Tinys Belton Academy,

Dallas, Texas, 2021—

Alden’s pale and sparsely twitchy face was waiting for his mom to arrive and get him out of this side chair he’s sitting with, all day long. The pattering sound of the rain beat with the swift hands of the clock. The scene went with Alden staring into the window, he seemed to be loitering, seemed to be waiting for nothing.

“Alden, you alright?” asked Ms. Mackenzie.

“I am...” he responded timidly.

“You sure...?” she added...

“Mom’s gonna come,” he then said with some sort of assurance, despite waiting for like a decade.

“Right, I’m just gonna sit there, okay...?”

...Alden then thinly answered with some nods.

He started cracking his fingers and his eyes getting a bit watery, he’s drowning with the scene around him, his seemed to be sinking into a black hole, a hole that bounded him down to his restlessness and to its darkness.

...Someone finally came, it was his dad, rushing towards Ms. Mackenzie, dad’s eyes seemed to set out more anxiety and impatience than he had for almost three and a half hours of biding for somebody to get him off of all this vexing silence and loness that lingered with him...

His dad was saying something to Ms. Mackenzie, something that may be seriously odious, they both looked so stressed as his dad was saying his news to her, Alden was completely confused... He’s thinking why his dad was here and not his mom, and why does he seemed so tensed? Why do all of this was happening, the waiting, the coming, the moment...? “Why!?” he criedly asked inside.

Then his dad hurried up to him,

“Let’s go...” said the edgy dad.

“But, Where’s mom?” Alden insisted.

“We have to go now, let’s get in the car...” His dad was in total rushed, so did Alden, no more asking at the moment, he was quite, addled, and befuddled...

Some sounds of thunderstorm roared with the rain’s rattling, it was getting dark, the car’s windows mirrored Alden’s views about what’s going on... He was so chilled by his dad’s echoing look, by how he was stressing out just by trying to calm down...

“Dad, where are we goin’...?Where’s mom!?” Alden  asked.

....“We’re going to the hospital...”

....“Why...? Did something happened to mom!? Is she alright ?”

“She’ll be...” his dad said with some sense of confidence, he patted his son on the shoulder, he was pity, yet hoping for everything to be fine...

They got arrived at the hospital at exactly six fifty; they went into the emergency room, Alden were sitting, waiting with his dad outside... Go deeper into Alden’s thoughts, he’s mind was asking, “This all can’t be real... just a part of a big bad dream... isn’t it...!?

He’s cold, he’s sweating, his chest were like a bit going up into space...

The doctor finally went out, her face was showing some shame.

“Are you Mr. Anwar?” asked she.

“Yes.”  answered the man.

....“We’ve done everything we can,

but with all of the stabs your wife got, it pushed her into fatality...” her voice conveyed some great guilt.

....“Dad...?” Alden asked out of his confusion, out of his complaints... His dad gradually hugged him... “No... they’re lying...” he muttered while his eyes were filled with tears and fear... “No!”, He ran, he ran because he couldn’t walk inside of the room knowing to see his mom lying in silence while he’s crying out loud!

His dad rushed towards him, it’s dark outside, the rain was roaring... “Alden!” his dad shouted and ran towards him, he’d hold his son tightly, cuddled him, hugged him... “Hey... It’s gonna be okay... I’m hear... I’m here...”

Alden knew his mom as a fanatic friend who’s always there to help him out when he seemed to lose hope, when his fear attacks him just by thinking about what might follow in the future, he’s a child drowning in the sea of anxiety and his mom had always helped him how to float.

Years passed, Alden’s home was his room... His dad, who’s a busy man, now carries the heavy burden of being a widower, and a father to a mourning child... Alden was alone with his pains lying with him in his bed, he’s alone in disparity, just staring at those four known walls...

...And then the room was silent... Yes... The hall that’s full of audience drowning in hush as Alden narrates the deepest part of his journey down into a black hole... “It’s like the only direction that I had was downward towards an infinite space of darkness, infinite space of nothingness...” the wise man said...

A light was pointing up to Alden while he’s standing on the stage speaking about the things that had happened to him, his ups and downs, his falls and revivals... “I thought there’s no more way out... I seemed to be drowning in a middle of nothing, no light, no hope...

Then one time, I saw the book my mom was always reading to me, I picked it up... and it was all about the beauties of the night sky, how stars do shine brighter when they’re surrounded by darkness...

...Then I said to myself ‘Is this what mom wanted me to be...? You know... Be a star...?’

And I was like... ‘Hey Alden... Why don’t you!?... Though it’s gonna be hard, it’ll be worth it... right?’

And for once, I felt that there is hope, I felt a chance to stand up and fight against all my fears, my doubts, and sadness, I was like being carried up by a light that starts to glow in me, being away from the black hole I’ve buried myself with...

...Seems like somebody’s sobbing around the corner, ah...” The audience once chuckled and chortled after all the silence that happened... Alden continued, then finished his talk by the saying, “If isn’t worth dying for, it isn’t worth living for...”

This speech of him was one of his greatest... He talked about his life, he talked about death... His funeral happened last Friday...

Many people were praying for him, pleading that the light that’s inside of him will guide him out away from the deadly black hole he’d entered... A light that’s so strong, the pull of gravity couldn’t even escape...

...No, don’t bash me for this...

...But before you guys get

muddled by how I turned into a first person... I wanted to say that I was deeply shocked and saddened about the news of the passing of Sir Alden Anwar... I wonder how some of you might be metting him right now as a child just sitting nearby the corner, the child that became as one of the greatest astrophysicist and cosmologist of today’s time... His hope was beyond it, beyond the blackness of a black hole...
