notepad to try writing again.
“Not another blank day.”
As time passes, she became discouraged before finally giving up on trying and thinking about her last night and the events of today. A smile crept on her lips; she finally let the anger and hate towards Scotty go. She thought about how caring her friend Stella has been towards her and about her stupid loving boyfriend Chris. It hit Delia; love comes in many forms. Her and Stella's friendship is also a form of love. What she had with Scotty was also a form of love. What Stella and Chris have is a pure form of love. And her anger towards Tommy currently is also a form of love, a weird and unique form but a form of love. As the thought hit her so did the ideas for a story. She started typing and didn’t stop. She went into a zone, ideas keep flooding her. She started writing with Stella and Chris as the main characters and their first meeting. How their romance blossomed with their love for books. How he gave up his work to move here and be close to Stella. She added a bit of mystical part in it to make it more interesting. She named the story title 99 forms of Love. After finishing the first chapter and writing down the story flow for the rest of the chapters she got away from her notepad. With a victory smile on her face, she rushed out to Stella’s room, pushed the door open, and saw them talking about. She rushed towards them, hugging them tightly and kissing them both. Running off outside the house leaving both of them stunned like puppets.
Finally, she got her story started after a long break. The story was really turned out amazing. And lucky for Tommy, because of her excitement, Delia forgot all about him and even used Thunder Girl as her pen name. Tommy really dodged a bullet there without knowing how much trouble he got himself into.
