Strange(r) love

Ravi was sitting in the park. Cute little kids were playing in the mud, making castles. Ravi was in a deep thought about his future. Usually, he won’t come alone to the park. But that day, his mom scolded him, because he is not interested in getting a job. Even his father helped him getting a job. He would go for one day, and the next day, he quits his job. He says that, he lost interest in that job. Like this he quit more than 20 jobs. His father finally conveyed him that he should go and meet a psychiatrist. His mom too suggested it. Those made him visit the park alone.

After few minutes. A short, dusky girl came near him and sat near him.

He was totally confused, because the girl was smiling at him continuously to get his attention.

Ravi was so silent. He was embarrassed. He was actually a shy person. She smiled at him for more than 2 minutes. Ravi felt so different and tried to move out of that place. Ravi tried to stand up slowly.

 Suddenly that girl held his hand. Ravi was really shocked.

RAVI : Hey. What? Do I know you?

RIA : I’m Ria. Can you please sit with me?

Ravi sat near her with a confused look in his face. Because, he had no girlfriends. He even thought that was it a prank.

RIA : The blue shirt guy there is my boyfriend. I just want to make him feel bad sometime. Don’t ask me why.

RAVI : Okay.

RIA : Just feel free. Why are you so stiff? I think you had no girlfriends. Am I right?

RAVI : No. Actually I have lot.

RIA : (laughs) Oh. Never expected!

RAVI : (smiles)

RIA : Why are you alone?

RAVI : Had a small issue going in my house? I just came here for peace. But…

RIA : Now you’re saying that I’m ruining your peace?

RAVI : (laughs) Just for fun.

Ravi looks at Ria’s boyfriend.

RAVI : I think he’s really angry on me now. He’s going to kill me, when I leave.

RIA : (smiles) No don’t worry. He won’t do that.

RAVI : His look says that!

RIA : hmm. Let’s talk about you. What’s the problem in your home? Don’t think I’m interfering in your family issues. I always think that sharing some sad moments with stranger makes fell good and feels relieved.

RAVI : Yeah. I don’t mind saying it to you. The problem in me is I’m not interested in anything. That’s my problem.

RIA : Oh. It’s weird. In what you’re interested not, anything specific?

RAVI : (smiles) that’s my problem. I don’t like anything. I lost interest in everything I start within one day. Because of that I quit 20 jobs. So that, my parents want me to meet a psychiatrist.

RIA : Really, I don’t know what to say.

RAVI : Actually I hate people saying, do the things what you love. Because, for people like me, who are interested in nothing, what will we do?

RIA : (smiles) Yeah. Why don’t you consider meeting that doctor. At least for your parent’s sake. They’ll be happy, right?

RAVI : I totally understand. That’s why I came here. If I was there, I think, I would hurt them with my words. They are the ones who grown up like this. They sacrificed many things for us. Every time I’ll make my mind not to leave the job after just one day. But I don’t know, after that one day, I’ll feel really depressed and stressed.

Actually, I will tease my dad when he says he is stressed, when I was a kid. Now, I feel really bad for that.

I already arranged a meeting with the doctor. So I’ll go tomorrow.

RIA : You’re so matured.

RAVI : I’ve never talked like this to anyone before. You were right; talking to a stranger is really great.

RIA : (smiles)

RAVI : So, It’s you turn.

RIA : What turn?

RAVI : About that guy looking at us now.

RIA : (laughs) I’m sorry. That’s not my boyfriend, that’s my dad. We just got on a fight. He didn’t like spending lot of time with my friends. So he, said me to reduce my time moving out, with friends. I accepted that.

RAVI : Then. What’s the problem?

RIA : I just got into a relationship with my best friend. He saw us kissing. He didn’t actually like him. So he wants me to be away from him.

RAVI : You know, dads too, are possessive. I had a small sister once. My dad loved her like anything. He actually, wouldn’t even like her going with her friends. I used to advise him. (Smiles)

He was really close to her and he loved her more than anything in this world. Later when she was 17 she died in a car accident.

RIA : I’m sorry.

RAVI : No. It’s fate. Life has to move on, right? Your dad is being bad to you, because he loves you that much. Just please consider his thoughts too. Just sit with him and ask him why he hates your boyfriend. And practically think about what he said. DAD WILL NEVER BE WRONG ABOUT DAUGHTER’S LIFE. IF HE SAYS SOMETHING, THERE WILL BE A REASON.

RIA : Yeah. I didn’t listen him. He wanted to talk with me, so he brought me here. And when he started talking, I came here, near you to make him feel bad.

RAVI : Just go. Talk to him. I’ll wait for you here. And this time just listen.

RIA : Should I really go now.

RAVI : (sighs) yes! Now! He’s your dad. Just go! And another thing I want to say. Umm…

RIA : just say.

RAVI: You’re really cute!

RIA : (smiles) I’ll just check my dad and I’ll come back. Please don’t go.

RAVI: okay!

Ria went to see her dad.

RAVI: (to himself) I expected me too. (Smiles)

Suddenly, a kid with red cap playing there in the mud looked him and said, “Why are you smiling alone? That’s disturbing me.”

RAVI: Hmm. Nothing man, you continue building your castle. I won’t disturb you. (Smiles)

After an hour Ria came to Ravi.

RIA: (exhales) actually my dad was right.

RAVI: I’ve said it you. Parent’s always think  about our life.

RIA: I think you can do counseling as a part time work. It’s like a passive income. You can do it as a freelance.

RAVI: Hey. You’re teasing me!

RIA: I’m serious. I’ll help you with that. Just give me your contact number.

RAVI: Yeah.

Ravi writes his number in her hand.

RAVI: Did you say about me to your dad?

RIA: Yes. He said you’re a good influence. (Laughs)

RAVI: Why are you laughing?

RIA: He said you look like an innocent kid.

RAVI: What? Kid?

RIA: Yes (laughs) He’s waiting out. Can we meet tomorrow? Same time same place.

RAVI: Yes for sure!

RIA: Wait for my Good night message, don’t sleep soon… (Smiles)

RAVI: Don’t forget to message or else I’ll not sleep the whole night!

RIA: (laughs) I don’t know how I became this close just in few hours. I really want to say two words. But I won’t say it now.

RAVI: What stops you saying that now?

RIA: Let it take time, Stranger.

RAVI: Still stranger (smiles)

Ria went to the car with a big smile on her face.

Ravi was really happy. He took his cycle and went to his home.

After few years they became so close. Ravi started visiting her house daily. HE got job in Ria dad’s company.

This time, whenever he felt like he wanted to quit the job, there was Ria’s face in his mind. So he didn’t.

He found a solution for his problem.
